This is the official T-Mo MT3GS Froyo release?
Be careful with this. It is an exe file. Win32 executable, your phone can do nothing with this.

Well, gee, it's identical to NB_Mod since I'm the one who did all of the grunt work for CR_Mod and NB_Mod. I had found a flaw in their OTA server many moons ago and pulled the OFFICIAL 2.15.531.3 release and made it into NB_Mod.
DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DEVICE TO UPDATE TO THE OTA - USE NB_Mod INSTEAD.
Not to nitpick but want to know. Your mod is 2.15.531.1 and this is 2.15.531.3. What would be the difference?
Sent from my Red T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA Premium App
This is the official offical froyo released yesterday from the HTC website for use with HTC sync. IT DOES BREAK ROOT. But that's friggin obvious.

Aww crap, I didn't notice that. I'll get to work making NB_Mod for 531.3 tonight. I could have sworn that I was working on 531.3 at some point... odd. Anyways, historically the differences between 531.1 and 531.3 have been extremely minor and tend to only affect 1 or 2 apps in a very small amount.
That's cool I was just wondering. Still using your rom and now your kernel. Running smoothly.
Sent from my Red T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA Premium App
Is there a one click root for the slide?
Or adb only way? Thinking about maybe rooting wifes slide, I rooted my evo through adb so I know some of it... Just wondering about easy way for slide...
Also is nb mod just a tweaked stock rom?
Thanks

lol, you sound like you took that personal nbetcher. i am under the impression that this is different from cr's 2.2 and that your mod was a polished version of the same source as cr

Same source, yes, but mine is the updated version since CR is otherwise occupied. Truth be told, I did most of the work on his ROM though since we didn't have a stock RUU available (I had to manually apply each update). Personal? Not really, just want to set the record straight.

Yup - I took it apart already, but it's basically a lot of work to tell if anything changed. Plus there's really no way to know what changed. Just recompiling their source code can cause the resulting binary files to differ (because of timestamps and other minor changes). I'll update NB_Mod to 531.3 in the next week or so.

HTC came out said late august early september, in light of this recent news is anyone taking the OTAs?
I've taken all the OTAs without any problems. Phone works great and I have no problems with Free3vo.
Since HTC came forward and said they will unlock I'm debating updating mine.

+1 I recently got a warranty replacement for mine and I debated taking the update for a couple days. I finally decided to do it because the current temp root exploit works with both software versions. I really don't see much point in not taking the update.

Because the OTA updates the bootloader (from v1.30 to v1.40... I think). The current root exploit is only for the OS and when/if s-off is acheived from our devs it may only work on the earlier version. Hboot has control over more than just the OS so if the earlier version has an exploit that the newer version doesn't then everyone who took the OTA may very well be screwing themselves out of s-off until HTC does unlock the bootloader. I myself am going to stay away from any and all updates until either HTC or teamwin or anyone else can give us full root/s-off. My phone runs just fine like it is now, on launch day software.
I just updated to the latest ota, now my dialer icon is gone from the app drawer and lock screen. The dialer is there, but icon is gone... Can someone post the apk for me so I can get the icon back? Thanks.

Not sure if this will do anything for you but you might need this as well. I tried to attach it on the previous post but it wouldn't let me. You have to rename it to "HtcDialer.odex". I changed it to a .zip because I kept getting invalid file while trying to attach it.
Why are those two dialers different file sizes?

There is another OTA that fixes the phone icon.
No way OTA.
Just curious after all these weeks and keeping up with the old threads. I'm assuming it's no longer a secret
Many apologies if it's detailed somewhere as I have yet to discover it.
It's not been released yet as to what it does exactly. And hopefully it stays that way... so HTC can't figure it out and stop it in a future update
I'm willing to bet HTC downloaded it like the rest of us, parsed through the file and figured it out fairly quickly. Unfortunately, I downloaded it like the rest of you, parsed through the file and have no idea what any of it is

Nor will you know what it's doing because they didn't release the source and it is nearly impossible to decompile it and figure it out the way they did it. I'm glad they did it this way even though I would like to know, it's just better this way.
It's a binary file. Which means it is extremely difficult to decompile and see the code to know what it's doing. Some strings may show in it, but it's near impossible to know what the rest says without out knowing what kind of data type every bit of data is.

It's only there so that if something goes wrong (bricked phones, etc.) the Revolutionary team can pull the tool and not just have others uploading it and having more phones bricked. They r not interested in getting your serial number because it's unless without the IMEI anyway (as far as I know). Basically if u can't get a beta key you can't run the tool.

So if we have a bestbuy flyer that can't rollback to gingerbread, then we won't be able to upgrade correct?

Ok, I may be barking at the wind here but, is there a way to flash the required components thru fast boot commands (I am not sure if this can be done on the Flyer like it can on the Dell Streak 5) where you would use fast boot commands to flash the individual extracted components, base rom, recovery, radio, etc similar to adb. (since there is currently no proper method for US BB WiFi Flyers to revert to GB)
Cheers

Are there any noticeable changes with the new HC leak?
First of all, I want to say thanks to my 2 incredible testers, blazingwolf and *Madmoose*. They uploaded system and boot for me as well as wiped and flashed over and over and helped me do this.
Also, thanks to Mike1986.,theintelligent, and iBotPeaches for helping me and giving me info on how to deodex, etc.
This is a deodexed and rooted ROM. Completely stock. Nothing removed. No tweaks. Nothing.
This is based of the 1.43.605.3 710RD ROM.
No force closes or anything now. Finally uploaded the new build!
******** To anyone who wants to use it as a base, you can. All I ask is for you to give me credit ********

I recommend using SuperWipe to wipe your ROM. I ported it from Mike1986.'s ARHD script. Credits goes to him and his team. Download is here - http://d-h.st/h7Y

If you just installed this rom, it wouldn't upgrade the radios anyway, you need the full leak to see if anything changed with the radios and/or hboot. I'm guessing no though given the comments in the OP.
