In the past couple of weeks I've been getting screen freezes and I'm wondering if anyone else has been having a similar problem and what it might be based on? My screen will lock up completely and will stay on. The haptic buttons will still blink but not actually do anything, and the only thing I can do is a battery pull. This has happened to me on SC 2.9.2 but also happened once or twice on the AOSP Rom that's in the Dev section. Does this sound like my phone is overheating or something like that? Could it be Voodoo, which I've always used? I can't really see what else could be the cause considering it's happening on different roms. Am I the only one experiencing this?
I am having the same exact problem and i have no idea what the culprit could be. I love my phone, but the freezing is starting to get overwhelming

Am I the only one experiencing an overly sensitive Sense UI? Perhaps I'm missing a setting. I have looked all through /etc and can't find any way to adjust the sensitivity.
Anyone have a solution?
Touchscreen Spaz-out
I will say: occasionally my touch screen will just go bat-**** crazy, registering even the slightest movements as "clicks". The phone is completely unusable; god help you should you be in the lock screen.
Now, after observing this for a couple of days I have a hare-brained theory: it's related to how hot the device is. I've noticed that it happens after extended periods of use, or when it's plugged into the wall charger. Just unplugging it grants a short reprieve, and a refractory "cool down" period generally fixes it. Also it'll work sorta if you press down on the screen like you're trying to kill your phone.
Can anyone else confirm this?
I was getting a lot of the jitteryness and screen lockups before I loaded MR2, everything seems pretty fine now. I had more problems with my wife's myTouch than the eris for once last week.
I do not have any issues like this (I do have all the updates though)

I was using my Vibrant tonight and for some reason the screen started flickering. Lines also flashed across the screen randomly. Never dropped it, never fell in water or anything.
Ive tried different kernels and its done the same thing. Never overclocked.
Today, its been doing the same thing. I turned off automatic brightness and it seemed to hinder the flickering and lines, but I dont want to risk it.
Sounds to me like the screen is going bad.
Sent from my SGH-T959
call tmobile tell them issue, get a refurb, because this obviously isn't from flashing random kernels and stuff. Odin to stock though, just in case i mean they can still see your screen, odin then call then send back .
My Vibrant is currently running stock KB5.
About every two days or so, I will be using the phone, and the colors on the screen will suddenly wash out, screen goes to max brightness, whatever is on the screen at the time stays up, and there will be two or three horizontal thin lines on the screen. The Menu, Home, Back, and Search keys all light up. The touchscreen and all buttons, including the power button, become unresponsive. Screen will not timeout. Only way to get out of it is to remove the battery and reinsert. If I am in the middle of a phone call, I am still able to continue speaking on the phone.....but can't hang up, adjust volume, etc.
I haven't tried any other ROMs since KB5 was released, so hard to say if another ROM would solve the issue. Don't flame me for sticking with KB5. I don't need my phone to do a lot....really just use it for calls, music player, Sirius, Google Maps/GPS, light web browsing. I'm not really opposed to running another ROM, I just found it to be a pain in the butt to be constantly switching ROMs as they are updated.
Anyone else experience this problem? Hardware or driver problem? If anyone else did have this problem, did switching to another ROM solve it for you?

No mods whatsoever. Completely stock, not rooted.
This has been bothering me for some time now, every so often my screen will start to flicker but then goes away. What does It mean at times it goes all black then I see stripes from either left or the right sides...
My screen does this at times also. Although it is pretty annoying, it doesn't seem to cause any issues that I have been able to find.m it seems as if it happens when running graphically intense games/apps/or web pages. But, there really is no rhyme or reason to when this occurs. It is completely random in my experiences. I just hope it isn't a sign of failing hardware...

what firmware are you on? if its happening on any rom it may be a hardware problem? try flashing a different rom and see if it cures the problem.

I can leave my phone plugged in and charging and quickly check a text message and reply, and my phone will be fine. But if I try to use my phone any more than that, the display gets strange artifacts (it's different every time, ranging from a dark grid overlayed on top of the image to the screen filled with different colors on each pixel) and sometimes the speaker emits a constant loud high pitched noise, even if it's on silent. I noticed one of the times that the sleep button worked, but using the touch screen and the capacitive buttons is impossible and I have to yank out the battery every time it happens. I'm running a recent CM10.1 nightly and default kernel, and I've experienced this problem independent of which nightly or kernel I'm using for the past few weeks (I have had no problems in the recovery menu). It even crashed one time upon boot up when I tried to unlock the phone immediately. Another minor problem is that my home screens got screwed up one of the times it crashed. It seems like a hardware failure to me. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this problem or has any ideas that might help. Thanks.
It certainly sounds like a hardware issue to me. I have not seen anything similar reported on these forums. Is the phone currently stock, or custom firmware? The best test to see if the problem is firmware or hardware related is to flash a fresh stock firmware using Odin3. If the problem goes away, then it is obviously a firmware issue.
If it is a hardware problem, you may have trouble flashing a fresh stock firmware, or may not be able to at all. Or if you are able to flash a new stock firmware, but the problem does not go away, then it is probably hardware.
