Hi guys, i was wondering who has the oldest X10.
The reason is because i have a 4 month old X10 and since i read about the quality of the usb port, i live in fear everyday when i have to plug my phone to the pc. I used to work for sony ericsson in the time of the w600/w800 so i know very good how they handle the warranty (bad very bad).
I love my phone, but i have to be with it for my 18 months contract. Can this phone survive 18 months? It's a good idea to sell the phone and buy another before it's price decrease?
Thanks for you'r help guys. As english is not my native language, if i had a writing mistake, you can tell me how to write it in the correct way.
I've had mine since the day it was released. No problems with usb, ever... Batterylife is kindof getting silly low these days (like I cant even get through the day anymore with normal use) but that's kindof expected. But USB is just fine. Probably change it for an ARC soon though.
Arc sounds good, i have to wait 18 months for a phone replace . when did this phone get launched?.
I've got mine for one year and five days now...
No problems with the USB port so far.
I've had mine since the middle of march last year so a year and a month.
No problems to report so far and battery life is great (using wolf's 2.2 ROM)
I've had mine since release here in .nl .
It only 1 time went back to repair the usb connector when i couldnt charge it.
further never had any problems.
Hahahaha got mine on my b'dae last year , almost a year in that case . Went to the service center twice only .
Reasons :
1st - My phone got locked due to the security lock i placed and my friend messed it up
2nd - Went for an upgrade for 2.1 as i cant wait lol .
Overall , This is one of the phones thts hardly have problems in sense of quality . But maybe going to change since my lil bro wants it lol . . . .

Hehe, and what phone will you take then ?
April 20, 2010
Almost sold it a few times due to lack of support.
Happy I kept it now and looking forward to 2.3.
Mine's a year old now and it's the best it's ever been. Running Wolfbreak's CM 6.1.3 V06 rom. It's so fast now and the battery life is fabulous.
Last year april 5.
Since it was not released in nl, I shipped it from uk on march 23rd last year
Sent from my X10i TripNMiUI using XDA App
you mean you're using the engineering phone?
which the IMEI code starts from 01 and 02 , and produced in early May?
last year feb
Almost a year now and I find the build quality good. No complaints whatsoever.
Sent from my X10a TripNMiUI using XDA App
No. My IMEI number starts from 35. I bought it very early, but it was not engineering phone.
I've also had my X10 since it was first released. I have no usb trouble, although the charger isn't as snug as it was when it's in the port. And as for the battery, it still lasts me a day, just about.
just don't be playing with it while it's plugged in and you should be good to go. That is what loosens the usb port...
mine's from even before it was released, i think January 2010
working great with wolf's 2.2
I bought mine on 28/5/2010.
I also bought a second battery on 28/12/2010 (it's not a coincidence, both on 28th... PAYDAY! )
I've always had my phone in a case and with screen protector on, so it still looks AMAZING!
Build quality is solid, I love it for that (and many more)!

Hi guys
I'm looking at getting this phone in July when it's released in Canada. I just want to know how many people who bought the most recent phones are having problems with screens (yellowing), and the battery/reboot issues.
I love this phone but now I see all the problems it has I'm not as inclined to buy it...
Thanks,
Elliott

Can you get this thread closed by a mod and then create one exactly the same but add the option "I have no problems"?
i honestly dont have any issues with it..
Crap sorry I forgot that option...
Thanks for the replies
no problems with mine either. best phone ive had - easily.
I have the yellowing screen, but tbh, only when I searched for it, I noticed, on normal daylight outside or inside, while txting or browsing net, by watching movies or playing games, you willl NEVER notice it, unless you are looking for it. and its only when its showing darkgrey color and only when brightness is less than 50%, that was the only condition I was able to see it, any other color will NOT have this issue, and if you have combination of more colors, you have no chance to see it...
This cannot annoy me more than the fact that I will send my SGSII for repair and be without it for 2 weeks and then get it back with new display, but same issue..
Again here ... NO issues at all. Amazingly good phone!,
I have not noticed any battery or spontaneous reboots on my SGS. I bought it in early June.
Neither did I notice the yellow banding, but this does not mean that it is there.
no problems so far
I got my phone a week ago today, had no issues at all its a fantastic android, the best I have ever owned.
5 bad pixels here. No other issues.
No problems at all with the phone, best one I ever had
(and I'm now in my 50's, so I've had a lot of phones)
The unlucky people with problems are a bit like the unlucky HTC Desire owners, when it first came out many had to be returned for repair.
I dont have any of these problems. I got my phone 17th June
My battery used 0% of the battery while being inactive for 12 hours

It's obviously not. It's not actually possible for it to use 0% of the battery and remain on. Hell - the battery would run dry if it wasn't even in the phone, given enough time, so it's never using 0% unless it's actually empty!!!
fellow canuck here using it on Fido. love it. no problems here. I never turn down my brightness below 100%, seems like a slap in the face to all the engineers who helped develop the super AMOLED+ screen
I got mine 7 days ago and it's back in it's box ready to go back! I should say I'm getting another one though.
Mine had a very poor microphone, so poor infact that when I called myself and left a voicemail, I couldn't understand it Also had a reception issue, and was generally a lemon!
NONE

was one of the very first to get the aussie SgsII, was delivered on june 1st, no issues what so ever
knock on wood.
Thanks for all the responses guys. Any more would be great!
is there any way to know the year of the phone was built?
i'm wondering because i heard and read that new x10 models dont have the problem as old ones used to have with the issue of the phone restarting itself because of the memory issue after the 2.1 update. my phone had these issues and SE gave me a new phone about 2 weeks ago and I was looking all over the internet and on my phone and couldnt find a thing.
thanks in advance!
You can look under the battery. It will say something like 10W12.
First part is the year - 10 = 2010
Second part is the week number W12 = last week of march.

mine is just 2 months old, so still new as yesterday (thnx to Amzer products)..
but i guess i have flashed 100+ packages in this time..
wish i didnt had to flash the LG keyboard everytime i flash a ROM.. :/
default android keyboard suxx :/
1 Month + 1 or 2 weeks old. Looks like new
Oh, rooted it ~2hrs after i bought it
8 months here.
I was a noob and used stock froyo for 6 months and then i got my phone rooted.
Now ive flashed **** on this phone for about a 100 times and it hasnt bricked at all, nor gotten screwed up.
About 7 months here.Rooted it since 2nd week after i bought it.Flashed lots of things,"bricked" it 2 times, but i managed to repair it home with kdz. It's working as new...maybe i got a problem with stock 2gb SD card, sometimes the apps that are on EXT partition disappear, but i will buy a new card soon.
I've been using the phone for about 10 months. I'm very happy with it. I updated to 2.2.2 (not very sure about version) but couldn't rooted with anything at the time. So tried to downgrade with kdz, bam black screen, dead phone. Go back to store for exchange. I told the guy that it got screw while upgrading with official updater.
So, as I got a new phone,i rooted as soon as I got home. But haven't flash anything on it for about a month. I was reading alot on the forum, it could spare me to exchange the phone if I've have done it first.
Since I've start flashing rom, I'm enjoying the thing. I wish to upgrade but as long as good dev are working on it and bringing new things, I'll stick with it. Without you, I don't think that I've kept the O1 for more than a that. Thanks Guys!!!

I'm not sure if your conditions are as bad as these posts have reported.. BUT my first N9 had the screen freeze, pixelated display; and became progressively worse, and in addition to the system freezing, my tablet would emit a loud screech sound when the event happened. Tablet was ~4-5 months used. I sent the 1st tablet(purchased November 2014) to htc and they replaced the mainboard (so they claim), 2-3 months later the same problem began happening again. I'm still within 1 year warranty, and HTC sent me a replacement this time, manufactured November 2014... hopefully this was the initial batch of hardware with problems..

This happened to mine after 4-5 months as well and I just wanted it replaced, had a hell of a time with HTC, but I have a new one now. So far so good, but there is a growing post of users on Google + all experiencing this issue. HTC/Google needs to openly communicate if this is a known hardware fault with the first batch. As far as I'm concerned it should be illegal for any company not to. What happens if it doesn't fail until just after the warranty period. They are going to say we're SOL for something they knew was a ticking time bomb? I've only seen one company get a situation like this right and that was Microsoft with the red ring of death on the original Xbox 360. Extended the warranty to 3 years with all shipping included. You called an 800 number, a new 360 arrived and the old one went back in the box.

I call HTC. The first time was a waste of time (factory reset, boot into safe mode). The third time they asked me to send it for repair. I bought it on ebay last December. It is October batch.

Best Buy was nice enough to exchange mine if I agreed to purchase the 2 year premium replacement plan from them, which I honestly wouldn't own this tablet without at this point. I can drop and smash it and they will replace it no questions asked until end of Jan 2017
HTC send me the new one but do not has warranty. I worry that after 5 or 6 month of use the problem happens again. Maybe i will sell the tablet. I lost the confidence of the HTC Nexus 9

Post in Google plus nexus 9 https://plus.google.com/communities/116163250152077236334
Today received my new one. New model from HT4A to HT4C.
I finally gave up on this phone and couldn't feel better about it. Got it under a 2-year contract via Amazon less than a year ago, and now trading it back into Amazon and buying a Nexus 6 (which is discounted by $400 right now). In the end, I'll be out about $100. But it's worth it in my view to get an actually stable, functional, and supported device.
I won't have to worry about constant overheating, unstable (but dang good looking) picture taking, and terrible battery life issues (4 hours chews through 60% of my charge) any more.
I should have gotten rid of it months ago, when Sony took 59 days to do an in-warranty repair (for constant over heating and poor battery life). Even then, they only sent me a new phone (not a refurb, but a new unit, which surprised me) after I threatened to take them to local court to get my phone back. The new one is starting to have the same issues as the old, and I don't want to go another 2 months of paying for a cell plan while waiting for Sony to make empty promises about 'eventually' repairing my phone.
Speaking of empty promises, I am so looking forward to having a phone that actually receives some semblance of support from the manufacturer. I might lose on this, but I'd make a bet that Lollipop is never coming via OTA update to the Z3v, and I'm sick of waiting. I hope I'm wrong, but I won't have to worry about it in the end. I'll miss the waterproofing, and the 20MP+ camera, but I'll exchange that for a functional, supported, multi-carrier, device.
See you all on the forums, and good luck!
I feel u. I've been waiting on OTA update and they never released it. Same reason y I'm rooted on ? 509. Build. They prob never release it for z3v but I'm just waiting on any new info on roms. ??

enjoy your new phone.. Im sorry about sony if they had my phone for 59 days man thats so bad..I have had my camera say it was hot once when I was running a custom macro mode for like 5 mins that's it. this phone does not have overheating problems I'm sorry you got a crappy one. My Phone has Been on for 10 hours today with maybe 90 mins on screen time I have 90% battery left so..
Wow, what a bad experience you had. It's amazing the drastic differences in experience users can have with the same device. I'm sorry your experience was so terrible. I got my Z3v at launch in October of 2014. While I am beyond frustration (hatred really) for Verizon and the way they screwed us over and lied about this phone to us, it is really the best device I've ever owned. Unbelievable battery life, OS stability, camera etc. Never had a single issue. I really wish everyone who had this phone had the same good luck as I have had. I keep looking at getting a new or different phone, but really this phone does 95% of what I need it to do 100% of the time. It's reliable. It's hard to imagine I could do better in this regard. My brother and nephew have the same phone and they have the same experience as I do. Wish you did too.
I would probably feel just as you do under the same circumstances, so far my Z3v has been a good phone...that is my second one has been. The first one had a on/off button failure after about 6 months and I got a replacement.
I read once that the phone manufacturers are under enough pressure to produce the phones while at the same time getting ready for the next generation of phones that quality control is almost a thing of the past. It's similar to a story told to me by my ex-wife's sister. She worked in Quality Control at Gateway Computers during their peak times. They got so busy that the QC workers only had time enough to boot a system but not take it through any quality checks before shipping. They called themselves the "Boot and Scoot Department".
I had the Z3v and cracked it somehow, so I replaced it with the Nexus 6p. 3 updates already on the 6p in 2 months and only 1 minor update on the Z3v in 1 year - smh.
Most of the blame goes to Big Head Red. I blame Sony a little bit for allowing Big Head Red to control their phones. Apple, Sammie, LG and Moto won't allow Big Head Red that much control.
If something happened to my Z3v, I'd immediately get the Nexus 6P. I will never buy a phone from Verizon again.
Have to agree these phones are buggy, little things that make you want to get rid of them i.e. USB door rubber seal wearing out, camera getting hot, no updates, bootloader locked, volume button and on/off button flaws.
But that said, if the Z5 would work on VZW I would dump this one and grab a Z5.
