You were on voodoo, and flashed a non-voodoo kernel.
Yes. I think so as long as the kernel that came with.the.new oden paxkage was non vodoo

Move everything inside of SD to computer (if you need any thing in there) Then Go into cwm and wipe data/cache/dalvik > reflash SC. Lets see if that does the trick.

Ok. I will.try that . Does it matter that I.still.have the vodoo clockwork recovery?
I just formatted my SD card, loaded superclean again and the same result. 0.00 space available on internal storage. This has me stumped

Hmm.. I had same exact problem while ago.. Refer to my guide in android development.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1001064
Seems like only way to fix it is by reflashing atock rom then root > cwm > rom

You probably need a voodoo kernel....
When you Odin'ed... did you use any .pit files? And you are sure the ODin image was for our Verizon Fascinate?
If you are completely stumped follow the instructions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=977493

Yes it was closed bc a troll came in and started insulting adrenylne. The instructions are still good however if someone needs to fix a potential partioning issue.
If you need the CWM files look to Jt's thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942021&page=18
Thanks for the help guys. I finally figured it out. After loading up the odin super clean package, for some reason it was using a voodoo kernel with the non voodoo based ROM. I was getting all kinds of messed up stuff going on. Thanks again guys!

been searching last 2 hours to no avail..
I appreciate any feedback cause I cant seen to get this.
Started with stock rom, un-rooted.
Installed rom manager per bionix instructions..
Downloaded bionix191_stock.zip
Saved to root sd card.
Selected "Install rom from sd card"
Informed me to unroot.
installed ryanZA's oclf from the market to root.
Re-ran rom manager.
Selected again "Install rom from sd card"
Selected wipe data and cache
Reboot process begins.
stops at "update.zip (bad) error.
What am I doing wrong?
try redownloading it.
Thanks for the reply...
I already tried downloading the zip again.
The zip file matches the proper size from
The link as stated on the install info...
I have the copy on my sd card in the root folder
as well as my download folder.
do I have to do something in the OCLF app?
try rooting withouth OCLF, using a normal update.zip
also, did you rename the bionix file?
I didn't know I had to rename the zip.
What do I rename it to?
The rom manager wouldn't run without a root,
so I had to use oclf first...
do I have to odin back to stock to install bionix?
no, dont rename it. this is what I did.
1. Odin to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
2. install the update.zip from stock recovery
3. use market to download ROM manager
4. use ROM manager to reboot into recovery (do not use install rom from SD card)
5. you may need to use stock recovery to reinstall packages
6. in clockwork, install zip from sdcard
7. choose zip from sdcard
8. choose your bionix version
9. install
10. reboot twice
thx Brian, worked perfectly. You are a friend an a scholar!
I installed Bionix 1.9.1 Voodoo (OC/UV/Voodoo Kernel)
Benchmarked at 1878
installed OCLF right after..but the 2.1 & 2.2 lagfixes are unavailable...
Trying to fig out how to install OCLF on top of voodoo?
You don't use both the OCLF and Voodoo at the same. Voodoo requires a bit more reading comprehension and user ability than OCLF. For people that want a LagFix without the hassle of Disabling/Enabling Voodoo every time you reflash; OCLF is for you.
I'm on Bionix 1.9.1 with JACs OC/UV Kernel and no Voodoo (don't really feel the need) and I used OCLF to root way back when I had stock TWiz.
Glad you got it working and from here on out if you flash any of the prominent ROMs available you don't have to revert to stock as most of them wipe clean as part of their script. Just boot into ClockWork recovery, install zip from SD and find whichever ROM you want.
Oh and always nandroid before flashing a new ROM and use Titanium Backup to back up your apps and such.
I actually do not use the voodoo lagfix, because you have to disable it every time you want to flash something. I have had to repartition my phone so many times because of it I finally just stopped using it. Bionix is so fast I don't really see a need for the lagfix anyway.

I second this post. Bionix is fast enough comming from Stock. I do not think I need the lag fix.
Fusion is even better now!!!
So, I've been wanting to root and "Flash" my phone with custom roms etc.. Well I have it update to JI6 (2.1-update1) would I still be able to root it? Can I use the one click root or would I would to do the manual one?
I wanted to install a custom rom once doing, and I've read through the threads and got a basic understanding of it but I'm still confused. Why am I "Flashing" it, like what is flashing.
Maybe theirs a thread I'm missing that explains all this, if so sorry.
I have more questions but I'll see if I still need them answered when these get answered
Read my first post in the general section sticky. I hit on all of this. I would be happy to answer any detailed question after you read it.
Flashing is just a term for installing the .zip file that is the rom.
Bionix 1.9.1 is amazing.
I personally would root manual. I did it from ji6, worked perfectly. I would also download the file straight to your phone and not even worry about your pc. Just use an app like astro to rename it and then move the file to sdcard/
Be sure to go to koushs thread and get rom manager and clockwork recovery setup. This is also in the sticky.
Ok thanks very much, I looked at your thread. I come from an iphone so this is all very differnt for me. Whats the difference between a rom and a kenerl?
And I found this little youtube series about flashing a galaxy s, would this be good to get a general idea of this from? (http: //ww w.you tube . co m/watch?v =E90MyE D94OY&p=C8D58129 7770EB5B&playnext=1& index= 77)
I wanted to flash it with the rom bionix 1.9.1, but when I go to download theres like "bionix 1.9.1 w/stock kernel" and "bionix 1.9.1 w/kingklick OC/UV kernel", etc.. which one do I want? Whats the differnece?

I understand that and I can explain it, when you connect your vibrant and put it into mass storage mode, you'll get 2 "Removable disks" on your computer, put the .zip onto the root of the removable disk with around 16gb of max space.
A rom is basically the entire android 2.1.1, but with the tweaks from the developers. The kernel can be included with a rom, or you could just flash it over the stock jfd or ji6. The reason most flash another kernel is so they can overclock their processor. Jac's oc/uv (overclock and undervolt). I am running at 1.2GHz thanks to JAC.
If you do not want to overclock just get 1.9.1 stock, though I'm a huge fan of JAC's.
Put on the root = not in a folder. You want the internal memory, sdcard/... Not the external (sd card) sdcard/sd/
Dvande, I'm not at aoc and can't go to your linkfit the video.
I finally got superclean 2.8 voodoo to work right but now that want to flash touchwiz launcher and apps-from what I understand is just doing the same thing in cwm-it does not work.. It says I had installed the .zip but when I reboot nothing is changed. I even moved the .zips from the Touch Wiz folder on my sd card to the root of my sd card.. What am I doing wrong? As I'm unable to flash touchwiz onto my phone.. This is confusing me because I'm doing everything right, unless I broke something.

Did you clear cache and dalvik before flashing tw zip? Tw should have been on your phone to start with, version comes with 2.8. Are you trying to over write the existing tw?

TW (the launcher) does not come with SC2.8. He obviously wants it back. Personally, I kinda like the TW launcher and have the zip sitting on my sd card, but haven't tried flashing it back yet. I suppose I should just to see if it works.

You are right. A no go. After it failed I thought perhaps it was permissions so I went into Terminal Emulator and ran fxpms under root: still nothing. Adrynalyne should probably be notified. Perhaps it's another scripting issue?

He said it should work, I'm unsure why its not... and if thats the case you know anywhere else that we can download the TouchWiz launcher plus live wall paper, and the stock apparel including bloat? Cuz I did like some of the apps and wanted to try the games lol... And yeah Adrynalyne should be notified but I can't post on the developement part of the thread. I guess a PMT would be better than a thread?? Idk which one cuz I dont know which would be answered more. I hope not cuz he did say all patches and superclean where 2.5.x CWM only with edify scripts for 2.8 to work with 3.0 cwm AFTER you installed it via 2.5.x red cwm. :-/
Did you make sure you had the current .zip files from the new SuperClean thread? Some earlier ones had problems with installing on 2.8 and Adry had to update the files to work.

Ah it's cool haha. DarkREVENGE has the gtg tw launcher or CrushD's edited GTG Tw launcher?? You tried it yet, does it have working notification bubbles? Oh haha. I like the look of the new tw launcher very much, ever since froyo they actually made it much better looking.. especially with the sick color scheme. Reminds me of the Galaxy S2 which I'm guessing that's the direction they were headed.
EDIT: Now just need to get dem sick widgets from the Galaxy S2 ova to the Fascinate and my life would be set. Haha..
Hello,
My camera was not working so I backup my Bionix rom, my apps with titanium, etc. I did a new install of Bionix and then updated the OverStock v1.3 kernel using recovery screen. My phone will not boot up. I think I should have updated the kernel through an app that does that, so I messed up.
I am unable to go into recovery. I am able to get to download mode. I am downloading the tool box for vibrant along with the bionix rom. I have never used the vibrant tool box, but my questions:
1. Can use vibrant tool box under download mode and install a new copy of bionix without loosing info of the internal memory card?
2. If I use Oding3_V1.0 and install Eugene_2e_jk2 (like I originally did a long time ago), would I loose the info in the internal memory card?
3. Is there another, easier way to get bionix install and not loose my internal memory card?
I would appreciate any help. I am downloading both programs and it is tacking a while, so any help would help a lot while I wait.
whatever you do it shouldnt wipe your internal sdcard....but i do suggest to just odin back to stock

Thanks a lot! That is a good to know. I was worried I would loose all the info in the internal card.
Do you know if there is a newer version of the eugene with root? Or what would you recommend as the latest stock with root for odin?
Thanks again!
this one has never failed and is the easiest to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047087
I see it says ** Re-partition is checked now in ODIN - THIS IS APPROPRIATE!! **
I just want to make sure that if check this, my insternal sdcard, that is part of the phone memory, wont be formatted, correct?
Sorry for the questions, but I don't want it to go wrong!
yes it wont be formatted ...the only thing it format is the system file

Thanks! Just started the process!
The problem started when after I flashed the recovery with Odin. When I booted into the recovery and tried to install the superuser zip file I keep getting this message: "E:cant copy META-INF/google/android/update-binary". I get this message when I try to flash a Rom: "E:Can't open /sdcard/update-unamed-1.3.1-full.zip". I've been trying to flash the CM7 nightlies and the "Unamed" Rom. Any help with this will be much appreciated.
Also, I ended up having to install superuser via SuperOneClick
Honestly, I stopped trying after the phone kept confusing me with SD Card, External Card, and Internal Card/External SD Card BS it was giving me.
I just left my phone rooted, lol.
Sometimes, this tends to happen if you rooted your phone with an anti-virus software running on your PC which can hinder the rooting process. (always the case with my HTC Inspire 4G). So turning it off could allow you to re-download Odin, and run the program again to root it again so it can install the proper files.
Once you get it re-rooted, get into CWM, do a backup, and Clear your Cache, Data and reinstall the ROM from your Internal Card or External Card (which ever you used to place the ROM in).
Good luck.

CWM and root are not even related....
root is root access to your OS /system and its functions. it has nothing to do with RECOVERY or anything outside of a RUNNING OS. i wish everyone would understand that.
as long as CWM is there, AND WORKING PROPERLY, rooting has nothing to do with it. you can flash a new rom from bone stock OS, as long as you have the CWM kernel.
@OP, you have these files (roms) located on the INTERNAL SD right?
I think that's why @homescrub said:
"and run the program again to root it again so it can install the proper files."
Proper files being cwm. As of yet I don't know of a way to install cwm without root on this phone. I know the captivate previously allowed an update to be flashed using stock recovery to get cwm.

how do you flash CWM?
through ODIN
that does NOT require root. you dont flash it via ROM manager....so whats the need for root to add CWM?
and what is this 'proper files' crap? you either have CWM or you dont, its not half-assed
