NAMELESS EC09 Kernel v1.1b Final
Credits: me, and nemesis2all (info, tools, etc) thanks!
--
This kernel is based off of the EC09 leaked kernel with a repacked initramfs. Basically what it does is take the stock kernel and repackage it with some things we want. Thought I would throw something out to play with today, this will probably see a few more versions after user testing. Flash in CWM recovery.
--
Features:
EXT4 Mounting Support
CIFS Module (untested)
TUN Module (untested)
init.d script support - works!
DBDATA/DATADATA symlink (restores usage of the original directory, fixes common script problems like fix_permissions)
FOTA & PREINSTALL rework - "Extra storage support" (find /extstorage1 & /extstorage2 in root, free internal user storage for saving files)
Reworked init files
SU/root (2.3.6.3 efgh + Latest Superuser.apk) automatically installed
Busybox (1.19) automatically installed
fix_permissions (2.04) automatically installed
Custom error detection script written by me, which scans the phone on boot for missing directories or files that cause common force closes, and fixes them, this happens every boot! never lose!
Custom init.d script with options to control the automatic install of root/busybox/fix_permissions, change values to stop function, but even if you delete the entire file, it will be restored on boot! never lose!
SD read speed tweak built-it
Kernel performance tweaks built-in

Does wifi work with this? I was testing one that Nemesis made a couple days ago and turning on wifi causes a hot boot.

Should since that kernel is just providing ext4 support, not actually reformatting. A workaround for losing wifi after running ext4 formatter is to wipe data/factory reset. Thanks to killa for telling me about the work around.
Can this be used with stock ECO9?
Will it allow cwm recovery to stay accessible? (rooted of course)

Should, has correct permissions set. This was a precursor for the formatter, releasing that today also. With the new version there won't be that issue any more.
okay so I'm running the ec 09 radio however I am running a froyo rom, will this kernel work?

Just in case there might be some confusion, the wipe data/factory reset workaround has to be done immediately after flashing the formatter and before flashing the rom/kernel. Or at least that is how it always worked for me. Thanks for the mention nemesis.
Does this kernel address any of the EC09 SD card problems?
I'll pose the question again. This can be used with stock ECO9?

As long as it is a TouchWiz Gingerbread ROM, it should work. Don't try on MIUI, CM7, or some AOSP GB ROM; that wouldn't work right.

Have been hearing a lot about cf-root from my friends.Tried googling it had no luck.

Thanks Amit
But, I am more confused now...somebody has reported a problem on the second last page of that forum. The problem is on the same rom i am using. Should i flash it or get my rom changed then flash it? Would appreciate a lot if you can suggest some better rom.

cf-root works on any samsung stock roms unless it is gingerbread so don't worry it will work
I cannot see any services file for xwks9 there. Have been reading it and am afraid to do it now...i dont want to loose my beloved ace. What would be the real advantage of flashing it? I am sorry for bugging you with so many questions. Thanks for bearing with my limited android knowledge.
All I want is no app closes by itself when lots of apps running simultaneously. So that I can keep the page loading on explorer while playing some game.

well this can be done without cf-root also but it will lag
cf-root will enable you to have ext4 filesystem [download ext4manager and convert it]...+ busybox + root + init.d scripts + bootaminations
ext4 will make system faster [not like win xp to win 7 though ]
init.d scripts will let you to have some ram scripts which may help you..
bootanimation - you will love them at start of your phone instead of watching same samsung **** and you can choose from various of them
and one more thing you will need that services.jar file only to have support of bln which you don't want
I have now downloaded cwm for gingerbread and cf-root v3.7 b82. Going to download now ext4 manager.
One more advise i need here is...i hv my phone already rooted with update.zip method. Can i flash cwm and cf-root directly. After that i m gonna flash ext4 manager.
Any advise or anything that i need to take care of while doing this.
Also what is this bln?

Did all of this cannot notice any change though...was this expected after 2 hrs of tension...plz help...i am seeing something has eaten my 16 mb internal memory.

It could be or the ext4 file system ...
The truth is that after doing all of these things you won't going to notice anything in performance and look. CF-root is a stock kernel which support scripts and ext4 file system, etc. and it's rooted already. And the CWM is only a recovery for the phone. U can use it for flashing custom roms for your phone. The ext4 file system as far as I know is good to make the phone more laggless it's better than rfs maybe it makes little bit faster too.
If you want to achive higher performance you need to flash a custom rom or different scripts like SlaidFastMod v2 which is a pack of scripts to increase performance, battery life, improve on the touch screen etc.
If you want to increase performance and want to stay stock install SlaidFastMod v2. Installing SlaidFastMod v2 is easy simply download from developer section and flash it trough CWM by install zip file from sd card.
OR ! Install a CyanogenMod 7 on your phone
Keep in mind that you formatted your phone to ext4 if you want to flash other stock rom you need to revert back to rfs first with ext4 Manager app!
Just install the .zip file from the stock recovery of any 2.3.x without anything before. You will get cwm, root and all the other wonderful stuff.
They are genius.
Greetings

Do NOT delete superuser app I'm not sure you can do it either.
It is not from your earlier root, it comes with CF-root too because it
contains root so the Superuser app is installed with CF-Root And you need
it to grant root access to some apps.
The bootsound and the default boot animation is gone. If you dont like the animation delete the file in data/local/bootanimation.zip it will gives you back the
default boot animation without the boot sound. Or if you want custom bootanimation just simple put there with the same name bootanimation.zip
About the bootsound the default bootsound is stored in System/etc with the name of Poweron.ogg As I saw it is removed and I don't know how to get it back. I don't really need that it is a bit annoying .
You need a file explorer with root access to see these folders and files.
But don't do anything stupid !! These files are important for the ROM to run !
U can use ES File Explorer it's free and you can give it to root access in settings and mount system as writable
You won me dear ;-)
Good night...i will play with my new ace tomorrow morning.
Thanks all !

Hi Guys,
its a little bit strange..
i want to install v6 supercharger on .62 firmware in Rood Mode with Busybox 1.18.2 and Script manager like in the how-to.
Ive read v6 is with every phone compatible.
When i activated them on .62 and reboot my phone it stocks on doomlords kernel logo and after few miniutes i have a blackscreen!
so, what iv done wrong?
Can you help me?
edit // Sorry for posting this in dev section when its wrong...
It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to mess up with Supercharger so much that you break your phone so I'm sure you did everything right.
If it doesn't work with .62 so it just does not work (yeah, thanks captain Obvious xD) and you have to wait for the fix.
There was a similar problem with RC5.1 and xperia phones when they hanged up before bootanimation after applying any fix and SuperClean-ing.
Currently I'm using RC5.2 and everything is ok. I wanted to switch to RC6 but suddenly read that it causes problems again and again with xperias.
EDIT: I've also read that there are some problems with RC6 and changing some values in build.prop/local.prop and with some tweaks so it means that SuperCharger was not working 100% and wasn't applying launcher tweak.

As a small tip: I'm not fond of Script Manager, so I modified the .txt file (be simply changing the extension) to a .sh file. In Terminal Emulator I do the following:
su
cd sdcard
sh v6.sh (renamed the file)
The script will run the exact same as you would Script Manager. No need to reboot if you've already applied the changes the first time around.
I can't seem to get this to stick after a reboot
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
You cant see the changes after reboot.
To see it you have to run the .sh script in script manager or whatever again!

I think when I first started to use V6 I was using the generic '6' setting, but after a while switched between '8' and '9' (both had around equal performance difference for me).
Never tried the aggressive settings myself...

Hello
I've just got a 101 G9 Turbo and just SDE/rooted it, but there seems to be little in the way of performance tweaks.
I've got an LG Optimus 2X phone and theres all sorts of tweaks in the init.d folder and was woundering if theres anything we can do to the G9 to give a bit more performance?
Something like this?? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730872&highlight=dalvik
Will the above work on the G9?
Most of the tweaks in general android section should work. Personally i prefer using Supercharger, which works fine for me. I do not see reason why the tweak you posted wouldn't work, if the system supports it. If there are problems with the script starting, use script manager to run it on boot.

...the problem I always have with tutorials is they tell you how to install/do stuff but not why you should i.e. the benefits.
I'll try the supercharger tonight, I'm using go launcher HD, is that the one that everyone recommends, I use the normal go launcher ex on my phone that why I used the HD version.

==>>There are so many scripts on xda to boost your performance, wondering which to choose?
#Well It's best for you to try them all and see which one suits you best but if you wish to save some time click HERE , I personally use "Operation Killjoy" myself.
(CrossBreeder is another tweak, mentioned since it's compatible with Killjoy,
If you wish to combine it I suggest you to flash one at a time, boot your device after first flash and let it stabilize about a minute or 2, then flash CrossBreeder).
Flashing both at the same time caused great delay and system misbehaving, whats it gonna be it's up to you.
Others scripts I tried are Adrenaline Engine and Pure Performance and Fly-On(I believe was the name).
Know a better one then all above? Feel free to share it with us.

(Note: A partitioned SD card is required, otherwise skip this and partition it first.)
#1.After done with flashing ROM, flash the sd-to-ext* script.
#2.You must boot phone at least once before you can flash the second script. So, boot ROM and after 2 min are passed and system stabilized, reboot in recovery.
#3.Now flash the second to-sd-to-ext* script.(it should take about 2min to complete.)
#4.PROFIT! You got extra internal space! Get downloading cool new apps
(Oh, wait, If you get any error or stuck on "mounting sd-ext" or "unmounting sd-ext" do this:
Go into Mounts and Storage and try to mount /sd-ext. If you get Error Mounting then your SD Card is not partitioned well and I recommend you to flash Amon Ra Recovery and partition your SD Card from there. I had the same issue because of Clockwork buggs as already mentioned )

Bad..very bad...
I don't know exactly for 3G but i can confirm that battery drain with on Wifi is huge...about -10% for like 10-15min on Wifi..
(played with my bro yesterday: wifi+game = from 20%->4% in 6-7min -_- )
Otherwise you get about 10hours battery with using phone not so much...
(-30% of time into Airplane mode)
(-No 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth..)
(-Greenify used to make sure no app runs in background.)
Playing games often turns your phone to "hand heater" and wastes your battery so quicky..(i reboot and remove the battery about 2min to cool off..)
If there is anything that should be fixed next, it's battery drain for sure..

No more builds after 06052013?

I managed to get INT2EXT working with the latest RC1, it was simply a matter of trimming the ROM to give you more free space in your system partition. You may also need to mount /system in your recovery before flashing the script in order to get it to work.

And about jenkins changelog?
Did anyone found something specifically rather then "changes.txt" on build website?
