I live in greece and have a vodafone sim.The phone is unlocked and worked perfectly.
Today i tried to put another sim and it didn'y read it so i tried to change the band (to 1900 from 900) nothing happened.
So I wanted to restore the band but then i realised that i couldn't access the band tab because it wasn't there.
There are no phone settings to change
I tried a hard-reset but nothing changed
Now every time i try to reinstall the T-mobile ROM 4.00.21 i get an error message telling me something about the connection while the same time activesync is on.I put the rom in the SD card but nothing appears.
I'm depressed and don't know what to do
Is there a way to change the band to 900
If not how can i install the same ROM or an older one.
I'm crying for help

1)In case i forgot now it has 1900 band selected
2)when i open thephne it says something to turn on the wireless radio and prompts me to enter a code i think what do i do there

Use the GSM band selector from the boot loader GSM menu

I m from pune and,Recently I activated airtel 3g in my samsung galaxy ace... Bt problem is that I m not getting 3g signal.
In samsung galaxy 3 there are options like dual mode/3g mode,bt in galaxy ace when I go in mobile networks there are this options : enable packet data, data roaming, access point name, mobile operator, use only 2g networks.according to airtel customer care I should chk on enable packet data and unchk on use only 2g network options I did so bt still can't get 3g,signals..
I tried to use 3g signals in many places in pune..bt still I m jst,getting edge connection
Are you sure there is 3G network? If so, did you make sure that in APN list there is the one provided by your carrier for 3G ?

Yups I m sure that here in pune there is a 3g network and as I said I have already unchkd use only 2g network option..bt still can't get 3g signal...so is there any additinal settings that I mst do...

Have you checked your APN settings?
Uncheck 2g mode only. If still you not see 3g symbol at left side of signal then in network setting go network operators and search available networks and choose airtel 3g.if still not get then go into keypad and type *#*#4636#*#* and select option phone imformation and in that you see gsm auto selected. In that choose wcdma only and press turn off radio then press turn on radio now press home button(not back button). You will get 3g. If not then reboot. I hope this will help you
You are using the wrong ROM or MODEM file with a Band Operator that's not supported for your company. Review the frecuency of your operator for 3G. Then, flash your phone with the correct ROM.

I installed the rom version 2.3.4 (vivo - Brazil) in my galaxy s5830L (3g 850/1900MHz). My mobile carrier works with 3G 2100MHz, so I can not connect to 3G only 2G (edge).
Do you know if there is any possibility to enable 2100MHz in s5830L 3G?

Hey really thnks for ur help...bt I want to clear some doubts see as u said i mst select airtel 3g bt problem is in network operators I m jst getting airtel option not airtel 3g.
And in second method after entering that code u said to press home button is it the that big middle button..and how to again stop 3g...
Most imp I chked in samsung monte with same sim card of airtel in same area bt in that mobile 3g signal came immediately...
See I know I m asking u many ? Bt plz try to understand I'm new to this!!

Hey I tried ur method of dialing that code and then changing it to WCDMA mode ..after selecting this option for some time in status it shows no connection like a white circle with cross line in it and after few seconds it again shows Edge connection ..and again u enter that code in that network type option it again automatically gets change to gsm auto!!
Now I m really getting frustrated by this problem I called Samsung helpline they said for using 3g in some mobiles u have to do a Software Update in Samsung Service centre after which u will get that 3g/dual network mode option in ur Mobile network settings like other mobiles, bt I doubt if they can really help me bcozz about 2 months ago I had already done a Firmware update earlier its version was KC1 and after update its version is KC7 which i think is the latest version of Firmware available in India for Samsung galaxy ace. I said this to Samsung technical Support but they say that Software update and Firmware Update are completely Differnet things…
So I want to know whether this Software update and Firmware update are this realy different Or its same. I also suffer from same problem when i use bsnl3g. You should camplain in airtel servise center because it is not fault of mobile but fault of network provider. If you want to chek then insert other sim and uncheck on 2g only and select access poit . If you get 3g then your mobile is not in fault. I want to know that you get 2g internet on that airtel card? And you choose access point?if not then select access point

dude i think u are not reading my posts completely..i can say this bcozz right from my first post of this thread i m mentioning that with same sim card of airtel i m getting edge connection..and the problem is not with sim card its with cell itself bcozz when i tried same sim card in other mobile i immediately got 3g signal in same area..that bcozz after lots of search on google i saw that many are facing this problem of 3g not connecting..its due to a software bug in froyo 2.2.1 so people say only way to solve this problem is we will have to upgrade our froyo to 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 this might solve our problems bt still i have some queries which i have to clear like see if u can ans them :
1. which one will be better to go with android 2.3.3 Gingerbread or 2.3.4 Gingerbread for Samsung galaxy ace I mean which one has less problems and will solve my 3g problem!!
2. after unofficially upgrading to 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 will I be able to officially upgrade to 2.3.5 through kies in future.
3. For upgrading to 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 is it necessary to root the phone..
4. how much time does a whole upgrade process takes if my internet speed is Minimum 1Mbps…
5. How to come back to 2.2.1 Froyo Default version from 2.3.3 or 2.3.4(Steps with video or Img link will be very helpful)
Update to 2.3.4 is realy easy and not require root. You should first download 2.3.4 flash file and after download use odin to install flash file. When official update comes you can downgrade your phone to froyo so kies update it to latest version so chill.

K gr8 ..jst 2 questions how to downgrade back to froyo 2.2.1 I mean steps... And secondly does 2.3.4 gives any problem I mean any hangs, etc...
2.3.4 not hang atall. It remove lags from many games. I use it from 2 months and not get any problem. So just update. And abowt downgrade i post in my blog tomorrow. I hope you undarstand because you need to flash two firmware to get ddkc1(indian firmware)firmware back. So wait for that. But i ensure you that you will not downgrade in near future because gingerbread rocks

Strange I use the same phone no issues getting 3G here in Mumbai on a Vodaphone network. In my phone under settings - wireless and network settings- Mobile Networks- the option of use only 2G networks is unchecked. Let us know if the firmware update rectifies the issue....

I bought ace S5830 from USA (and this phone only support 850/1900 Mhz), but i live in Azerbaijan and here I use mobile operator sim that only have 2100 mhz band for 3G network. Logically, my phone can not connect to 3G network. My question,
1.is it possible change the band?
2. If it is possible, how we can change, upgrade to new firmware ?
p.s. I have upgraded it to GINGERBREAD.UBKP7

Here's my story, about 3 weeks ago i bought my new xperia SP, and first i get the sim card provide by some operator that include the package. And for some reason i have to change the sim card for another operator, but after i change the sim card the signal seems low then the first operator. And i try to get some information about this android phone. And i get this some information that give some advice about setting the signal. And the good thing about it is it can make the battery can last a little longer because the setting set just choose the wcdma only or just gsm only it depends what the best in my area, and can reduce the heating that cause from device always search what the best network if we choose the wcdma/gsm option. And here the thing start. I follow the instruction: first you dial *#*#4636#*#* and the setting window come out. And the choose phone setting, set the network to wcdma only or gsm only. And i choose the wcdma only. After that start to refresh the smsc and update it. After that the instruction said to choose to select the radio band. After i select the radio band my device loose the signal and it just show x in signal bar. After that i try to restart the phone but it come out the same no signal appear. I try to remove and replace the sim card but it steel same, i try to change with another sim card from another operator and it steel same. After that my last choice is to reset my phone to factory setting. And seems it work my signal is back. But after that my phone signal become so weak and recently i got my signal got lost for a view time it just show x but it's not for long the bar seems back again. I start confused is that the advice i choose is wrong ? And there a some info that i got from some search in internet that says upgrade the baseband can make a risk that wifi, LTE signal, and the other connections setting loose they capabilities. I'm so frustated now need help immediately, anybody have some advice or solution? thank you first.

I have the same problem too. I go to the service menu then select the USA band, and I lost the signal. And there is no networks found/available!
The solution is, you need to flash the baseband. First you need to download the newest stock rom (the stock must for your country, you can try asking Google). After that, you download and install the flashtool ( ask to Google too ).
After that, install the drivers (not compatible on Windows 8.1 ), goto C:/FlashTool/Drivers, and run the installer, then select Flashmode Driver.
After you install the driver, move the downloaded rom to C:/FlashTool/Firmwares, then run the flashtool via start menu.
Click thunder icon, select Flashmode, then select the firmware you downloaded.
Make sure that you only flash baseband, not kernel or wipe data, or anything (I forgot where the checkboxes located)
Then, click flash. Turn of your phone. Then hold Volume Down Button, and plug the USB cable that connected to PC, until the illumination bar turns green.
Then wait the process, and it's done.

well Sony is bad, it is normal the XSP got low signal and also this product is discontinued. There will be no any updates again in the future :crying:

that solution is for you accidently choosen the wrong band, and you lost the signal forever. If they are having low signals, try switching from WCDMA to 3G

Ok, sorry for not giving details earlier. I've been using my XSP for 6 months on a 2G connexn, and all was good. Then I tried to shift to a 3G and my problem, on WCDMA only or WCDMA Preferred, I get absolutely no connection, no voice, no data, no bars! GSM only for 2G is still fine. Wifi is working fine.

By curiosity, I tap on the menu "Sélectionner une bande radio" (choose a baseband).
I've only a "United States" choice but after did nothing. I lose all my phone network.
Just the data work and the sms.
What can I do to this ?
I think to flash a baseband firmware but where can I find one ?

Switch your radio band back to automatic? Go to *#*#4636#*#* and click the overview (3 dots) at the top right. Hit select radio band, then hit automatic. Reboot phone.

I try to put network in Only 3G or 2G and got nothing. Maybe that's why there's no call but sms and data. No VoLTE in France.
When selecting United States band (that I didn't want to do), i break the 3G and 2G connection.

I've speak with the Motorola support in France.
In the hidden menu, i've selected the united states band so now I only received the LTE (the only which are the same than here). No 3G and no 2G.
And because We've got no VoLTE, I can't use calls.
And no method to revert this process.
Go in warranty...
Actually there should be a way, because I have the selection:
Automatic
Europe
Automatic
United States
You probably have to update to a current stock ROM so the modem firmware updates and you might be able to select a different baseband... all theory but if you still have the phone, it's worth a try.
edit: I'm using a custom ROM, so I may be wrong.
For you there is no way of using a custom ROM without having problems with warranty.
If still relevant, I made the same mistake with my stock Moto xt1650-03 and the only way managed to restore signal was by using fastboot erase modemst commands. Though I have seen people not recommending this method, it worked for me.

First post on XDA after years looking for solutions for my smartphones here.
I was playing a bit with my Archos 50 Diamond (dual-sim, 2015), in order to use it as my main phone, as my current one is slowly dying. I purchased a new touchscreen I replaced myself as the former one was broken, and tried to put my SIM inside. No signal.
I tried a factory reset. Still no signal. SIM was detected, asked for PIN, but no signal. After searching in several forums, I managed to arrive on Radio Info settings. (code through dialer is *#*#46363#*#*, anyway I cannot access any code through the dialer, don't know why, so I arrive there using an app downloaded on Play Store)
As I was playing around, I chose "Choose Radio Band" and selected USA Band. Big mistake. All frequency were gone (GSM, LTE) and the "prefered network" option is stuck on "WCDMA only". Of course, I live in France, we use GSM/LTE frequencies, so no signal.
Moreover, the "Turn Radio on" button doesn't affect the radio cells.
After a few factory resets, I already tried the following :
- erasing modemst1 and modemst2, through fastboot. It resulted only in erasing IMEI, great. I restored IMEI through "IMEI changer.exe" I found on the web. Both IMEIs came back.
- enabling all necessary bands through CDMAtool (or Qualcomm QSPT/QXDM tools, it's the same process, using Android Diagnostic Mode) - All GSM/LTE bands will appear on the smartphone using an app like "Network Signal Guru". After that, I can change "prefered network" in "Radio Info menu", so this is better that stuck on "WCDMA prefered". But the SIM is now undetected, no PIN is asked, so I cannot even verify if signal is back.
- Adb shell su -c "radiooptions [arguments from 0 to 8, 0 resets, 5 turns on)" _ using option 5 will actually turn Radio on, but no effect on if the SIM is detected or not. By the way, it turns radio cell for 1st SIM, but not for 2nd (we can see it in "About Phone, State" in phone settings)
- Tried to edit build.prop in order to see what I can do, but I couldn't see no effects either.
- Tried to flash NON-HLOS.bin, but didn't help either. I couldn't find fsg file inside my factory firmware image zip.
So for now, I know how to enable bands I need with CDMAtools, and turning on/off radio cell through adb shell or Terminal Emulator. However Radio Cell will turn off automatically on every reboot, need to turn on manually everytime I boot.
But SIM is not detected at all. I'm not sure if there would be some signal if SIM was detected, but it would be great if I could figure it at least.
Phone is rooted, STOCK firmware Android 4.4, no existing custom ROM, can boot into CMW if needed.
I've tried a lot of tutorials, I don't even remember which ones I did or not, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't find solutions on XDA or stackexchange at this moment.

I have asus rog phone 6 and have same problem. after mess with "SELECT RADIO BAND USA BAND, cannot access internet. tried the soltioins from online bootloader erase modem. but not access. when I boot into bootloader it stuck on wait for any devices. asus rog bootloder does not have any settings, its empty.
anyone can help?
