Hi all,
I'm currently using GSPlayer v2.29 to play various audio files on my HTC Touch 2 (QVGA) and I'm quite satisfied with it but however, not totally happy about it as I feel that it could be better with some improvements which I'm gonna list out as follows:
1. Volume Control
Volume control should have the "+" and "-" buttons and in steps of "5" like what the Windows Media Player Mobile have to better micro-control the volume. The volume slider is just not smooth and precise enough for finger control. Although they have the "Volume up" and "Volume down" control, but u need to navigate to "Tool" then "Volume up" or "Volume down". It would be better if the "Volume up" and "Volume down" are easily accessible on the main screen.
2. Mute Audio
There should be a button to mute or unmute the audio by instantly finger touch the "Mute" button.
3. Equalizer
For adjustment of the equalizer, is better if there is a "Up" or "Down" button on each band. Each activitation of the "Up" or "Down" button should incease or decrease the band in steps of 0.5db.
I have pretty seen most of the Media and audio players for Windows Mobile posted on this forum and most of them are still lacking in terms of the above mentioned flaws for GSPlayer. So I would like to know:
1. Is there any good media player for Windows Mobile that have all the functionality as mentioned above?
2. Is there any media players for Windows Mobile that have similar or pretty much very close to the functionality required to the above mentioned?
Thanks in advance

So is there or is there not a media player for Windows Mobile that have it?
Why is there still no reply?
If you are talking about audio player then switch to nitrogen or pocket music. For audio and video player Coreplayer is best option
skip above advice and go for mortplayer. FAR superior to wmp, and 95% of snd players, and very flexible(skinning, configuration).
it can use gsplayer plugins.

Any idea how do i turn off the screen while playing music in order to conserve battery life?
thanks
tap the power button once?
no, if you do that the device goes into standby, and the playback stops.
i just found the solution, under the button assignment menu in windows media player there is a "toggle screen" option
so i assigned it to "hold left button" so now if i hold the left button for a while the screen goes off but music keeps playing
If you are using HTC audio, you can press power button and the screen goes black.

hey thats cool! but i dont use htc's audio player because its not that easy to search for a particular song. with wmp i just need to type in the name in "now playing" view
MortPlayer lets you turn the screen off too
In Windows Media Player, goto options and in the buttons tab, assign a button to turn off screen. Its there!

is there a way to use the volume buttons to switch between tracks? like in my old k800 when i longpressed a volume button it played the next or the previous track. it would be nice and it would save battery cos it would not activate the screen all the time
Hey, I was thinking about something likewise. It would be nice that while the phone is closed, a single click on the camera button would start/stop music, a double click on the camera button would go to next track.
Typical issue:
- about to start some app that makes noise (game, paused music player, etc)
- trying to lower volume in advance, by using the volume button: doesn't work, controls the ringer volume instead as the phone is not playing any sound yet
- start app: LOOOOUUUUDDDDDD... until i can lower volume using volume button.
Question: any way to change the behaviour of the volume button so it controls AT ALL TIMES the media volume?
Thanks!
Don't know about any app that would do that, but you can go to sound settings before opening games, media, players, etc. and lowering the media volume before starting those apps.
Stick a finger over the speaker hole until you're able to lower the volume, it effectively mutes it. (except in very, very quiet environments)
Hi, I'm a newbie,
and i feel your problem as well.
Who in the world often change the ringer volume?
Most people will want it either at maximum volume, or minimum volume (off, at silent mode)
Most people (i believe i speak for most people),
would rather have the volume rocker to control the media volume.
Is there a better fix for this? Please help.
covering the volume hole is a nice trick, but its not really an effective solution.
Man who stick hole in finger better sticking finger in settings sounds and adjusting sound levels no ???

I have been using the finger up the butt method lol
would be nice to control only media volume with volume button
Does this only happens on the SGS2?
Or all android devices?
volume widget

I use a "lock the ringer" app for this purpose alone.
If I could reprogram the volume buttons to always only affect the media, I could even get rid of the above app.
Loads of custom ROMs and custom stock ROMs have the option to have the volume expandable so when you tap the rocker the dialer volume appears but then there's a little settings icon at one end and you can tap that and media, notification and alarm volume all appear
Hey all,
I've been looking for this problem now for a few days @ google / xda but i couldn't found a solution.
Things i've already tried.
Apps: Audio booster, Volume + DSP Manager.
Servicemenu:
call this number *#*#197328640#*#*
This will open the service mode menu.
choose option [5] AUDIO
choose option [1] (VOICE CALL)
choose option [2] HEADSET
choose option [1] Volume
choose option [1] SRC Speech RX Volume
choose option [5] 5_lvl : 87
press the menu button (left side)
choose Key Input
enter a value between 0 and 100, I choose 100 the loudest setting.
press ok
The problem is with the servicemenu.
I can select everything but when i reach the step:
5_lvl: 88 i get the following things on-screen:
-NB_Handset-
SRC Speech RX Volume(DEC)
Input?
Whenever i press the menu button i don't get the white popup bar where i could edit the volume lvls, it just shakes like when i usually click on the menubutton but nothing happends really it just trills not more.
I tryed pushing "Input?" first then the menu button but nothing really happends.
Tried everything.
Is there someone with this same problem or with some tips or tricks??
Using:
Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100)
Cyanogenmod 7 (3.2.7)
If no-one has some ideas i will try a new ROM.
Using CheckRom Revo HD 4 (2.3.6), Siyah Kernel 2.6.5 and DSP Manager audio is loud enough. Using Supercurio's louder, audio volume is TOO loud.
But, what headphones are you using ? Stock or something else ?
I'm using some Gear4 headphones what i also used on my iphone.
tried it with sennheiser/creative/dre headphones all the same volume
what do you suggest to do? audio is quite important for my training, traveling.
level increase
after pressing level 5 you should get input ??? show up on screen. Press the button on the left hand side of phone, not menu or back button. You should get a pop up screen with various options, touch the key input option and then you input the volume you want to increase to e.g 100. then exit.
thats what i do and it works for me.

On the left side on my phone (s2) i have the volume buttons, if i press those the volume just go up or down.
Other button on the right side is the lock/unlock button that also don't work.
What button do you mean cause i tried al buttons, (screenshot of the button maybe? )
Try the app in my sig. Only boosts headset/headphone volume (significantly tho).

Haven't seen any fixes for this but every time I hit my volume up or down it controls the media volume instead of the intended ringtone volume. This happens when no media player is playing. What could it be? Thanks for your help guys :good:
Hi my volume up key does turn up the ringtone volume as expected but pressing volume down does not turn volume down. It launches recent apps rolodex. Can you confirm?
