[Q] Original Android stock firmware download link - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I need to install the stock firmware (original) on my Vibrant T595. Where can I download the original android 2.2.1 firmware?
Thanks,
Dinesh.

Vibrant android developement/stickies/bible

Hmm... T595?? T959 Maybe?
Stock = JFD (not 2.2.1)
Check my signature.

I installed the I-9000 build (JVH_JV3_JPO) and flashed it on my Vibrant using ODIN. The home button is not working. Also, I cant hear the recipient's voice on calls. Any fixes? Or should I go back to one of those custom ROM?

Yeah you shouldn't have done that if you are not using an I9000. If you are using a Vibrant, use the guide in s15274n's signature to go back to stock JFD and then flash a custom 2.2.1 rom if that's what you want. There is no stock 2.2.1 made specifically for the Vibrant, only ports from the I9000.

After a lot of trouble, I finally managed to install the team whiskey ROM. Is there any news when will gingerbread will be rolled out for vibrant?

is it normal? that meen that i have T959UVJI6 update?
Try and Odin back to Stock JI6, JI5, or even JFD. There are roms for all in the dev section.

That is normal, Bionix 1.6 is based on JI6.
Sorry about that, didn't quite understand your question. As Master has said for the reasons stated above you have the latest and greatest (unless you want to put Eugene's 2.2 on there).
So you flashed back to stock using Clockwork? Something's fishy here.
What do Firmware version, Kernel version, and Build number say?

i had the stock version rooted, i flashed with the Bionix 1.6 and then i used the Clockwork to bring the stoke backup....
and when i check it is showing:
Firmware version 2.1update1
Kernel version 2.6.29
Build number ECLAIR
Baseband Version T959UVJI6
So just to make sure, when you hold down the Home button and it brings up the recent Apps menu does it have a Task Manager link at the bottom?

This is normal. Flashing back to stock will not change your kernel or baseband. Only using Odin to get back to stock will do that.

This. ^ Basically if you flash a new base band and than use a nandroid to go back to a different backup you will still be on the previously flashed base band because nandroid does not back up kernels or base bands. Only odin will get you back to a previous base band

Then you are NOT actually on JI6 and as the two previous posters have said, you are on the stock JFD, but with JI6 baseband. Sounds like you need Odin.

[Q] Vibrantfroyo_R3 downgrade

Hello,
I flashed Vibrantfroyo_R3.zip, should I go to stock ROM if yes, which firmware, or can I just flash directly Vibrant9.zip?
Cheers

Should be able too. I've flashed from Froyo to Bionix, masters rom, etc. I think Vibrant9 is the same. FYI, Eugune just posted in his Froyo build that he fixed most of the issues.
Just make sure whatever you flash has a 2.1 kernel bundled with it. Otherwise you'll brick your phone.

Modem Question

Hey guys, new here. I read a "how-to" and sucessfully rooted my Vibrant, im running ADW launcher and the honeycomb theme, and im loving it so far. But like i said im new here and was wondering if I can put JK6 on my vibrant?
im rooted and running 2.2 froyo JK2.
I planned on using ODIN, also there is so much info on this site im a bit overwhelmed.
Do you have any ROM suggestions? I dont know what I should try next.
open to suggestions, thanks!
Im using ka6 w/voodoo modem and its blazing fast for me here in orlando
Using Bionix V-1.3

I meant to say can I put Ka6 modem on my 2.2 rooted vibrant running JK2
I'm using Vibrant 2.9.1 with Overclock 2.2.1. Fast and works well. I just moved over from a BlackBerry a week ago so I love it.

As far as what rom to run I think you need to try a couple of them out. It's kinda a personal taste. I am running trigger 2.9.1

Volume buttons are messed up after flash

I rooted my vibrant, installed CWM,update voodoo on stock froyo, but couldn't get the voodoo lagfix work(can't mount, file existing errors). So I disabled lagfix and flash a stock 2.1, upgrade to 2.2, and then flash in the voodoo 5.5 with Odin.
It works now but somehow in between the process, it messes up my volume buttons. Up is now Down and Down is now Up, I remember this behavior in CWM too but I thought that's how it works in CWM. So I guess it's not OS's problem. However, I'm not really familiar with linux so I really need your help. I'd appreciate any input.
Are u sure u didnt flash a i9000 rom and/or kernel?

Ummm, I think I flashed in the i9000 kernel. I thought it would work....So, since I don't see a froyo kernel for vibrant, there is no way to fix this?
If so, i'll flash back a stock JFD and just wait.

If you head over to the vibrant android development forum there is actually an array of different roms you can try with different kernels. I would however suggest odin back to stock first and see if that fixes your mapping problem, just to make sure it's software and not hardware related.
Theirs ur problem their is 2 kernels for vibrant(i think) flash one of those and u will b good....last resort odin back to stock

Wait...so you flashed an I9000 kernel and it still booted? Maybe I will try investigating if we could just port kernels from the galaxy s phones.
But anyway..just boot into download mode and reflash one of the custom kernels for the 4.0.

I flashed STeVEs-3.0-EU kernel but it didn't fix my problem!!
I will post video and you can see the problem on my device.
I think a dev should make a sticky to bricks. They are coming up too often now.
Also if it booted, it's not bricked.

Why would you flash a i9000 kernel on a YP-G1 ? What kernel did you flash, we're going to need that kernel to see what happened!

I downloaded "CF-Root-JP6-v1.2-Busybox-1.17.1.zip"from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
The file which I prepared for my i9000,but when I' m going to flash my YP-G1 kernel,I selected the wrong file.
get odin, stock firmware, and flash the stock firmware with odin
I have the same problem since I've flashed a kernel for the Galaxy S.
My Galaxy player has not booted.
I have flashed Steves ROM and since that I have the same problems.
I've found so far no solution.
The flash of the stock firmware did not help.
I have also tested other ROMS.
Did you're player run 2.3 or 2.2 stock, because that would make a difference. If it ran 2.2 then therea you're problem isolated.
Infact I just noticed you said touch button, so are you sure its not US?

Here is the 2.2.1(INTL)stock rom download link : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/60441441/G1ZSKC5-REV01-PDA-low-CL976041.tar.zip
The link is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850
Thank you.
I'll try it.
EDIT: Hooray, it worked.
Yes in this case when flashing with odin 2.2.1 rom is better at resolving problems then 2.3.6.
