Is it possible to use the ebay app on CM7 2.3.3 RC4, it doesn't show up in market and on the Market website it says that it's not available for my device?
If it is possible to be used is there an apk file anywhere that I can download and put on my sd card and Install using Root Explorer?

Hey guys just got my x10 and was wondering how do i install an app that i downloaded on PC?
also, when in the dialpad, is it possible to type the name of the contact that i want to call instead of dialing the number or going to contacts?
Thanks
Copy the file to your sd card via usb then install using a file explorer. If the app is on market, connect your phone to internet (wifi if possible) and download directly to phone.
In dialpad just numbers, go to phone book and type the name, is just one touch away
Or easier is to download "awesome drop" to get the apk's on your phone and install from there directly. No cables, no searching in file explorer.

Am using CM7 from SD card. How do you install an app if it is on your PC?
I don't have CWM on my NC so if there is a way that doesn't use this great.

I like to use dropbox for things like that. download the client on your nook color then whatever you upload to their website from you computer you can easily sync on your nook color.

Have no problem putting stuff on my SD card. I need to know where (folder) the xxxxxx.apk file is put and how do you run it to install it?

You can put it anywhere. Download Astro from the market to install it.

Using ES File Explorer and went to my PC to transfer an app to my SD card. When I clicked it to copy it ran it and asked whether I wanted to install. So I installed without moving the .apk file.
Question, should the .apk reside where the app will work from or is it not needed?
I personally use awesome drop. Love it on my wireless network.

After you install it you don't need the .apk anymore. Android takes care of it by itself.
The apk is like the original exe file of an installation program at windows system for PC.
After U install a program, U dont care to move the installation file.

Using a file explorer like ES file explorer browse to where you copied the .apk on your sdcard tap on it > select package installed > select install button.

I believe I did that
I did that by going to the file folder (through the mounted SD card notification) and clicking on that file (with .apk) extension. It says file is wrong format.
Is there any installer that I am overlooking?
try with astro file manager from Android market

hmmm hold on did you just buy this device? check the version of the firmaware , go to settings, device info, About your NOOK and let us know what software version do you have. If you're in 1.4.2 and even 1.4.1 you can't sideload. its better if you go back to 1.4.0 where all works well.

Got it.
Many, many thanks!
No, I am in firmware 1.4.0.
Just installed the explorer software and everything is peach.
