Hello Guys,
Just wanted to know if Dell Streak can play 1080p or 720p Videos or not?
I tried playing mp4/ avi files using Rock Player, they worked with lag, is there any work around?
Have you enabled the hardware acceleration in the build.prop?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I convert them to .mp4's to watch on my Streak.
The Streak is only 800x480 so theres no point trying to play a 1280x720 video.
A converted 720p .mkv file is soooo much better quality than its .avi counterpart.
I use the Touch HD Encoder, a very simple and effective program.
Can I ask what program u guys use to convert the video files?

i use Rock Player from Market to play video files; i try 720p and 1080p mkv movies with subtitles and works perfect 100%, like on computer with hd video card .
there is a great program in the forum called "Encoder" - I have used it to convert videos to mp4 for all my previous phones to play without any lag.
I use arc media player, not come across a file yet that it wont play, everything from avi, to mkv to mp4, in any definition. Great apparently and its free!
Sorry if this is OT:
I am having issues getting my DVDs converted to digital on my desktop. I was trying to use handbrake, but it always came out funny (jagged sound and large rainbow pixels across the screen). I assume this is some kind of copyright protection.
Right no I am desperate to convert my library to digital back ups that I can toss on and off my devices at will. Any insight on how to solve my problem would be great.
I used Handbrake without any probs - did you choose the best settings? I used Presets Normal, Video Codec Mpeg-4 & Picture Size Custom - I resized using Aspect Ratio.
I followed a couple guides online. I m not even talking about it getting to the phone, it won't even play on the desktop.
So far I ve used these settings:
720x480
264
mp4
EDIT: Just for clarity. Should I be using VLC since Handbrake does not decrypt? (I read this after a google search please inform me if I m wrong).
you can play 720p [email protected]

today i find a strange question about galaxy s 2 video recording. i can select video resolution when shooting. then i view the detailed format. there are 3gp and mp4. if it is 720p and 1080p, then the format is 3gp. if it is 720 * 480, then what is the MP4 format. when connected to my Win 7 PC, they are all .mp4 formats. in order to ger correct information, i put them in MediaInfo, all are 3gp format. i uncertainty which format is correct. anyone knows?
any further
Hi
I have the same problem and just wondered if you ever found a work around. I can't believe the phone of the year 2011 has no way to change the recording format to mp4. My wife's Sony experia can send videos through dlna to my Bravia no prob
.3gp is an agglomerate of the video format and audio format, which is .mp4 and .aac. It's normal that some programs will say .mp4 and others .3gp, because some say the format in which the whole file is made on, which is .3gp, and others will only say the video format, which is .mp4.
Hi,
I'm trying to make MP4 files from my DVD archive to play on NT. I'm using MeGUI and I have been through that process a number of time for my PC. However, the problem I have with NT is that it seems it cannot playback 16:9 or other wide formats that have non-square pixels correctly: during playback, it shrinks the video to display it with square pixels. No need to say that the same files play correctly on a PC or other devices (Xbox 360, network media player, etc.).
One solution is to resize the video during encoding. I tried that with HandBrake (couldn't figure it out in MeGUI though) and encoded a PAL 16:9 video (in the standard 720x576 pixels forat) into an MP4 file with 1024x576 pixels. It worked and NT played the file beautifully. Still this process is less than ideal as it reduces the overall quality and wastes space.
Is there any way to keep the original video resolution and still make NT to play it correctly? Also it would be great to know how to do that with MeGUI (HandBrake is fine but misses a few critical features compared to MeGUI).
Thanks,
AlefSin
Hello guuys i wanted to know the settings that you guys use for HD video full screen for htc radar..... NOTE : i downloaded HD videos converted them into mp4 1080p and it worked awesome in radar but a normal 4 minute song was 250mb video file so wanted to ask if anyone knows any settings HD video less than 100mb?
Randomly searching 1080p mp4 size, I got this torrent file:
ht tp:// kat. ph/chris-brown-sweet-love-official-video-1080p-mp4-t6422728 .html
(I don't like this kind of music, I think that video could be even unlegit)
but as you can see, you should use that bitrate when encoding your videos, firstly download that one and try it...

You can check this page for the supported codecs:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff462087(v=vs.92).aspx
I'd suggest you try to sync the original video to your device. Zune will try to convert (if enabled in the settings) the video if it's in an unsupported format.
finished up downloading windows movie maker....
worked first time.
thank you for your help :good:
