Hi Everyone!
I tried flashing to new kernel Bionix V1.3.1, I used SGS flasher.. The phone rebooted, then was stuck to Vibrant Logo, It was late in the evening, my battery was low but was connected to a charger, until I fell asleep and when I wake up.. It's still on the Vibrant Logo,I pulled out my battery and placed it back, still It's not working...Need Help,please.... by the way, I'm afraid that it's no longer charging... the whole body is too hot when I charge it...Badly need your advice..

By the way, I still can get to downloading mode...how long does it usually takes to download? I tried flashing a kernel.. I don't know If there are some other things that I need to do..Please help.

Can you still get into Recovery mode?
Download mode is for using ODIN to manually flash your device. If your not running ODIN on your PC then it's not doing anything.

Just go to this link.

It has all the info you need for Odin.

[Q] Galaxy I9100 bricked - Request help

Hi Everyone,
Need help with my I9100 which doesn't boot. I got this phone yesterday and was using it fine. Today i installed Kies and it prompted to upgrade firmware. I researched and found that it had improvements in battery life and decided to go for it. It downloaded the firmware and everything went fine until it prompted saying firmware upgrade failed and asked me to do firmware emergency recovery.
I googled to see more info regarding this error and couldnt get much information. Decided to go ahead with recovery as instructed. Again i got error " Firmware emergency recovery stopped due to GT-I9199 error". If the problem persistes please contact samsung service center.
Please suggest if this is recoverable error and any links to proceed and have a working phone.
Currently when i power on, i get a logo of phone connected to PC with yellow bang in middle. Any pointers much appreciated....
Thanks.
Don't worry, I think you can fix this yourself using ODIN. I mean, flash a custom rom through Download mode. (Turn the phone off, hold Volume Down + Home + Power for 4 seconds)
In this mode you can flash any kind of rom without doing your phone any harm. Just go to the Rom Development forum and choose your rom. I suggest Lightning Rom, because it uses ODIN, and has a very well-explained tutorial.
You can also flash a stock rom, you can get it from the Stock Rom thread, and flash that through ODIN.
Or get it fixed by Samsung and wait two weeks. (where they use exactly the same program, ODIN, to reflash the stock rom)
Look here
And here
And finally here
If all that doesn't work, take it back to samsung.
Also, KIES is a PoS, use Odin in future
Yep, KIES may look all official and reliable, but it actually seems to brick some SGS2's.
Thanks for the info's. Will try them and update soon.
No luck. I tried multiple times to update ROM using ODIN in download mode. Everytime it says NAND write operation failed and comes out. I am searching to see if any other option left before i take it back to samsung
Don't forget to try it with a different computer. Sometimes it's not the phone, it's the PC or the USB port.
Also, you can try flashing with Heimdall instead of Odin.
First of all;
Yellow triangle means you are running custom kernel/rom.
Press home+volume down and then power, to get into download mode , on your phone. If that works, take battery out, to stop it.
Go to:
Samfirmware.com
Download firmware from there. It is a rar file, I think. Open rar file to see what is in. 5 files? The biggest file has all of the other files in it.
Install via Odin. Select pda in Odin and select the biggest file from the rar.
Put your phone into download mode, connect usb and run Odin.
Adrian.
SGS2 I9100
Lite'nin rom 3.2
Make sure that all kies processes are closed or odin will fail.

Keis? Hmm.

You can buy a usb jig, specially designed to put you phone into download mode. Search for it on ebay. Take the battery out, plug in usb jig, replace battery and it should boot into download mode. If it does not, then the phone is dead.

[Q] phone will not turn on after odin

Hey guys, I was using odin to flash back to stock. My GPS died and was going to try to get a replacement before I tried the hardware fix.
I went to flash back to stock using ODIN, it got stuck on modem.bin. After reading a bunch on people getting stuck here, it looked like it was safe to unplug and try again. I unplugged and now my phone will not turn on at all. Simply a black screen... no recovery, no download mode, no battery status when plugged in. Nothing.
I need some ideas here!
Thanks!!!
This worked for me in similar situations: Pull the battery, plug-in the usb cable, do the three-finger thing (or two finger or whatever works with your boot-loader) and then put in the battery and hope.

[Q] May have bricked vibrant. Newbie here need help!

Hi everyone, I am new to this community. I am a newb and I followed the noob guide to rooting. this my first time flashing a rom. First I used Odin to flash to stock firmware 2.1. Then I flashed the next gen v2 bionix by team whiskey.
This was a week ago. The phone has been running smoothly with no Problems until yesterday it suddenly turned off on me. It doesnt stay on long enough for me to flash back in Odin or for me to even get into recovery menu. It just powers on for few seconds and turn off.
Any suggestions..or Is my phone bricked for good?
By the way it did have voodoo lag fix. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it I'm not familiar with flashing kernels etc. I didn't flash a new radio or nothing else. I Just installed the rom and the voodoo fix.
Did you charge the battery?
Yes I tried three different batteries that were fully charged. So I kept trying to power it on now it doesn't turn on at all.
Is completely dead no lights ..nothing. Any suggestions ?
And if I have send in to repair what will be the issue and is it worth fixing or getting new phone?
So you can't even get to download mode?
What happens when you have your phone off, hold the volume up button (or however you get into download mode; volume up is all I've ever had to do), and then plug in a USB cable connected to your PC?
you can try jig to get it in download mode

[Q] My phone won't start or boot into Recovery Mode

I was using the Spike Pure ICS rom untill I flashed CM 7.2. Now my phone won't boot into Recovery at all. I tried flashing the ICS version of Lite'ning Rom through Odin, but it gets stuck at "factoryfs.img" and I have no idea as to what to do.
Also, I tried flashing the stock Gingerbread firmware after a couple of hours but it says that the battery is low. Will this method work?
Moreover, will I be able to charge my phone while its in this condition?

Can you get into download mode by holding the power, home and volume down buttons when the phone is off? Also, try taking the battery out of your phone for five minutes and then replacing it. Do you get any splash screen (Galaxy S2 Logo) when the phone is powered on? If you can get into download mode, flash a stock ROM from sammobile.com. As for your battery problem, I can't see why plugging your phone in to the charger wouldn't work. Give the download mode and battery remove and replace a go first.
Chris.
I was able to get the phone into Download mode till yesterday night. Though I left my phone connected to the USB port all night, it now says that the phone has low battery to get into Download mode. That's why I asked whether it would get charged or not!
I've downloaded the XWKL1 firmware and also the kernel and want to flash it as soon as my phone gets charged (if it gets charged!).
Firstly, check the sticker on the chassis of the phone under the battery & check what model you have. Secondly, if the battery won't charge, try another battery. Thirdly, if you still can't get into download mode or any other signs of life from the phone with a new battery, service centre.
Thanks for the help MistahBungle & themadba!!
I flashed the stock GB Rom through Odin. Now I'll root it, flash CWM and start flashing again!!

Bricked phone? Not sure what to do next

Hi Guys,
So during an attempt to flash CM9, I flashed a kernel with CWM recovery onto an existing 4.0.4 rom with an unlocked bootloader, but no root. My phone was then stuck at CWM, and wouldn't go into the OS. So i went to download a new rom to re-flash it, and went to bed.
Overnight, I left my phone on the charger, but I don't believe it was actually charging, there was no indicator light, and when I woke up, it appears my phone is battery dead, as such it won't boot up, it won't charge, so I can't boot into flash mode to flash a new rom.
I have no idea what to do, is it possible to force this battery to charge via ADB or something? Do I have any options? I'd really appreciate any advice.
You need someone with same phone, swap the batteries, then flash your phone.
