THIS IS FOR FROYO ONLY..!!
ok.. i'll take it from the top..i will guide you taking wolf's rom as a reference.. for other rom users just follow from the third step(ignore the first two steps if you have already done it or if you are on another rom..!!)
1. flash CM 6.1.3 [v006].zip via xrecovery
MIRROR: http://www.fileserve.com/file/fq6AF6a
2.CM 6.1.3 Hotfix for V006 via xrecovery
DO NOT BOOT DURING THE FOLLOWING PROCESS TILL I TELL YOU..!!
3.flash baseband .49 via flashtool
4.flash Patch to use 4x-52 Baseband via xrecovery
5.flash K12(the one with uv/oc/uc) having the latest version of miniloader...taken from here
Important Note: k12 is same as k11.. only oc/uv is added to it.. but it seems that k11 is more stable and battery efficient than k12.. so if you dont care much about oc/uv.. i would recommend you to go for k11.. (Steps of HOW TO are posted in the second post)
6.flash wifi bt fix via xrecovery
7.flash K12 wifi driver via xrecovery[UPDATED ON 2ND JUNE]
8.now boot up.
check your bb and kernel
if its the right one that you have installed
THEN
9. go to settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > uncheck international and national data roaming...
10. settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > network operators..
select your network manually
(if there are two of the same names then the first is 3g network and the second is 2g network)
11. go to settings > date & time >uncheck automatic and manually select your region, date and time.
12. after selecting immidiately do a reboot..!!
and voila..!! you're done
FOR GOING BACK TO THE STOCK KERNEL FLASH THIS VIA XRECOVERY..!!
HAVING RANDOM REBOOTS, SYSTEM CRASHES WITH K12? REFER POST BELOW.!!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The random system crashing and rebooting issue was not there in k11..
J earlier said that he removed uv/oc from k11 because that was found to be the cause on reboots.. but he added them again in k12 due to public demands..!! maybe its the same reason we are having random crashes and issued.. i used k11 for about 3-4 days and didnt had a single crash or reboot..
i'm shifting to k11 for the time being and wait for k13..!
if any one also wants to try that
here are the necessary file links..
1. k11
2. Wifi & bt fix
3. wifi driver
flash them in order..
NOTE; THE ABOVE THREE STEPS ARE ONLY FOR THOSE RUNNING K12 RIGHT NOW.. FOR THOSE WHO DONT JUST DO THE STEPS IN OP BUT REPLACE
STEP 5 WITH step 1(Of this post)
STEP 6 WITH step 2(Of this post)
STEP 7 WITH step 3(Of this post)
AND THEN FOLLOW THE SAME STEPS IN OP.
to check whether you are having any deep sleep issues there is an app called cpuspy
WRONG INFO!!!!
PLEASE GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE POSTING THESE HOW-TOs
1) the whole point of that release was that a newer miniloader was included which is missing in ALL OF THE LINKS THAT U POSTED
2) for everything to work properly u need to flash the included baseband from the baseband package provided in CM7 J022 for the included miniloader to work properly... even if u already have baseband 2.0.52 please reflash using the baseband package provided in CM7 J022...
3) >>> flash wifi bt fix via xrecovery <<< is only required if u are on FROYO roms....
4) if u are on incorrect miniloader & baseband u will NOT GET DEEP SLEEP/WILL STILL HAVE REBOOT WHEN SCREEN OFF PROBLEMS
why dont u rename ur thread title to: [GUIDE] for installing custom kernel k12 ON FROYO ROMs

hi.
i flashed stock rom S5830XWKS2 through Odin. the phone started rebooting randomly.
then i flashed custom rom TheMyth KS3 but the problem kept getting worse. when i'm using the phone, it reboots every few seconds.
i flashed stock rom S5830XWKS3. but the Baseband version in the phone didnt change (S5830XWKS2). and the problem is still persistent.
the phones does not do full reboot. it freezes, the screen goes black, then goes strait to the boot animation.
also, if it reboots while transferring files through mass usb storage, the transfer doesnt stop, to continues normally.
1. any idea why is this happening?
2. why didnt the baseband version change when i flashed KS3?
3. do you recommend another stock rom to flash.
p.s: KS3 seems fast. i got 1040 score in quadrant on stock rom.
i would appreciate any help. thanks

Hey !
The Baseband Version is KS2 while Build is KS9 (in my stock rom)
If you end in Bootloops, press Power + Home till you get into recovery, then Clear data/Factory Reset and clear Cache, then reboot.
Come back and tell me if it worked for you.
Greetings
thank you for your reply.
it's actually not a bootloop. the phone boots normally and works fine for some times (few seconds/minutes) then it freezes for few seconds, then the screen turns black for a second, then shows the boot animation (doesn't show the boot screen with the samsung logo). it works fine for some time, then again.
it seems that the problem is related to the wifi. it only happens when wifi is on.
On Samfirmware.com they say that you should make a Factory Reset after flashing, maybe that works for you ? I flashed the KS9 Stock today and had some problems till I did this in Recovery. Else I would have no Idea, maybe reflash or get another Version ?
You could also try to install any custom Rom, like Jusada´s ICS for example, just to test if there are problems with CM also ..
Umm, maybe a question to those who only touch the Earth to answer our Newb questions...is it possible that the Ace restarts when it get´s attacked from the outside ? I faced that after flashing a Rom that I modified and didn´t have the right Permissions the Phone restarted/bootlooped when I tried to install any App (\data\app wasn´t set correct)
Greetings
thank you. i guess i'll try to flash again. or maybe try a different stock.

He should try to upgrade to KS3 v1.1. That's final update for TheMyth KS3 with:
- Meizu Myth theme
- BLN Control activated
- changed some small things

my first attempt was with KS2. that's when the problem started, even before i install TheMyth. The 1.1 update didnt help either.
I guess my phone is not getting along with the KS2 baseband. i will just switch to GingerReal, hopefully it will be stable.
thank you everyone

Standard installation instructions:
Do the same stuff as with CM7.2
Complete noob's installation instructions:
0. FIRST OF ALL CHECK IF YOUR PHONE IS A GSM (R800i) PHONE! If you live in America/Canada, it most probably isn't! Also check if your bootloader is already unlocked, if it's not, go here
1. Download Flashtool from here (Make sure you also install the correct drivers!)
2. Download the stock .62 baseband FTF from here
3. Load it into Flashtool
4. Put your device in flash mode when asked (Hold BACK while connecting to USB)
5. Wait for it to finish
6. Get fastboot from here and unpack it to a convenient location (Again, make sure your drivers are OK!)
7. Click the download link below here and open the PLOYOS.zip and copy the boot.img you can find in there into the fastboot folder
8. Shift right-click on the blank background of the folder (Have nothing selected) and click open command window here (or whatever that is in your system language)
9. Type
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and wait for it to finish flashing
10. Then boot up your phone and press the volume down key when the led in your power button gets lit
11. In recovery navigate with the volume keys to data/factory reset, then confirm with the home button (or search, not sure) then do the same thing but select cache, and then move to advanced and in there choose wipe dalvik cache
12. Go back and choose mounts and storage>mount sdcard
13. Plug in your USB and copy the iPlayOS.zip / PLOYOS.zip to your SD card
14. Go back all the way and choose Install zip from SD Card
15. Look for the iPlayOS.zip / PLOYOS.zip and wait for it to finish installing
16. Reboot, and all should work now! If it doesn't, you have either done something wrong or your phone isn't a GSM Xperia Play
I hope that is a clear enough guide ! At least I don't have to explain anything about that now (I hope)
Download links:
Old
PLOYOS v1 (original)
New
iPlay OS v2 Full
iPlay OS v2 Lite version (To see wich apps I removed refer to the changelog above)
'OMG YOU DELETED THIS AND THAT APP THAT I REALY NEED'
Don't sweat, just download either the full version, or both the lite and full version,
open them both up in winrar, navigate both to system/app and just drag the apps that you realy need from the full version to the light version.
thanks to
ijustintouch for the awesome boot animation

Make sure you got a GSM device (R800i)
If you live in America, you probably don't have one.
If you do have a GSM device, try a fresh install with the stock 62 firmware, flash the boot.img included in the ployos.zip in fastboot, and do a full factory reset before flashing just to be sure ( wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, advanced>wipe dalvik cache)

Hello to everyone,
i have a ds5 with 2.2.2 android, kernel version 2.6.32-perf
i had intalled an application called titanium back up and when i install the latest update all my problem started.

i had to remove every single one of my applications and games, then install again so that can be open.
but even now sometimes the programmes crash. its very annoying,
can i fix this?
can i put any new rom? an update or sth else? i want my phone to be at its best again. thanks

Hi,
I have similar rebooting issue with my gf's streak 5. It keeps rebooting while she is on candy crush game or any other games. It reboots more frequently while playing games than doing other task like music or video streaming via dlna etc.
It is on
ROM: LXDroid ROM 0.2
Kernel: DSC 2.6.35.14-DSC-Team-Phoenix
Baseband: GAUSB1A132013-EU
Android 2.3.7
I am not sure what is the exact problem. I am from Singapore, could it be due to the baseband version that i am using that causing these random reboots?

I have similar rebooting issue with my gf's streak 5. It keeps rebooting while she is on candy crush game or any other games. It reboots more frequently while playing games than doing other task like music or video streaming via dlna etc.
It is on
ROM: LXDroid ROM 0.2
Kernel: DSC 2.6.35.14-DSC-Team-Phoenix
Baseband: GAUSB1A132013-EU
Android 2.3.7
I am not sure what is the exact problem. I am from Singapore, could it be due to the baseband version that i am using that causing these random reboots?

You could flash the new CM kernel (U30 is latest I think). Also downclocking the CPU could help to prevent reboots.

tried phoenix kernel u30 on PCM7...my streak always freeze when using mobile data waiting 30 minute...screen still no respon and won't reboot,so i remove the battery and put it back but the issues is coming back
and same happen on other CM7 rom like longhorn n lxdroid
yes it doesn't reboot but mobile data freeze issues make me frustated
NB : i won't changed other cusROM...i love CM7 but how to fix my issues ?!
try pcm7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1977598
but use the original one, not the updated one...
and no need to flash phoenix kernel...
and also use 366bb...
after flashing, of course do the resets and everything and then set network preferences to wcdma only and untick use only 2g network, and for access point, select 3g connection for your telco
After you flash rom and BB,before you reboot. . . . Hit the reset/wipe in streakmod recovery. . . . Then hit reboot. . . . But before it reboots. . . . Go into "stock" recovery (not streakmod) and hit factory reset
I had reboot loop probelms on afew different roms. . . Until i did this

Ide like to add. . . . I think if you have an old battery,or a bad one,it will restart randomly also. . . . . even if plugged in

is that true?
see,i having random reboot and mobile data freeze issues during 2 month...I've been many times to change CusROM,Kernel,Baseband, until I replace new innersd 4GB Class 4
but until now 2 this problem hasn't been solved
pcm 7 i need to flash it twice... one when it hangs... and then i flash again... this time not doing any factory reset... and it should boot successfully... of course i use 366bb at that time..
I guess its not your battery then,i just noticed how mine after 2 years, its not holding a charge and rebooting sometimes when it "shows" it has power
Have you tried flashing your rom and factory reseting. . . . at the same time
In other words,as soon as you flash your rom,and while still in streakmod. . . . hit factory reset. Then after that, reboot back into stock recovery and reset

If it's possible damage to hardware? If that so, which part I've to change/Repair?
Please Help!!! there are other ways to solve my problem.
I found a lot of Streak users have the same problem as me and the problem still unsolved
I really love my Streak I want my streak back to normal.
