I don't want to decrypt a official rom, i want to make a room from my current device as FULL firmware backup.
Because if the phone bricks i can flash throught X10 Flasher, without reinstalling the sony ericsson update and xrecovery

@alecuba16
have you been successful to make backup?

stock SE rom to install via xrecovery?

Hello guys! I want to know where to find the stock original SE rom 2.1.1.A.0.6 to install it via xrecovery? (update.zip or custom.zip) not for flashtool.
thanks.
me too plz, I need the ROM of the original SE 2.1 firmware for xrecovery.
Man, you can always flash it with seus, sony update service.

Just flash your device, at once root and install xrecovery, then go into xrecovery and do a backup and there you go. Got the zip in xrecevory folder on your SDCard.

OP asked for a 2.1 stock rom.. Don't you think if he could have used SEUS or FlashTool he would have used that instead of asking for a xRecovery image?
Here's the deal, which I believe is the same reason the OP asks for a stock rom to flash with xRecovery.
My USB port is busted. Dead. I have better odds at winning the national lottery than making my computer connect to my X10. but I have one last hope. I have a working copy xRecovery installed on my custom X10! trouble is, if I am going to claim warranty for my phone I need a stock rom.
So, while it is possible to flash custom roms so why is there no stock roms available for xRecovery? or is there?
I install JRom and found out that this rom is exactly the same with the original stock rom I had when I bought this phone.
Thx ... never think of that before... °_°

how to restore to stock rom

i have X10 mini pro and i have installed RECOVERY and backed up the stock rom that came with the device. after that i have installed CM7 but my SD card stoped working and i lost all the data on it including the back up.
now i want to go back to the stock rom with hebrew build in and i dont know how. i tried the SEUS but it said that ther is no updat and i cant repair it.
SEUS says there is no update but U can reinstall the newest firmware. And the newest FW from SE is 2.1

[Q] ST15i cannot use SE repair after installing custom rom

Does anybody know if there's a workaround for this? I currently have cyanogen installed on my mini but want to go back to stock now but can't seem to find any information on it anywhere?
I've tried using the "repair" function on PC Suite but it just says that the software on the phone has been modified and cannot be updated.
Somebody please help!!!
Use flashtool or woltenserver to flash stock rom.. the Tft file for flashtool is given in cyanogenmod 7 forum...

Anyone know where I can download a stock rom?
You will first need to relock the bootloader.
Follow this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134335
After following theese instructions, your phone will be UNBOOTABLE.
Then start the SE PC companion and choose software update, it won't find the phone(because it's bricked ) so it will offer to repair it, just follow the onscreen instruction and PC companion will flash the stock rom on the phone.
NOTE: THESE INSTRUCTION MAY SEEM SCARY AND THEY CAN BRICK YOUR PHONE, BE CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS!!! ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE ERASED SO MAKE A BACKUP!!!

Hello sikodemon,
you can get a stock rom from http://www.wotanserver.com/en
Hope this helps
Wotanserver works well but it doesn't relock the bootloader. If the bootloader stays unlocked you won't be able to do FOTA updates.

yes, but which firmware?
wotanserver.newusersnotallowedtopostlinks/en/sony-ericsson/se/xperia-ray-st18/4-0-2-a-0-62/language-download
they list all versions as having the same languages (which probably is not the case)
just download the original firmware and flash it using flashtool

yeah thanks just need to register... (not pay) i use your 2.3.4 actually.. it give me ability to upgrade in .62 without loosing root... and now "bonus" PCC ask me to upgrade ICS centraleurope version... just all i need with a downgrade :d
Hi,
I have a xperia neo....with rooted stock firmware .62 and unlocked bootloader (testpoint method)...I have taken a nandroid backup of it
I just wanted to try out ics...so planning to update using PCcompanion
Before updating...i just want to know
1. whether it's possible to downgrade to gb through cwm nandroid restore? Do I need to flash the kernel for .62 after the nandroid restore ?
2. will root access be restored after the downgrade? Since .62 is cannot be rooted, I'll have to flash .42 to get root access
I don't want to start restoring all the installed apps...hence thinking of using nandroid backup against flashtool
heres a video on how to :
SIMPLEST WAY TO DOWNGRADE TO 2.3.4 factory firmware
...Hi, hope i can help you after i spent myself days looking to root or flash my device, with no luck. There is just 3 simple steps to follow and you are done. Trust me its working fine:
1. Go To: (http thing) i cant link as new user...//androidadvices.com/downgrade-sony-xperia-arc-official-gingerbread-23-firmware/2/ and download 2 files (flashtool and Xperia Arc S firmware package... works for xperia arc, arc s, pro, etc). This is the Gingerbread 2.3.4
2. Unzip, install and start (as admin) Flashtool, then COPY XPERIA ARC S FIRMWARE PACK (is a .ftf file) INTO Installed Flashtool, FIRMWARE Folder (PASTE inside), START FLASH, choose FLASHMODE, follow on screen steps.
P.S. When restart your phone in FLASHMODE: With the phone turned off, press and HOLD BACK button, while connect USB, next seconds, you'll get the GREEN Light(phone) and flashing begins.
3. ENJOY your new installed GINGERBREAD 2.3.4 Firmware
P.S. ...NO ROOT REQUIRED... ...and yes, i know there are more than 3 steps... so? still works great. GOOD LUCK

Flash offical update without root?

Hi, my father have Neo V with adroid 2.3 and he can't install offiacial update branded by his provider. So is there way to install offical ICS update without rooting phone? (downlad update and put it into sues or something...)
Thanks.
Why can he not update via seus or PCCompanion? What does the error say when he tries that.

"You have the newest system"
Then root is needed, download flashtool, root, flash stock ICS .ftf file and your done.
Find flashtool link in the stickies I the dev section.

@gregbradley: erm, why he need root?
@Corn Flake: make sure you store your original CDF customization number, just in case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604559
You don't need root.
Just download flashtool, and the corresponding .ftf firmware file for your device.
Then flash it to your device using Flashtool.

Here
20 seconds googling. If its the wrong one I could have spent 21 seconds and gone to the second search hit.
Backup your father phone and use SEUS to upgrade to ICS. (all data will lost)
Sony PC Companion sometime can't download the rom.
OTA update can't upgrade 2.3 -> 4.0
