[Q] How do I change signal icons? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running virus rom with Honeycomb theme from retrokid and am trying to change just the signal bar using UOT kitchen, I made my zip and flashed it but it only changed the clock and not the icons

The best thing to do would be just building that theme from scratch with your ROM's framework.res in UOT. I've never had luck theming over a theme. Seems like it could get messy... restore to a backup pre-theming and go from there.

signal bars are in com.htc.resources.apk not in framework-res.apk so that is more than likely your problem.

Thank you I got it

[Q] Ugly notification icons & custom animation un DJ Steve 1.5.2

Good evening all,
I update to 1.5.2 this evening and i really don't like custom windows animation and notification icons.
Can somone give me framework-res.apk from dell stock rom, i want to try install it on 1.5.2.... or another method to install old icons and windows animation.
Thanxx
you can always put your framework-res.apk through the UOT kitchen and pick out the icons you want and not add any animations:

I install framework-res.apk from DJ Steve 1.5.0 and it work. that's the solution. thanks to him on IRC...

I happened to love the stock 318's notification bar/icons/color scheme (esp. the addition of H icon on top of 3G and E, switches depending on my connections) + Gopu's battery circle percentage tweak.
Do you think I can install the Stock framework-res.apk on top of Steve's 1.5.2 and apply Gopu's cicle battery tweak?
Thanks.
I think so... If you do it, tell me if it work and post a screenshoot

This should do the trick http://uot.dakra.lt/ You just upload the relevant files to your rom, works with everything, it takes you through everything.
ok i gave it a shot as i thought i failed i have grifs cyangen rom i used the kitchen clicked transparency in status bar, hdpi uploaded framework and systemui but no luck in transparant statusbar if i upload the 2 required files would someone be so kind?
oh forgot to add i rebooted into clockwork recovery mounted the phone then installed the zip file.
There are some mods in the themes and apps subforum which already prepares it for you

All things except lockscreen worked from the UOT kitchen.. but before doing kitchen use your own firmware framework files rather than attached ones ...
For transparent status bar ur launcher should support the transparency...
Btw golauncher and laucherpro doesnt support status bar transparency....

UOT Kitchen with ICS???

Has anyone got the UOT Kitchen working on the Galaxy S2 running one of the ICS ROMS (either ported or leaked stock) to be able to change the battery and status bar icons?
I'm trying to create a plain white set of icons and white circle battery to match more with the Google notifications for Music, GMail etc. instead of the TW grey that Samsung uses on their ROMS.
I choose the mods, upload framework and tw-framework, get the zip but it errors out in CWM???
Any ideas???
Is it possible yet?

I don't think it supports ICS yet, also you need to upload the SystemUI.apk because ICS uses that now for almost everything UI related.
I think i read on the i9000 board that you have to select emmc in the edify section. Havent tried it yet though.

I've tried it with uploading 2 files (framework and system) and it would not install the zip. I've also tried it with uploading 3 files (above plus the tw one) and uot kitchen was not able to generate a file.
I tried to change the battery to a white circle one with numbers. In to see if there is a solution to this.

This is what I'm getting too.
If you change to EMMC and upload framework and tw-framework only, it DOES create the zip, but when you install it it only changes some of the icons (the downloading file icon for example.) Not the signal strength, wifi, alarm clock or battery though.
I tried it just gives some error and doant let u download it like ntfs or some other code

Editing a CM7 theme

Is it possible to edit a CM7 theme ?
I've been using this Win7 theme and i've got 2 minor problems
1)Is it possible to change the status car in this theme ?
Ie make the pull down men in status bar semi transparent or transparent ?
2)There's any way to edit only a few aspects of this theme ? By replacing parts of another CM7 theme
Noob question i know ^
http://www.mediafire.com/?51i22zxjmznylr2 LINK
And mod i wasnt quite sure where i should've posted this, so i thought General would be fine
Man do we need an Neo/Neo V Q&A
just decompile the framework and systemUI etc...edit the 9.png files as your liking or just replace them with the images of choice from other theme...for transparency in status bar...i think UOT kitchen may help.
by the way...i am not an expert and dont know much about CM themes...ha ha ha...i have just edited stock themes for my liking...and i dont decompile them...just unzip them and rezip after editing.

Help using UOT Kitchen

I was just wondering if it's possible to use the UOT Kitchen to get a transparent status bar.
I've used the kitchen with CM7 themes, and have never had an issue.
I'm running the stock 2.3.6 ROM, and I can't find anywhere on the site saying wether or not it's possible.
I tried by going throught the proper steps, and uploading the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk, and then flashing the zip the kitchen built me, but it changed nothing.
Anyone managed any level of success with a stock ROM?

Yes, I have used it before, I know this.
I think my problem is that transparency isn't supported in stock odexed ROMs, and that I need to deodex before it will work
