I had already rooted my X10mini, but i wanted to install a new Rom and i Format my phone to then follow the steps of [ROM] MiniCM-1.0.0-RC1, Froyo Cyanogen 6.1.3 port for the mini.
Then i use the SEUS to install the original rom and then i try to root the X10mini with several forms, but without sucess.
Can you help me please how to root my phone without problems?

What should I do?

frankly if u already have xrecovery v0.2 working u need not install xrecovery 0.3...
but if u still want to then:
Code:
Manual Installation:
- Download the apk, rename it to xrecoveryZIP
- Unpack the file, find ./res/raw folder inside. It should contain 3 files (chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar)
- copy these 3 files into /system/bin using root explorer (remember to remount /system rw

I have found *similar* threads but not exactly this : Prior to updating to .435 through SEUS, I was able to use Xrecovery 0.2 to backup my system image. I just tried to backup a new updated image, and I cannot access xrecovery. I know the procedure is to hit the back button repeatedly at the white SE logo, and that worked prior to the update, but now it just continues to boot up the phone into normal mode. I tried to reinstall xrecovery with the Xrecovery APK already i the app drawer, but no dice. The backup files I already created are still in /sd/xrecovery/backup. I saw them through root explorer. If this question has already been asked, I am sorry. I did do a search
I am rooted with SuperoneClick. Titanium Backup, Busybox & Superuser all verified working.
Thanks all!
Try the newest xrecovery.

I tried installing 0.3, got the msg "install failed". Think I need to delete v 0.2? I was afraid to do that as I assumed it would take my old backup (pre-.435) with it.
Thanks for the reply.
same here, root explorer is set on RW, titanium is working, busybox installed, but i get the red signs when i try to install xrecovery 0.3

I flashed custom ROM to get 2.1.A.0.435 update and xRecovery is installed(.3) so I recommend that.
I tried both the manual file copy way and the auto install from the APK. identical result from both.. no xrecovery on reboot. I did get a suggestion to try to actually flash xrecovery using the new flashtool .026, which includes an option to install busybox/xrecovery. I will try that as soon as soon my phone charges back up and post the result.
Thanks everyone!
use THIS tool.

Thanks for all the help, tips & advice!!! Got it going. Manual file copy works w build .435! Just need to copy the files from Android/data/ directory on your SD card into system/bin with root explorer on your phone . I had tried repeatedly copying the 3 files from the /res/raw folder from my pc to the phone but it never worked.
Thanks again all.

thnx for da flashtool thing, worked like charm.
After rooting, had some problems with installing busybox and xRecovery. With little googling, I have installed both of them manually.
However, I am unable to boot in xRecovry. I keep pressing the back key on the boot screen, but my phone always starts normally. Not in xRecovery.
Use flashtool to instal xrecovrey, do it this way
1. Attach phone and start flashtool.
2. Goto to application settings on phone and ensure debugging is enabled. Only do this step if flashtool does not connect to your phone.
3. Click on ask root permissions
4. Give flashtool super user rights on your phone
5. Click on xrecovrey on flashtool.
6. Disconnect and reboot phone.
7. St the SE screen hit the back button repeatedly.
That should work

Try factory reset if stil doesnt work then you must flash original SE rom and do everything from begining.
Or maybe if some one from mini thread make you flash zip for sh file.

Hi. I'm a newbie on xda and I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me.
I have a problem with my X10i. It used to run stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread with root access and busybox / xRecovery 0.3 already installed. I decided to install DiXperia 7 'Avenger' by DiKeJ (greetings, buddy) on my device using xR. I downloaded the ROM and pasted it directly into my SD card. Then I did all the steps:
-Factory Reset
-Wipe Cache Partition
-Wipe Dalvik Cache
-Wipe Battery Stats
I choosed Install Custom Zip to install DX7. The console displayed few lines of code which I don't remember and this error:
Code:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(Device or resource busy)
E: Can't mount /sdcard
After this my phone freezes on SE logo, I can't run xRecovery, system or even charge my phone. I tried to flash it using Flashtool, but it doesn't recognize my device.
Is there any chance to resurrect my Xperia? I want to use it again, even with the stock ROM?
Greetings
Yes it possible, and impossible to break your device for now - sometimes this problem exist, don't know why, and not only on my ROM - it's possible on all X10, I had it too one time when I wanted to flash Wolfbreak's ROM v4 (old time ). Let's back to your problem - you need to apply again Stock ROM 2.3.3 - install it via SEUS/PcCompanion (or FlashTool, but I suggest official app. If you can't flash via FT, then you need to update your drivers for X10), and then make Root, Busybox, and xRecovery 0.3, I suggest you GB ready (the newest FlashTool have it included all). Then problem should dissapear, without anything. I think it should help. Take care buddy .
DiKeJ I can't remember. Does Your ROM require an unlocked bootloader?
Sent from X10
Use this tool forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415600
Thank you very much, DiKeJ. My X10 has been saved!
But I still want to install DX7. What did I do wrong (or what's wrong with my SD card)? How can I make it work next time?
Anybody care to tell me how to get any of those methods to work? I got my x10 stuck at the SE logo while flashing, and I can't do anything with it. None of the programs can recognize it and it won't boot into recovery.
can you help me my x10i freeze at "Sony Ericsson" after rooting kernel help me please
im from philippines and i don't think we have sony ericsson care here
can you send me in my email? [email protected] please
I guess the best solution to get ride of this issue is to flash the stock full firmware and then do everything from the beginning.
To do that, you should visit this topic : [TOOL/X10] [UPDATE 07/04/2012] Flashtool version 0.6.9.0
Then flash a generic firmware(you choose whatever you like) using flashtool
Once your phone is booted, you can try to mod it as you wish.
If you would like to change the kernel, I advise you to unlock the bootloader : read the topic
Hope this gonna help

Hi, i have same problem and i try diferent things to make work, and wont work, still Sony Ericsson logo there, i try update service from Sony, any advice? I`m a noob about this.
I try to root the x10 with FlashTool, after that when i try yo flash to update kernel, logo freeze, i wait 10 minute, still freeze.
Can you or someone help me?
Thank you very much!
Edit: I fix the problem, with SEUS and a trick, i plug the usb in phone, press the BACK button, and then put the battery in the phone, and SEUS autodetect my phone, and now is updating.
Repair the phone using SEUS if nothing else give good results

It should work in x10i manong, just start from the beginning which you need apply again the stock 2.3.3 ROM from sony ericsson (sony mobile these days) via PC Suite then Root and install busybox and xRecovery 0.3 and the problem is solved. I tried it to my friend's phone which is x10i also, and it works. Just follow the instructions given by DiKeJ and you'll be fine. :good:
