If you've waited for so long, why haven't you checked the forum before posting?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1017825

It will be unlocked when it gets unlocked. Just takes time. And yes, you can look at progress of the bootloader cracking via the threads that are titled ''bootloader''. Mods should delete this thread.

What does it mean to have a locked bootl0ader?

?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
It mean you can't get into recovery or download mode.
^ Basically that.
Which in-a-way blocks you from rooting your phone.
There's a method somewhere in the general seccion to root a lock bootloader. I have the link on the lap ill try post it later

Yes, there are workarounds, but what i meant is like a locked bootloader is there usually to STOP rooting.
If people couldn't root locked bootloaders, there wouldn't be motorola phones on xda haha...
That's true
There goes my chances of getting an atrix

They released the key to the Motorola bootloader today over Twitter, basically all motorola phones can now unlock their bootloader. Crazy thing is, the hacker gave 3 notices that he would release the exploit, but they never contacted him.

I thought it was strange that 2 days after j.Anderson started posting the bootloader was bypassed and he got a ban. Anyone else notice that?

You obviously didn't look very hard... whatsoever.... I mean, you didn't look at all actually. And that's quite discouraging.
You don't even have an international Atrix which was a bit of a struggle. It is dead simple to unlock the bootloader on your phone. But I won't tell you how. If you can't find the thread and read the instructions on your own you'll probably fail. If you can find the thread and still have questions I'd be more than willing to help though.

Well there isnt anything indicating that you've found what you were looking for, I'm not quite sure what you mean by me being 10 years late and I do know for a fact that a little searching around the development forums you would have found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011243 at the top of the page just where I said... oh and all questions are supposed to be posted in the Q & A section...
you gotta unlock the bootloader first then flash a boot.img w/ system write enabled then flash a recovery then the modules and then the superuser.zip to get root access...

You're right beaups, let me break it down:
-From the CID.apk method, I got the "VZW_001" in abd fastboot oem readcid, which I heard is a no go.
-At HTCDev I got the error code #160 message (MID Not allowed) when I pasted the token ID (from start to end, excluding the word INFO) that I obtained from fastboot oem get_ identifier_token.
-RUU.exe stated not to be able to update my device to 1.15xxx from 2.4.605.2
I don't know what else to do. I cannot retire my Droid 4 just yet because of that. Your help would be very appreciated.

Ok. Has your phone already taken the update? (What software version are you on?). If its been ota'd, there is no unlock method for you currently. And based on what I've found so far, there may not be one any time soon.

Yes I had an update as soon as I slipped my SIM card in. I am running the 2.4.605.2 version right now. Can the Jcase's exploit help me change the CID in order to unlock the bootloader via HTCDev?

As this is my first post I beg of you to take it a little easy on me. I am currently on the new OTA and have had the DNA for 5 days. I realize the lockdown on this phone is particularly harsh with this update so I am curious if I can return the phone to Verizon for a non-updated new one but I will need some type of ammo to go in there with to really get them to exchange it. The only problem I have had so far is that my financial pages for paying bills (Verizon included) and my expense reporting will not load. Perhaps this is a java error that the OTA may have caused and I am sure Verizon wants their money so that will be a way to win.
Are there any major issues with the current OTA I can add to my complaint list to get my hands on another one?
And yes, it is very rude to ask a dev if they are coming close to a solution but I am curious if it will be all for naught and the workaround is on the horizon or in the near future. I'm sure it's on many new owners' minds and they are scared to ask so let the noob bashing begin on me. I can take the abuse.
Knowing my luck I will come home from the store and blammo beaups and jcase have cracked it.
Update : Called Verizon, made claim, got a new in box sealed DNA, brought it home and went to work on it!
Proud owner now of a rooted, unlocked, s-off, rom and custom kernel running, new OTA radio, future updates from Verizon ota's blocked, bad boy of a DNA!

[Q] Have stock Amaze4g . Want to flash ARHD

I am not a total noobe. I used Hasoon's to unlock my bootloader. It is now relocked. Phone is s-on. I have been reading that I can flash ROMs with the phone in this state. I want to flash ARHD because I have heard it improves battery life, which now sucks. When I try to flash 4EXT from Hasoon's, I get the following error: Signature Checking: FAILED (remote signature verify fail). I don't want to mess up. Is anyone willing to give me some helpful hints for doing this without bricking my phone?
First, wrong section. Two, read. Just read. Rooting, setting up a recovery for the Amaze is very easy. Like I said, as long as you read, you will be fine.

when you flash a ROM that is not signed, you need to disable signature checking prior to flashing the ROM, otherwise you will get the error message. You are not a noob but a novice
Your not suppose to help them when they post questions in the wrong section that just encourages them to do it again. Especially over a question they could have googled
