Hi there.
Got my X10 bricked.
How that happened:
Yesterday put my phone on vibrate/silent mode, shile was at cinema. Battery was about 15%. Later on I ffound that phone is off, thought it happened because of low battery. When I got home I've putted it on charge. Red light flashed few times. After about 2 hours I looked at it and no light was there. Phone didn't turn on. Took battery from another X10 (fully charged) and nothing happened. Tried to connect it to PC to reflash it, but no green LED appeared and PC told me, that unrecognized device found. After few PC restards even this disappeared. Just silence. None of buttons pressing configurations helped.
Tried with no SIM and SD cards. No change.
I have latest ROM on it and xRecovery.
Any ideas of what I could do?
hey dude one thing for ya.. you can never brick your x10 its not those old phones it a computer based/linux phone.. If you go through the forums you can find the info of how to unbrick x10 .. try Pc companion or go to sony website and try SEUS( Sony Ericsson Update service) it'll fix your phone up.ill do my best to post a link for ya if i can find it soon
here u go dude. read through this link and you'll fix your phone..

Thanks. But thing is that phone doesn't go in flash mode. No green LED is on. On first try I got "unrecognized device" from XP, now it's just silent on phone connection.
i think its more in hardware related because as far as i know eh you cant brick your phone. and battery drainage is far related to bricking..so i guess its a hardware problem..maybe you sat on it or something..because bricking is moreon software related.
try this
*remove the battery
*plugin charger to your x10
*hold the power button while inserting your battery.
just give it a shot..
It was in my wifes bag while that happened, but she has her phone just beside mine, so not shure it was because of some pressing on it or whatever.
Tried what you told me - no result. Tried pressing/holding power bttn before, while and after battery insertion.
Again, there was red LED at first, when I've plugged in charger yesterday, but later on it disappeared. I've charged my battery on another phone. Now it nearly full.
Try all solutions before u send ur phone for repair. I had to send my in to ATT and they said it was probably a hardware issue. So i hate to say that but i had the same thing. Sorry to tell u that my friend.that red light is a killer.

got a similar problem.
my x10 will only vibrate and the led blinks green, but the phone won't start.
tries SEUS, pc companion, pc suite, flash tool. nothing helped.
any suggestions?
Well, mine won't even vibrate.
Voelker45, so you got replacement or they repaired your phone? Could you tell me wich part it was?
I bought my phone on ebay, so no way to send it back. And it was in August 2011, so anyway, I have to work that thing myself.

Install SEUS and run it. Select x10 and it will install drivers on your phone. Then plug in your phone and try to repair.
As I wrote before, x10 does not enters flash mode, so no way to reflash.
And looks like it's really hardware issue. Something with powering.
Ok, thanks everyone. Since I bought it on ebay and it would be unreal to send it back to seller and we don't have SE service centers here, I'll fight for my phone till the end)))
Maybe something from this thread will help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944322

Thanks, G-FACE.
Strange thing happened:
Connected x10 to charger without battery. No LED turned on. Left it for a few mins, pluged in battery. No result. Took usb plug out and ! phone turned on. As it was without SIM cars, I turn it off, took battery out, putted SIM in, battery in and... again, it's not turning on. Tried repeating that way - nothing. Must be some hardware connection problem near battery. Will disassemble phone tomorrow.

Me again)
Strange things keep happen.
Here is the story:
Finally, got some star shaped screws yesterday and took apart my phone (thnx to McKebapp).
Non of IC were with readable names) So later on, after few hours of serching I found Xperia X10 scheme files (!!!). So the most probable faulty part would be Qualcomm PM7540 - power distribution IC.
Anyway, it was to hard for me to understand all that stuff in scheme, so I gave up(.
Assembled my phone back again. And just to... em.... have it done, lets say, I took out battery, pluged X10 in charger, pluged battery in. But it doesn't turned on again. So I took USB plug out abd - tadaaa - screen lightened.
Waited till phone loaded, turned it off again, pluged SIM and SD cards in, turned it on again - and it did! It turned on!
So, night passed and it still works.
Btw, yesterday I've rebooted it few times and it still was ok.
I don't know what was the problem, it could be bad contact, but there is no wires between battery and power distributing IC.
Anyway, X10 is back again)
Sorry for my bad english. I've got a Sony EricssonXPERIA X10 that came with android 1.6 when I bought it.Later i updated it to android 2.1.The upgrade finished without problems and the telephone worked the same way as it did at first with one exception:it started to shutdown at approximately 15 mins of usage or talking.Lateley it began doing it more often and now it shuted down and won't start. When i want to charge the battery the red LED is flashing and the battery is warming up but just a little. When i want to start it,it vibrates a little and that's it.Does anyone know any solutions??? I don't care if I lose all i have on it ot what android version i will instal on it.
change a new battery

Charge Battery 100%. Run repair software via SEUS or PCC.
Hi, my Xperia X10 mini pro is completely dead, it won't turn on, no led turns on when i put it on the charger or connect to the computer. My computer doesn't recognize it, and nothing appears on the screen.
Is there something i can do to ?
Flash tool nor SEUS recognize him, I really don't know what to do.
Can you tell us a little about the history of bricking?
How did it happen, what did you do with the device...
Yesterday I installed MiniCM7 Pro v20, and everything went right, all functions were on and smooth. Today I was installing some apps, and I left them installing, later when I went to see if everything was ready, i found my cellphone turned off. I thought that my battery has been drained, so i put it to recharge, but after 3 hours nothing appeared on my phone. I've already tested my battery with a multimeter, and so the problem isn't in the battery.
I guess this is all.
It could be your usb lead, may be try another.

What is happening with SEUS? You do press the back button while connecting the usb cable and nothing happens? It says that you have the latest software installed and there is no option to install again??
Well isn't the usb i've tried another one, from sony ericsson and still not working. When i tri to connect to SEUS it simply doesn't recognize the cellphone even though i'm pressing the back button.
You said you tested the battery with a multimeter, what was the voltage across the terminals? It may show a charge but still be incapable of booting the phone, however, the voltage may be too low to accept a recharge (lipoly batteries have a safety cutout to prevent charging a discharged batter as they tend to blow up - it could be as much as 3v in some circumstances.) I think sony ericsson read 0% at 3200mv or there abouts and 100% at 4200mv.
If your battery is below 3v then you will need a new one.

Well you said your battery had drained, and IIRC, lithium-ion batteries don't take too well being drained so that might have killed it.
Have you tried plugging a charger into it and leaving for roughly 20 hours?
Well it appeared 3V, but the precision were set so that i couldn't see the number after the dot, i mean, i don't know the "x" in 3.x V
And it is on the charger right now, i'll wait the 20 hours. Hopping it comes back tomorrow.

I have had this problem before, but I waited roughly 20 hours and voila! My phone came back from the dead and now it's working better than ever
Hope your phone will do just as well ^^
I'm really hopping too
Well, unfortunately 20 hours has been passed and nothing changed on the cellphone, is there anything more to do ?
The flash tool that you have tried is the one from Bin4ry?
If not try it, that worked for me as i un-bricked my phone after months of waiting for such tool.
Pay attention to the instructions because some details are tricky

Thanks everyone for the help.
i've got the same problem. now i hate my xperia mini pro.... maybe samsung will heal my wound................
with speaker there is cover remove it and there is a place.place the needle in it for 1minute and then reply me
I had the same problem. I tried some key combinations like "Power + Back" or "Power + Menu" and it didn't work, but when I tried "Power + Home" the phone came back alive!
Hi all,
It seems my X10 mini pro is bricked.
Briefly: When I turn on the phone, it vibrates. About 8 seconds llater, the screen lights up, but doesn't show anything, then goes dark again. It then keeps repeating this: once in a while, the screen lights up, but shows nothing, and then goes dark again.
When plugged in to charge, the LED light doesn't come on (and actually hadn't for a while when charging, even though the phone was still working).
I've deleted all the contents of the SD card and updated the firmware with SEUS and PC Companion; both don't come up with any errors and claim everything has been installed, but there is no change in the phone's behavior. Also tried to install the French stock ROM (the only link that seems to work in the Flashtool+ROM thread) using Flashtool, but to no avail.
Does anyone have any other sugggestions?
I was wondering whether it could actually be a battery problem, as I've had some issues with charging the phone for a while before this happened; e.g. the LED didn't work when charging, and on more and more occasions the phone didn't seem to charge when plugged in. Could this be caused by a problem with the battery? (Have ordered a new one from ebay, so will see what happens when it arrives.) I'm not aware that I did anything unusual with the phone software-wise that could have caused it to be bricked. (Phone was rooted, but I did that ages ago.)
Many thanks for your help!
could be the battery going bad since you mentioned you have it ages ago or so. or could be the cable as well.

I've had it for about 15 months. Is it normal for the battery to go after that amount of time?
Which cable do you mean?
i cannot really tell about the battery but the usb cable for your charger.
Ok, it's not the battery. I tried it in a shop with one of their batteries, which worked in their phone, and the phone still won't turn on.
Is there anyone who thinks it could still be a software issue?
Otherwise it seems my options are to send off the phone, which might cost a bit, or to start digging around in the phone myself for a bit. I found a disassembly guide online, but it scares me a bit, since the first step seems to be to lift off the keyboard, and I'm a bit worried about damaging it and about how to put it back. Has anyone else here got any experience with taking their X10 mini pro apart?
Thanks!
Charging issues etc are nornally to do with the dodgy USB port in the phone. Try wiggling the cable at the port end see if you can get it to charge then try a SEUS

No, it wasn't a charging issue.
Took it to be fixed, and it turned out it was the cable inside that connects the screen etc to the low part of the screen.
Now that the phone is working again, I've got to figure out how to get rid of the French keyboard layout that I got onto it when trying to fix the firmware ...
Why not flashing mine in my signature, it's QWERTY! ;-)

Just take off your phone battery for about 2 hours to let it completely 'dead' aka enter off phone mode, after that try to insert battery back and charge your phone...if there is no LED,then your charger/USB connector/battery got something wrong with it...
