Poor data connectivity performance after Gingerblur upgrade - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed GingerBlur by following kennethpenn's excellent guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12631216&postcount=2911.
Last night, after the install, I was only getting Edge connectivity on my phone, however I was getting data over Edge (though it was slow). It was late, so I thought I would try to flash back to SBF 1.2.6 and try the process again this morning.
When I got up this morning, my data icon is now showing "H", which is what it was before I installed Gingerblur. So it appears that something worked itself out during the night. However, data connectivity has been very intermittent and when it is working, it is very slow. I have near-full to full signal and phone calls sound great. I just can't figure out what is going on with data.
I ran speedtest over my cellular connection, and I am sometimes only pulling 50kbs. Other times, I was getting 300kbps. I did get 2mbps 1 time.
Any idea what might be going on with my radio? I had no problems like this prior to upgrading to Gingerblur.
Do I attempt to reinstall and if so, do I simply perform the steps from the link above again or do I try another method
Here is my phone information.

Thanks,

Its not Gingerblur, trust me. Gingerblur simply deodexes and themes your phone through the framework-res.

It may be ATT is working the towers in your area. If problem continues, call ATT and see if its on their end. If not, I say reflash to stock and see if that fixes the data issue.

Turns out, the problem is an AT&T issue affecting all Android 3G/4G phones in northern and western Michigan. Hopefully they fix it soon.
Thanks,

MR1 Update Data Connection Very Slow

I was running Verizon stock ROM. My download speed was between 600 – 1200kbps. Flashed the MR1 update to get Rev A and GPS. Now my top download speed is 135kbps. Called Verizon support and they decided it was a hardware issue so they sent me a new (not refurbished) phone. First thing I did was update with the MR1. Again, very slow data connection. Called Verizon support. Since this is the second phone they decided something was wrong with the MR1 update. They are sending me another phone and request that I do not update with MR1 until someone can figure out the problem.
Skywing’s GPS fix does work very well with Google Maps, just kind of slow.
Has anyone else checked their speed after the MR1 update at www.mobilespeedtest.com?
Any ideas?
Not much help, but I have noticed that my connection speed has dropped by at least half. I've topped out at a hair over 1 meg, and average usually 5-600k. I just ran the test again and only got 350. I haven't had any time to deal with verizon for my personal phone though.
Have been talking to Verizon support. They think there is a glitch in the MR1 update. They’ve had 2 additional reports with the same issue and think there is others that just don’t know it.
*cough* custom rom *cough*
I second that.

Had your same problem. Used to get 600+ before MR1. Flashed MR1, and it felt slow, but I hadn't thought to check it because I wasn't using it too much. When I did check it, I topped out at 150. I called Verizon support. The guy said that after the MR1 update, the phone does not connect correctly sometimes until they reset the data. He had me power off the phone, he did his thing. Powered it back on, reprogrammed... reauthenticated w/ new A-key (they walk you thru this)... and I rechecked it. I'm currently getting it in the 300s and 400s (He claims it's just a "heavy" data usage time of day). It's not quite the 600+ we're looking for , but it's better than 130s. Hope this helps. I'll check again at a less "heavy" time of day
Edit: Did a reset and checked again... got 599kbps... close enough
We found the problem. It was the PRL 51054 that was causing the phone to go into a loop. Most folks were on PRL 51056 but I had an older calling plan so I got a different one. If you dial *228 option 2, you will now notice PRL 51101 or 51099.

Sometimes you have to flash that modem twice for good measures and after booting follow up with *22899 to update roaming. Which ROM, kernel, and modem you on anyways?
I am STILL having modem issues, I used the packaged 2.1 that was liek 400 megs and had modem kernel and stock eclair all packaged up, and i have done the official ota upgrades to the newer eclair AND now to froyo and STILL having the modem issues...
someone PLEASE help.....
Have you tried flashing JUST the modem? Try the EC01 modem in the Development forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029436
ONLY flash the radio in Odin. Like vi3tboiii54 said, sometimes ya have to do it a second time if you don't see a change upon bootup. Godspeed.
have you updated your prl?
I have now just tried to flash the modem multiple times and I am still getting the same problem...i dont understand how this is possible, and as I have no warranty (bought it on clist) i am screwed.....
*228 is your friend...
I've had that problem since the first froyo modem (couldn't really ***** to vzw then and just used the DL09 modem) and I've *228'd my brains out. Got fed up took it in to the store bone ota stock with speed test installed. While rep was playing with the device it locked to 1x in a store with network extenders, lol. Got a new device on the way no questions (I know that's no help to you op). I just knew once the ota hit that this issue would be more prevalent on many devices. And that's indicated with all the new my signal sucks threads in the last week.
good day.
Looks like it might be a VZW issue. VZW iPad 2 3G's are having problems with 3G dropping.
Can't post link yet, but just Google "Verizon Wireless 3g issues" under News.
The workaround is "re-enabling the 3G radio then rebooting the entire iPad".
iPhone's caused issues on the AT&T network and now the iPhone and iPad are probably causing network issues on VZW.

If you are having 3G signal loss issues, please post your build date and modem version here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051543
Build date can be found by pulling battery and looking at number next to 500V (E.g. 10.08)

You've got a new device on the way??? Awesome. Finally. Hopefully that will be a .......wait for it........
good day.
I installed ComRom when it was released, did not go to ED01 modem. Was not having any 3g issues until this morning. Yesterday I was pulling 1.9mb download and 1mb upload. This morning, 3g keeps going out on me, and its pulling .1mb dl and .3mb upload. Seems real wierd, I never changed the modem at all. I hope itsa verizon problem.

Verizon is having issues. Not the ROM or Modem.
Just did a side-by-side test using my ChromeOS notebook on my Verizon connection. Phone on desk, notebook on lap, less than 20" between them.
Notebook gets 1.38Mbps down, .37Mbps up with a 219ms ping.
Phone gets 55kbps down, 10kbps up with a 948ms ping.
At least in this area, it's definitely not the network.
My fascinate gets stuck in 1x all the time also. My wife's doesn't. So I called Czech and my new one is supposed to be here today.....
I have the problem pop up on the occasion. Whenever i get stuck on 1x or no data, I just put the phone into airplane mode for 10 seconds and 3g returns after exiting airplane mode.

[Q] Bamf RC2 GB 3.0 - Loss of data

Hey guys,
Just looking for some guidance here. I'm coming from GTP 1.5.1b which was using the MR2 radio: 1.39.00.0508w. Yesterday I flashed BAMF GB 3.0 RC2 with the same radio currently installed. I have WIFI and voice connectivity but when I turn on Mobile data I get no connection for 3G/1X. I did mess with the Toolkit and switch to LTE/CDMA and back to CDMA only which did nothing for my 3G but it did give me a short bit of 4G while I was in a certain area but I quickly lost it and it went back to nothing after I drove through.

If you went to CDMA only and you got 4G you have a problem.
I would flash a stock rooted OTA (with the radio) and see if the problem persists, if so, have it replaced.
Sorry I think we misunterstood each other. I meant I was in CDMA only by default, switched to CDMA/LTE and got 4G for a brief moment as I was driving through a 4G area and then went back to no data after I left it.. My next step was to revert back to stock again
I have had the SAME problem for 2 days now. First with Gingeritis then BAMF RC2
Reverting to stock did not help for me, I actually tried every radio. I could get 3G/4G in a VZW store with repeaters everywhere, step outside and walk 20 feet and I'd lose everything. Bottom line, VZW is sending me a new phone.
I reverted to old radio 1.13.605.7 and old backup and got 3g back. Gonna try reflashing RC2 fresh and mr2 radio. Just confirming that mr2 is version 1.39.00.0508w and I'm not flashing something wrong.
FIXED. After reverting back I updated radio, booted to recovery and flashed rom and viola.
Glad it worked out
I had a problem where I couldn't get connection until I flashed it with the latest leaked radio. Even after that, it took 15-20 minutes to actually get coverage
the radios are jacked, it's not the phones.

[Q] Browser not liking LTE

I'm having the strangest problem, my browser is not cooperating with 4G. Especially with Google, the progress bar just sits there nearly indefinitely. It can load full sites, such as topgear.com, but it hangs at the end before the bar is full.
I can toggle down to 3G and it works fine. I'm currently running the OTA MR2 radio. This started, however, some time after I flash Chingy's latest leak. I've flash radios back and forth a couple of times, cleared cache and dalvik, clear Internet application data, I've even done a complete wipe (wiped everything twice) and re-flashed without restoring anything what so ever. Nothing works other than toggling down to 3G.
That being said, it's not a connection issue. I can tether and it runs great, speed tests ran from the phone have good results and most application that use data are fine. I'm baffled.
Any suggestion? Any one ran into something like this?
Thanks.
I had the same thing after flashing the new leak. Don't have a clue if its related or not, but my PRL changed after doing so. It went from 15011 to 15027. Afterwards, LTE connectivity was intermittent at best. Even when I set my radio to LTE only. It would stay on 4g for a bit, then go to 1x for no reason. After a couple of days now it has settled down. I did not change from MR2 leak.

My PRL is still 15011 and I have no issues with LTE connectivity. It doesn't drop LTE, tether works great and most applications that use data work fine. My issue is with the browser loading pages. I can refresh the Google home page and it will sit there for minutes without making any progress. Then I can imediately run a speed test and get 20Mbps, all while tethering without a hiccup. This is driving me nuts, I ran into a couple people over at rootzwiki who are having the same problem. Oddly enough we're all in Texas. *scratches head*

[Q] Slow (or no) transition from Wifi to mobile data

Lately, my phone seems to have a real problem going from Wifi to mobile data. I know the location I'm in gets a GOOD 4G signal, because if I approach the building before it can see the wifi, it will be on 4G and working just fine. After going inside, connecting to wifi and leaving, it can take over 15 minutes sometimes before I get any mobile data connection.
I've tested 4G in the building by disabling wifi before arriving and the entire time it stayed on 4G and worked as expected. Any ideas what is going on or could fix this?
Software version: 3.16.651.3 710RD
Android 4.1.1
PRI Version 2.97_003
PRL Version 25015
I do have root, but I'm running stock. (Strange, I know. Few roms I tried give me no touchpanel and I've not set aside the time to figure it out fully. Also, 4.2 seems to have bluetooth issues?)
