I had been using google voice search for a while now. And I thought that would try Vlingo out to see which one I like best. After trying them both now I think I am going to continue using Vlingo. I think it has better voice recognization. Which one do you like better and why?

Vlingo - because it works best with my voice. Google's voice recognizer doesn't seem to pick up my words as good as Vlingo, so I stuck with Vlingo.
i use both, google search has integration for things vlingo doesn't (music, alarm clock)

I believe I've tried every one on the market, and they all seem unstable and shakey to me. Except for tmobile visual, but the UI for that makes me sick.
Can anyone share any voicemail apps you may have found outside the market, or even from they market that alot of people may not know about?

Why don't you try out Google Voice for your voicemail? It's really easy to set up and you even get voicemails transcribed for you.
Unstable and shaky?
I use google voice to handle my voice mail and works great.

So I'm currently using MIUI ROM on my Android Incredible and it has VoIP already integrated into the system for calling, i have that paired with PBXES.org and Google Voice for my VoIP setup. I was wondering if there are any other ROMs that possibly have more of complete integrated system with Google Voice and VoIP so that even the ROM's default messaging app opens up google voice messages without needing service or the Google voice app; I don't have actual service on my android phone I rely on wi-fi integration with google voice right now.

I have a similar question too. I just want sms integration so I can use things like Iris and such.
All I've found are ROM's with calling integration only

I installed CM7 build 08082011 on my Inspire 4G, and I've been using it for a few months and TTS has never worked (Navigation, Speaktoit, Voice Dialer etc.); it always FCs.
I've tried v. 2.0 and 3.1.
Any ideas?
Tts need voice search.apk as well. Do you have it?

I do; and Voice Search works well actually. Voice Dialer however has never worked; it pops up and never says anything (i.e. "Speak Now"), and doesn't take my commands either.
I had force close last time. But I forgotten that I've frozen my tts library or anything about voice command. Once I defroze, everything works.

I'll mess around with that and get back.
Okay, apparently there's an app called TTS Service. I had it uninstalled for some reason. I restored it (thank you TB) and everything's awesome.

+1 Google voice
It has so many features that att voicemail can't do. It will transcribe your message so you can read it, it can automatically send that transcription to you via text or email. You can choose the order of playback of your messages, and you can rewind or fast forward them.

+2 for google voice. The transcription isn't perfect, but any errors are usually really easy to figure out.
I've had a google voice number since it wasn't even google voice (grandcentral), I've played with it off and on over the years but never used it. They've added a few features!
Installed the app on the my android for the first time yesterday and yea i'll +3 that for the visual voicemail.
Thanks everyone!
love my google voice once you get it set up.. just sit back and enjoy
+1 for Google voice, I tried Youmail and it seemed like there was always a delay in notification.
i used to have Youmail back in my BB days. But +10000 for google voice. Its much better, IMO.
I use the Phonefusion app. It's free and also does transcription. Seems to work fine, although the app is ugly as sin. I have Google Voice as well, but I don't use it as my main voice mail.
The AT&T Messages app will do VVM with your native mail and give you some other Google voice type functions. I don't like the delay for google voice vmail to pick up if you don't reject the call.

Does anyone know how to get google voice voicemails to show up in the touchwiz dialer(I have the setting checked in GV)? Evidently, they don't play well together. Is there a work around?
bump
As long as I can remember google voice notifications only appear in the pulldown notification area as notifications from google voice as an app. I am not aware of any dialer integration other than for when making calls the option to run the call through google voice.
Prior to using google voice there would be a message waiting indicator that would only clear once you dialed your vm and listened to your new messages, this is somthing that to my understanding is only able to be controlled by your carrier not an app.
Hope this helps!

I am looking for the same functionality. For those that may not know exactly what is stated in OP, Google voice has an option for voice mails to appear under the call log with the option to playback workout using GV. It works under AOSP roms. This functionality would be great on stock touchwiz, bit its not a deal breaker for me. Interested if anyone has found a way.
