[Q] Help with Installing the Stock ROM - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hello everyone again.
I can't access the Activation Menu on my Optimus V, so here I need to install the completely stock virgin mobile rom.
Here's the step where I get stuck - Once I reboot into the stock recovery and pick the Update.zip (the stock virgin mobile rom) - the installer tells me that the signature is incorrect, so no-go After installing the stock rom using the custom recovery - I get the Android Loop
So I need some help here

Just call them to activate your phone, you don't need the links on the phone. BTW, the same links are also found in your App list. They're still there even though I've activated my phone over a week ago.

[Q] SGS2 (GT-I9100) Recovery After Flashing Kernal

Hi guys. When I got my phone at the end of last year I rooted it using a Chain-Fire kernal - v 4.2, I think. After flashing, it worked perfectly, since when I have flashed the old bootloader to get my USB Jig working to remove the yellow triangle and flashed a patch again to allow the USB Jig to reset the binary counter.
In the past week or two I have very much wanted to install and get the new Sky Go application working and I have been very successful following the advices on the App Thread.
What I had to do was flash the Stock kernal for my Stock Rom - I have never messed with my Rom - it is Gingerbread 2.3.4 in a CPW phone here in the UK.
Doing the flash and installing Voodoo OTA (to temporarily hide my root) has been enormously successful and the guys working on this need my sincere thanks -
Now then to my query....
The original Chain-Fire mod v 4.2 installed CWM.
After of course cancelling the "hide root" function to show my phone as rooted once more, I went to do a backup, using CWM but it refuses to work. It says my kernal needs v 5.0. Obviously the Stock Rom I flashed to get Sky Go working has thrown CWM some what.
I have downloaded Rom Manager from the Market but this seems not to work either - it starts to work (reboots) but then halts with the following messages: -
E : failed to verify whole-file signature
E : signature verification failed
Installation aborted
Could someone sort me out please???
What I would like is some way of installing a backup previously made before flashing the Stock kernal and also to make a fresh backup now.
Thank in anticipation
roz

I have posted the above in the incorrect forum - could you please transfer to the Samsung Galaxy SII I9100 forum please
Thanks
Ok I think I found the answer somewhere else.....
When to flash a Stock kernal, you lose the ability to backup and Restore, even though your root is preserved.
That is unless someone else knows different?
You're right, when you flash the stock kernel you lose CWM. Just flash a CWM kernel with mobile Odin and CWM will work again. You will need to flash back the stock kernel whenever you want to watch sky go...

[Q] Lost my IMEI while installing 4.1.2

Hi,
I have Motorola Photon with unlocked bootloader.
I've tried to install "cm-10-20121107-UNOFFICIAL-sunfire" ROM.
In the middle of the installation process (the "prop-set" screen) the phone just freezed.
I had to remove the battery and restart the phone.
(later I've realized that I needed to install the IMEI's CWM so I downloaded and installed it but it was too late and the damage was apparently already made...)
I tried this part also:
Code:
"look
first flash the rom whatever cm10 miui aopk
second flassh the gsm zip i uploaded
third flash gapps
fourth flash option chooser dont choose any of gsm or cdma
choose emmc or sdcard
choose not ussc fix and reboot
u will have signal "
But it didn't help me either.
I worked according to this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961248
And the phone is currently working and running cm-10-20121107-UNOFFICIAL-sunfire 4.1.2,
But I cannot connect to any network because the phone doesn't have IMEI.
Returning to the old ROM isn't helping either...
Please help!
It can be manually reprogrammed but it's not fun. Flash back to 198_7 go to a local Sprint service center. The most it will cost you is $35. You may even be able to move over to another device if you ask nicely
Hi,
Thanks for replying.
I bought this device in the US but I don't live in the US.
so I can't get to Sprint...
I'll be very glad if you could tell me how can I get this device back to work.
Thank you very much!

Fail
I got it to work. Almost.
Installed OptimusRS JCV3 but now my phone stucks everytime at the startup logo:E
The installation went without any problems. No fails what so ever except from the failure during startup.
Where do I go from here?
Boot into Recovery again.Wipe data/cache and go to "Advanced" and wipe Dalvik cache/Battery stats and Reflash the Rom.
Note:-
1.Should have stock ics rom before flashing the rom.
2.If the setup is completed in less than 5 sec then Wipe the System too

Thanks for all the help guys.
Still the problem remains. I can't even get into recovery-mode. What ever button i press on the phone, it starts up like its just being in sleepmode during the lag and it stays that way. I can't get pass the LG logo or get it to recovery-mode? What is the problem?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 [gt-p3113][os deleted][stuck on old cwm recovery]

I'd like to start this thread in establishing that I am not familiar with how all this works, nor do I have any idea how to fix it, which is why I'm here. I only know the system info, such as version, firmware, etc.
In attempting to add cyanogen mod on my already previously rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 gt-p3113, I watched a video that directed me to install clockwork recovery and root in a single bundle using Odin, (which I successfully did). I then proceeded to install cyanogen mod while in clockwork recovery, which it then told me to factory reset wipe all data before doing so. After going to the "main page" of CWM and resetting the device like it told me, I then went back to install cyanogen mod, only to have it tell me that CWM is out of date. I tried rebooting the device, but it would take me back to CWM, which im assuming means I deleted to OS on accident.
After all that, I finally concluded I'm stuck on an old version of Clockwork Recovery with no OS installed. I can access download mode, however when I'm not in download mode the device automatically boots up to the old version of clockwork mod, and I'm stuck there.
As I have no idea how all this stuff works and did pretty much everything from a YouTube video, I'm hoping a more experienced developer can help fix the problem and somehow help me regain use of my tablet. At this point I don't care whether I can get cyanogen mod installed or not, and I would appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks

Well, I would say that may be a bigger problem ! Now what I think better for you would be trying to flash the stock ROM over to the device again I am sure you have your hands over the flashing. So head over to the sammobile/firmware section and try getting the stock ROM downloaded and flash it over your device.

[Q] HTC One M8 - recovery to stock ROM (or any other ROM)

Hi all,
Some months ago I've tried to install Cyanogenmod on an HTC One M8 device.
Unfortunately it didn't work, no option to install ROM from SD card available.
Since then this device has not been used anymore.
I can't access phone settings anymore, it just boots up to recovery settings.
I can't seem to go back to stock HTC version by simple factory reset.
I've also tried already different ways found on Google to put the stock Android on my device. None helped.
Can someone help me out here?
If possible to just install the Cyanogenmod or any other instead of the stock one? (if this simplifies to re-use my device)
Thanks in advance.
regards
Tim
