I planned on using ODIN, also there is so much info on this site im a bit overwhelmed.
Do you have any ROM suggestions? I dont know what I should try next.

I meant to say can I put Ka6 modem on my 2.2 rooted vibrant running JK2

I'm using Vibrant 2.9.1 with Overclock 2.2.1. Fast and works well. I just moved over from a BlackBerry a week ago so I love it.

As far as what rom to run I think you need to try a couple of them out. It's kinda a personal taste. I am running trigger 2.9.1

Here it is folks, in its bloated, ugly, and nasty touchwiz self. Kernel is included in the package. Rooted and busybox, only.
How to install, coming from Eclair:
1. Boot phone to download mode, and flash modem via Odin. Use pda button.

2. Boot to clockwork recovery, and wipe data/factory reset. Then install rom.

3. Before rebooting, also install the new clockwork package.

Is EB01 the froyo version coming out later this month? Or is this another build before the final version?
Awesome, can't wait to try this tomorrow!

It's supposedly official.
Im running it now - if you go to software update it says its disabled on engineering builds. That would lead me to think it will be recompiled again, even if for no good reason.
Does anyone know if DL30 Themes work on the new build?
So if I'm on DL30 the leak all I need to do is flash the EB01modem.tar and flash EB01 in recovery to run this?

I would think so Grimis...and I would do a full wipe just to play it safe...wipe the dalvik cache, etc.

How might i flash the EB01 radio with Heimdall? I have tried. I am currently running the DJ05 radio with DL30 superclean 1.0
It was my understanding that a froyo update to the SGS line brings the necessary bootloader modification that is needed for our phone and heimdall to work together. DL30 is froyo... ostensibly that means we have the modified bootloader.
When i try to flash the EB01 radio with heimdall, i hit start, and it says it cannot find a compatible device. Can anyone shed any light on this?
If I'm on dl30 can I just flash the modem? I love my current setup

Bionix-v 1.3.1 for Telus Fascinate

Have anyone put Bionix-v 1.3.1 rom on there Telus Fascinates? I'm new to all this and don't want to brick my phone. So far Ive rooted it and installed Supercurio's Stock+Voodoo kernel. Ive seen that if there is any bootloader in the rom it will brick. Is there any in this rom?
Thanks
Put this in Captivate, you may get more answers.
Samsung Fascinate, Verizon
EB01 Superclean 2.4
Kenesis' TransMyst GBKB (EPIIIIIC)
Mob87's Honeycomb Theme
Stock Kernel
Any one knows whats the biggest difference between Darky's and Bionix?
Thanks!

this might help actually.
read carefully about sbl.bin & family (!) if you don't want to brick your phone
Hey.
I thought i could offer some insight, even though i'm pretty new to the scene myself.
I had flashed bionix 1.3.1 onto my telus fascinate as well, and it did not have a bootloader. You might want o to follow the link v260 posted and double check the zip file.
I did not keep it for too long since as i read elsewhere on the forums, bionix did not give me a working gps. I'm not sure if others experienced it, but i also noticed a bit of battery drain (with and without voodoo enabled).

[Q] Original Android stock firmware download link

Hi guys, I need to install the stock firmware (original) on my Vibrant T595. Where can I download the original android 2.2.1 firmware?
Thanks,
Dinesh.
Vibrant android developement/stickies/bible
Project-V 6-5-11
Hmm... T595?? T959 Maybe?
Stock = JFD (not 2.2.1)
Check my signature.
I installed the I-9000 build (JVH_JV3_JPO) and flashed it on my Vibrant using ODIN. The home button is not working. Also, I cant hear the recipient's voice on calls. Any fixes? Or should I go back to one of those custom ROM?

Yeah you shouldn't have done that if you are not using an I9000. If you are using a Vibrant, use the guide in s15274n's signature to go back to stock JFD and then flash a custom 2.2.1 rom if that's what you want. There is no stock 2.2.1 made specifically for the Vibrant, only ports from the I9000.
After a lot of trouble, I finally managed to install the team whiskey ROM. Is there any news when will gingerbread will be rolled out for vibrant?

[Q] Is the "Bullet 1.420Ghz" kernel compatible with Stock 2.2 firmware? -Vibrant
Just a quick question, is the Bullet 1.420Ghz kernel compatible with stock 2.2 firmware?
Phone- Samsung Vibrant
I've been averaging decent battery life with this on Bi-Winning.

You can answer your own question...
Bi-Winning= 2.2.1 if it works for that then I'm sure it'll work for stock firmware, just try it anyways if your scared then don't. But always remember to keep Odin handy just in case.

[Q] Stock rom T959UVJFD!

Is T959UVJFD the latest stock rom for Tmobile's Vibrant?
No, JFD is the stock rom Vibrant originally shipped with. It is Android 2.1
Since then Samsung has released two updates. JI6 and KB5. KB5 is 2.2.
I suggest reading the guides before you do anything. If your phone is completely stock you can download Samsung's Kies Mini onto your computer and upgrad to stock 2.2 via kies mini.
If you want something custom, check out the dev section but deffinately read the guides and ask lots of questions.

Make sure your friend doesn't have any roms installed or voodoo or anything like that before using kies mini.
also if you want root, you should look in the dev section for "stock kb5 deodexed and rooted"
Kies mini will update you to kb5, but it is not rooted.

Ahh makes much more sense now about the kb5. And kies mini worked like a charm and I've rooted his device with superoneclick! Thanks again!

I think Ka7 and Kb1 were leaks, nothing ever official. I might be wrong, I think the only official ones were JFD, JI6 and KB5. I may be wrong though.
Can these be installed via Rom Manager?

As far i can remember, ka6 was the first "official" froyo for the vibrant, it was available through kies (thought it was ka7, but now I remember clearly it was ka6) then another update through kies was kb5? Kb1 was a leak?
So 3 updates i guess

Not that it really matters but KB5 was official and released direct from Samsung via Kies Mini. It did not come OTA via T-mobile but it is the latest official non-leaked ROM direct from Samsung.
