I just upgraded to TB today, and had to go to work before playing with it much. Now I'm home, and a stuck/dead pixel is driving me insane! It's in the middle of the screen, offset to the right a bit. I keep staring at it uncontrollably, and tried many times to wipe it away lol. Will I be able to replace the phone, or would I be better off returning it and just doing my upgrade again? I do not think it's acceptable for the value of the phone. Thanks for any input. This screwed up my rooting plans for now.. grrr.
Edit: I'm also having a hell of time trying to get the market to download apps, instead of auto failing immediately. Factory reset worked for a bit, but now I have tons of updates that won't download.. will not factory reset again.. I'm in a 3G only area.. it takes forever!! I'm coming from a DX.. so it's alot of apps I'm having trouble with.

You got a bad one. Take it back and exchange it for a new one.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Exchange it. It's a hardware issue and is covered by the warranty.

Thanks guys.. just needed reassurance. Hope my luck is better next time.

Try one of the pixel fix apps in the market. But you likely will have to return the device.
dead pixels can't be fixed unless they replace the screen, had the same issue with my 55 inch monitor, and they are replacing the entire led panel, just return it, you paid good money for it, everything should work 100%
I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice it, I'm just uber picky with my gadgets. It's really apparent on blue screens. The retailer I got it from is closed on Sundays.. so yet another day without rooting.. this blows lol

So after reading these forums I see some people experience lag while the majority don't. Also I see the same people who experience lag also complain of green hue/tint on their photos as well. Well I'm one of those people. No matter what I do my phone lags scrolling through homescreens, camera freezes every other time I use it.
I'm going by sprint today to play with the demo unit to see how it compares to mine. I don't remember it being laggy when I played with it on launch day.

Try a hard reset to see if that fixes your problem.

I did. But i posted a thread my first day about the lag. But its no better. The weather live paper locks my phone up after about a minute...and my screen is yellow. I'm gonna see how the phone on display at sprint looks. If its better , I'm going to swap it out for a new one

no problem here.
I actually feel the stock rom could be a keeping. Everything just works and very snappy.
my camera doesnt even load. Its goes to a black screen, i did a hard reset, factory reset, and still nothing, i called and they are going to send me a brand new phone. i should be getting it today or tomorrow.
I don't have any green tints but i do get lag when scrolling in the market and some apps. Also the camera freezes sometimes after taking pics and i need to go and fc it.... Hope it's a software issue that can't be fixed by an ota.
Something is making my photons screen unable to turn back on without a battery pull. Anyone else having this issue? It has happened three times in less than 24 hours.

I also keep having a feeling it has something to do with the pocket detection mode. Just happened again a few minutes ago. I'm gonna leave pocket detection off and report back tomorrow or until it happens again.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I've had that problem too, I can see the backlight turn on but the screen stays black. I wrote it off as a bug. It only did it once every few days, and yes I did have pocket detection enabled.
Yeah it seems like a badass feature but if it is causing a bug that annoying ill have to leave it off :/

Did it again with pocket detection off. Factory reset? Or did I get a dud phone?

Factory reset did not fix my issue.
Still happening no matter if pocket detection on or off.
Happen to me once every 2-3 days.
So its probably a software issue bc the button does work. Wonder if this is occurring on alien or homebase

The pocket detection doesn't work for me anyways.

Got stuck in sleep again. Gonna try unlocking the bootloader and trying a custom rom later tonight. This is getting on my nerves

Found a fix for this. Still pretty sad i have to pad the battery cover

Screen of death didn't hold up to the ghetto mod, updated to the 198_6 sbf, crossing my fingers it will cut down on this issue
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I'm on homebase and haven't had this issue. But I also didn't have it on the stock photon either? Perhaps it's like the OTA update failing for some and not others. I remember reading some people on stock failing and some being able to do it. So I'm not totally sure......But that's something to ponder on.

DWake014 ,
Did you get this phone recently?
This is a known issue with some phones that went out with a corrupt firmware from Motorola. There is no patch that can fix the firmware from Sprint as of now. I needed to return mine for an exchange. Sprint explained that when it gets to the area on the firmware that is corrupt, as a safety mode it basically freezes the phone and cut the power. That's why it takes a battery pull to restart the phone. There was a large batch released with this bug. I have gone through 4 Photons to get my current one with no freezing issues. I would suggest not going to the same store if possible so you get a different lot # on the replacement phone. Good luck and get that exchanged asap. Peace
My biggest concern is that I got it off of ebay... I know I can bs them and go around the question likes it none of their business but do you think they will hassle me?

If you have an account and a phone with issues they should replace it. As long as you take it to a tech center. That MAY work.
Sent from my Photon via XDA
Yeah its still a sprint sold phone and I have the protection plan on my account. Shouldn't be too many questions asked. Btw put the leaked sbf on last night and it has been going without any screen of death. I have been shaking it around and putting it down in its front and back and it hasn't done anything. Will keep this updated if it happens again
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
If you have the plan you should be fine. I got my Evo from Radio Shack and Sprint covered it. As for the SBF. I haven't flashed the new one. So not sure about it. But I haven't had the sleep of death issue either.
Sent from my Photon via XDA
You are probably fine then, about 4 hours and counting so far off the charger, longest time yet
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I'm glad to hear it's working for you. But yeah, Sprint should take the phone in and replace it as long as it's a software issue, and they don't see you're rooted. which most techs don't care anymore anyway. And you have the insurance. Just make sure it's a repair center.
My screen is freezing randomly, and my Q or 1 on my keyboard screen wont even push, it will always hit W or 2 instead, I did a full hard reset, and still the same, so hopefully they can give me another one, so I can root, since this one is updated OTA. wish me LHUCCKK
Yeah that's A knOwn problem, but I got unrooted with the 1.49ers boot

I just took my gf's phone in for the same reason. It WWE quickly diagnosed as having a defective digitizer. They'll just replace the screen.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Really? They said they was gona order me a new one Yes, but dont know if it'll be a refurb or new new one, just at least one without the latest update.
The first phone that the lady at the sprint store tried to set me up with had a problem like that, the bottom right 1" square area did not function.
Yep, its definitely the digitizer.

So my girlfriend is still on her Tbolt. She's never wanted me to root it or anything so still stock. Anyway since the ics update the phone has become next to useless. She was complaining about it being slow, laggy etc. I thought she was exaggerating but after messing with it myself ya its really bad. Super slow to do anything and backup media force closes every few minutes.
Just curious if this is an isolated incident or if others have similar issues? I told her to try a factory reset but she doesn't want to do that yet.

My girlfriends phone apparently didn't take well to the update either. Hers never got FC's, but it froze a lot... especially on the lock screen. After a while, the screen started wigging out... it started scrolling around on its own and even made screen selections on its own.
Good thing I have a reliable source here that warned me about the ICS Goblins that come with the OTA and harass the user of the phone. I sent her phone in for an insurance claim and got her a new one and no more ICS Goblins harass her.
Disconnecktie, if you see this, thanks again!

I noticed a section across my screen, approx 1/2 in tall, that I is not registering touches. I used ScreenTouchTest from the Play Store to test touches.I got it to go away for a little bit by pulling the battery a couple times but now it is persistent.I tried resetting my phone to factory settings and no luck. I am on stock ICS. Of course I don't have warranty, I was just curious if anyone else had this happen.

I'm 99.999999% sure it's a hardware problem. I had the same problem, and had to replace my phone. Unless you're willing to replace the touchscreen, I think it's unfixable.

Ya that is what I was afraid of. It was just weird that it will work after a few reboots. Oh well, eligible for an upgrade tomorrow, probably grab the HTC One.

Oh, nice! I'm on contract until November (a family member stole my early upgrade), but probably would've chosen that phone, too.
