hi.
i flashed stock rom S5830XWKS2 through Odin. the phone started rebooting randomly.
then i flashed custom rom TheMyth KS3 but the problem kept getting worse. when i'm using the phone, it reboots every few seconds.
i flashed stock rom S5830XWKS3. but the Baseband version in the phone didnt change (S5830XWKS2). and the problem is still persistent.
the phones does not do full reboot. it freezes, the screen goes black, then goes strait to the boot animation.
also, if it reboots while transferring files through mass usb storage, the transfer doesnt stop, to continues normally.
1. any idea why is this happening?
2. why didnt the baseband version change when i flashed KS3?
3. do you recommend another stock rom to flash.
p.s: KS3 seems fast. i got 1040 score in quadrant on stock rom.
i would appreciate any help. thanks

Hey !
The Baseband Version is KS2 while Build is KS9 (in my stock rom)
If you end in Bootloops, press Power + Home till you get into recovery, then Clear data/Factory Reset and clear Cache, then reboot.
Come back and tell me if it worked for you.
Greetings
thank you for your reply.
it's actually not a bootloop. the phone boots normally and works fine for some times (few seconds/minutes) then it freezes for few seconds, then the screen turns black for a second, then shows the boot animation (doesn't show the boot screen with the samsung logo). it works fine for some time, then again.
it seems that the problem is related to the wifi. it only happens when wifi is on.
On Samfirmware.com they say that you should make a Factory Reset after flashing, maybe that works for you ? I flashed the KS9 Stock today and had some problems till I did this in Recovery. Else I would have no Idea, maybe reflash or get another Version ?
You could also try to install any custom Rom, like Jusada´s ICS for example, just to test if there are problems with CM also ..
Umm, maybe a question to those who only touch the Earth to answer our Newb questions...is it possible that the Ace restarts when it get´s attacked from the outside ? I faced that after flashing a Rom that I modified and didn´t have the right Permissions the Phone restarted/bootlooped when I tried to install any App (\data\app wasn´t set correct)
Greetings
thank you. i guess i'll try to flash again. or maybe try a different stock.

He should try to upgrade to KS3 v1.1. That's final update for TheMyth KS3 with:
- Meizu Myth theme
- BLN Control activated
- changed some small things
>> I think this update can help him to solve frequent random reboot in TheMyth KS3

my first attempt was with KS2. that's when the problem started, even before i install TheMyth. The 1.1 update didnt help either.
I guess my phone is not getting along with the KS2 baseband. i will just switch to GingerReal, hopefully it will be stable.
thank you everyone

This is only for Telus Fascinate not Verizon Fascniate!!
I'm not good at speaking English just you know (or can somebody rewrite this for me??)
As you know, Telus Fascinate is pretty simillar to Galaxy I9000
The differences between those two are FF Camera, buttons, and some others
Okay Ill shut up and let you know how to flash MIUI/CM7 rom
Flash it at your own risk!!! I'm not responsible for anythings that you just did!! This is only for people who know how to fix your 700$ toy. Read Carefully.!! There might be alot of bugs when you are using this methoud.
Things that you need
1. speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar
2. Newest Version of MIUI Rom or Newest Version of CM7 Rom
3. cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar
4. galaxy-efsbackup.zip
5. [CM7/MIUI]Telus Fascinate Platypus Kernel
Here is How! (How to flash it, when you are using stock Froyo Rom)
1. Get those files download
2. Copy all these files into your Phone (except speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar & cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar files)
3. Get into download mode and than flash speedmod-kernel-k13c-500hz.tar with using odin (do not check mark on the repartition!)
4. Get into recovery mode and than install galaxys-efsbackup.zip
5. Turn off your device and than get into download mode again
6. Install cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar with using odin again (do not check mark on the repartition and auto reboot!!!)
7. Unplug your USB and than get into recovery mode again
8. Choose "mounts & storage" and format system, data, and cache
9. Flash MIUI Rom or CM7 Rom
10. Reboot your device and you will see MIUI rom booting and make sure you are in service and 3g working fine. If you dont get any of that you might have to go back to stock Froyo rom and do this steps again.
11. If you have service and 3g data working, go to recovery mode again!!
14. After done flashing it install [CM7/MIUI]Telus Fascinate Platypus Kernel kernel from recovery
15. Reboot your device and you will be running MIUI Rom or CM7 Rom
Starting from Telus Fascinate Platypus Kernle Quorra-r8, there is no need of changing home key and back key
16. There is a problem between home key and back key. They are reversed. so Donload Root Explorer app
17. Run Root Explorer and than go look for /system/usr/keylayout/cypress-touchkey.kl longpress of cypress-touchkey.kl file and you will see Open in Text Editor Press it
18. you will see in your text
key 139 MENU VIRTUAL
key 102 HOME VIRTUAL
key 158 BACK VIRTUAL
key 217 SEARCH VIRTUAL
19. Change this in to
key 139 MENU VIRTUAL
key 158 HOME VIRTUAL
key 102 BACK VIRTUAL
key 217 SEARCH VIRTUAL
20. and save it and reboot your device!!!!!
Please read this guide carefully and flash it at your own risk!!!!!
Sorry for my Bad English !!!!!
Thanks to (please dontae them!!)
The MIUI9000 team :MAMBO04, jblanc and Kenia

zacharias.maladroit for the Kernel Build (Big thanks to you!!)
I know that you guys will understand my guide
I would be happy to test this on my device. Glad to see more roms/tutorials for the telus facinate.

I recommend to use GALAXYS and you dont need to worry about flashing back the Telus modem cause it is fine to use jvk modem.
If you want it, i can make one for you.

No, I'm refering to the built in geo-magnetic sensor. Essentially the built in compass.
Edit: But the accelerometer doesn't work either, I don't particularly care about that.
Also, occasionally after being plugged in, the software seems to ignore the fact that it's charging until reboot. That one sucks because it stops charging while I'm sleeping.
Camera app occasionally won't display a preview until the phone is locked/unlocked with the app open. Widgets disappear puriodically, and sometimes it won't let me fruit ninja
Hey harimgs,
is it normal to constantly bootloop on miui? My phone will bootloop 3 or 4 times then finally boot on the 5th.

The first few times it takes a while, I think the boot animation is too long/too short. I changed it to a different one (Through the theme manager) and it boots a lot quicker now.

So, say I wanted to overclock the phone, afaik there is no kernel allowing to do that, right? Supercurio's didn't allow it when I used it on my 959D to load Darky's and SimplyHoney and I just flashed CM7 using the instructions in this thread (so I'm now running Platypus kernel).
Also, is there a lagfix included with CM7?
Hey! I was using 2.3.3 miui rom with Platypus everything worked fine, I upgraded myself to the new miui rom which uses 2.3.4 and problem is when I flash the kernel if wont go past the cm7 boot logo. I have flashed it several times and reinstalled the rom still same issue.
I just installed this AOKP+Aroma Installer ROM from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580449
And I have NEVER been able to get past the Start-Up screen. It reboots every 30 seconds from the moment I press "Start". Is anybody else having this problem with this ROM as well?
I'm using a Korean Atrix btw, MB861. I would REALLY appreciate the help!
EDIT: Okay, so I've gotten past the start-up screen by skipping everything (setting up time, Google account, etc.) and now I got to the lock screen. Now, if I don't touch the phone at all, it stays on. But once I try to unlock the phone, it is 100% SURE to reboot 30 seconds right after I unlock it. Is there no workaround for this??

you have to do a "format / system" is needed .... (in recovery).
then you'll probably lose touch in recovery, proceed with the installation aroma ...
up / down = volume
enter = power button
= capacitive return any key.

ok .... then try fastboot wipe (it worked for some users).
I get this also with all ics roms but im having bp problems that are probably causing that.. nottach 1.3.1 and darkside stripped down are only reliable, stable roms I can run personally... and even those its only in boot android bp pass mode. Cold boot linux.

In AROMA set Full Wipe, and try to install only one Launcher, and take a look Kernels screen, check your Kernel and select the correct, i think you are trying some FauxKernel try original 1100 or your kernel...
I've tried installing all three of Joker's kernels (1.0, 1.3, 1.45) and still my Atrix goes haywire. I've tried all kinds of installs (Default, Custom, Full Wipe, Non Wipe, etc.) but none have worked. I wanted this ICS ROM so bad! Is there anything I have to do before I flash this ROM again? I've flashed it maybe 10 times or so now.
Which is your Kernel? Try the oders, the firsts 4 Kernels, like 1100 and others, stock kernels.
I don't know if I want to try installing another kernel, because I don't want to brick my Atrix. I've tried looking for kernels that were made for AOKP, but to no avail. Maybe you could give me a link to a good kernel that will work for AOKP? It's been half a day, and I still haven't been able to use my device...
EDIT: I also noticed that I don't have any service, and the backlights for the softkeys aren't lighting up. So I now have three things to deal with: constant reboot, no service, and softkeys backlights.
you can install rom joker?
I haven't tried installing other ROMs... Do you mean this one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445052 I'll be downloading and installing it ASAP. I hope the problem goes away.

I wasn't able to download Joker's ROM, however, I have tried other ROMs, namely Neutrino and the Official CM7 for Atrix. I noticed one thing that both ROMs worked properly, but they didn't have Google Apps pre-installed, so I had to get and install Gapps separately. Then, when I installed the Gapps, that's when the rebooting problem started again. I think my problem has something to do with Google Apps...
I have similar problem when I did install the AOKP from for the first time. It become unstable. I did fastboot to flash the wrapped the phone and install again with (current version is 37a) and it's become quite stable now.

Problem is fixed!... For now.
I was doing a LOT of research today, and I found some info about rebooting Atrixes which involved radios. I studied this, and I found out that by flashing the correct radio file, I could potentially solve this issue. I just flashed this radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260963 and the issue seems to be fixed. I am currently on this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257574 and so far, the phone has been smooth as butter! I have yet to try with AOKP. I am going to report as soon as possible regarding this ROM. But so far, everything is A-OK! Thanks for all the help, everybody! You have all been very helpful!

After that i downloaded and flashed the sliding xp v5 kernel
Everything worked perfect and i wanted to install a custom rom, and i thought that the vision rom would be perfect.
I installed the vision rom v2 in cwm recovery and everything seemed perfect, i like the rom and everything is good but i have a few problems :-/
First i had the problem that sometimes when the screen locks and turns off, when i press the unlock button the screen wont turn on,i can hear that the phone works when i try to take a ss i hear the soind, but the screen wont turn on until i hard restart the phone :-/
The second problem is that the phone just restarts itself randomly sometimes :-/
And the last thin is that when i go in the dialer to call someone it happebs alot of times that the phone lags a lot there and it happens often that when someobe is calling me or when i call someone that it lags and the phone freezes :-/
Can someone tell me why is this happening, because of the kernel or the rom?
and what should i do to fix it,if possible i would like to keep all the settings which i made because i allready personalized it much....

Before that flash stock rom via flash tool to make clean install.

First of all the flash stock rom you need to put the ftf file in Flashtool/firmwares
Then connect the device in flashmode and flash rom (device switched off and to enter flashmode just do vol- and put usb in).
When flashing official stock rom as much as i know you will lose data, and its better to have clean install.
If you flash munjeni's kernel and the rom you want, and if you restore the back up that will flash the old boot.image too, i mean the old kernel and that is not wanted.

Yeah buddy, its all in Sola section.
Hello to everyone,
i have a ds5 with 2.2.2 android, kernel version 2.6.32-perf
i had intalled an application called titanium back up and when i install the latest update all my problem started.
my greek keybord doesnt working and enerything else.
i remove the program that causes all this but the phone didnt get right.
i had to remove every single one of my applications and games, then install again so that can be open.
but even now sometimes the programmes crash. its very annoying,
can i fix this?
can i put any new rom? an update or sth else? i want my phone to be at its best again. thanks
You should upgrade to DSC 2.3(gb 2.3.3) or PCM7(gb 2.3.7) rom. Go to the development theard and find how to install it, good luck

Hi,
I have similar rebooting issue with my gf's streak 5. It keeps rebooting while she is on candy crush game or any other games. It reboots more frequently while playing games than doing other task like music or video streaming via dlna etc.
It is on
ROM: LXDroid ROM 0.2
Kernel: DSC 2.6.35.14-DSC-Team-Phoenix
Baseband: GAUSB1A132013-EU
Android 2.3.7
I am not sure what is the exact problem. I am from Singapore, could it be due to the baseband version that i am using that causing these random reboots?

tried phoenix kernel u30 on PCM7...my streak always freeze when using mobile data waiting 30 minute...screen still no respon and won't reboot,so i remove the battery and put it back but the issues is coming back
and same happen on other CM7 rom like longhorn n lxdroid
yes it doesn't reboot but mobile data freeze issues make me frustated
NB : i won't changed other cusROM...i love CM7 but how to fix my issues ?!
try pcm7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1977598
but use the original one, not the updated one...
and no need to flash phoenix kernel...
and also use 366bb...
after flashing, of course do the resets and everything and then set network preferences to wcdma only and untick use only 2g network, and for access point, select 3g connection for your telco
After you flash rom and BB,before you reboot. . . . Hit the reset/wipe in streakmod recovery. . . . Then hit reboot. . . . But before it reboots. . . . Go into "stock" recovery (not streakmod) and hit factory reset
I had reboot loop probelms on afew different roms. . . Until i did this
posted from my Pimped out Dell
Ide like to add. . . . I think if you have an old battery,or a bad one,it will restart randomly also. . . . . even if plugged in

but use the original one, not the updated one...
and no need to flash phoenix kernel...
and also use 366bb...
after flashing, of course do the resets and everything and then set network preferences to wcdma only and untick use only 2g network, and for access point, select 3g connection for your telco

Ide like to add. . . . I think if you have an old battery,or a bad one,it will restart randomly also. . . . . even if plugged in

is that true?
see,i having random reboot and mobile data freeze issues during 2 month...I've been many times to change CusROM,Kernel,Baseband, until I replace new innersd 4GB Class 4
but until now 2 this problem hasn't been solved
pcm 7 i need to flash it twice... one when it hangs... and then i flash again... this time not doing any factory reset... and it should boot successfully... of course i use 366bb at that time..
I guess its not your battery then,i just noticed how mine after 2 years, its not holding a charge and rebooting sometimes when it "shows" it has power
Have you tried flashing your rom and factory reseting. . . . at the same time
In other words,as soon as you flash your rom,and while still in streakmod. . . . hit factory reset. Then after that, reboot back into stock recovery and reset

Hey guys,
having a trouble for the last couple weeks.
about 5-6 times a day, with no apparent reason, nor something specific i'm doing.
my phone suddenly freezes and the screen goes black, and the notifications led goes blue (not blinking, permanent blue).
only way out of this is long pressing the power button, and the phone goes back on, as if it was turned off.
tried to find out the source of the problem but with no luck.
i'm using
GT-i9300 S3
Rom: cfDroid v13.1 - based on XXEMA2 (4.1.2 android)
Kernel: Perseus alpha 33 (the latest)
Modem: DXELK1
Mods: JKay, acid soundmod, and some other that comes with cfDroid rom
Anyway to pin point the problem and take care of it without having to fully wipe and install a fresh rom?
if you need any more details please ask and i'll post.
Thanks
Are you undervolting the cpu?
No i dont

Re-flash ROM you're using, wipe cache and Dalvik only, if still no improvement change kernel.

i have the same problem. wiping dalvik cache and cache doesnt fix that problem.
Rom: Omega Rom v43
Kernel: Perseus 33.2
currently im switching over to yank and report back, if the problem is gone.
Hey, please update if it is kernel related.
i want to know this before re-flashing the rom
Thanks!
i'm running yank since 2h and the problem is gone... please test this and report back, so we can send Andrei a message.

My kernel log:
pastebin.com/hRSpzu0D
I hope somebody is more kernel knowledge can take a look at the paste.
Thanks in advance.
Ok too early to be glad.
the problem is back, only now its less frequent, and the device simply turns off.

I am on stock. I only added root to be able to see the kernel log.
So it appears to me it isn't really rom related. More like 'something in 4.1.2'.
I wish i could put my finger on it.
Regards.
edit:
Maybe we should start to compare the hardware components?
maybe I solved that.

There was some user reported that problem the last few days...
I had a similar issue, opened a thread yesterday, followed after Slaphead20 advice and make a factory reset.
what i've done was:
factory reset, cache delet from the recovery mode.
flashed and old rom, let kies do the upgrade.
(backed up through myback up) and re-install only what I really needed.
now the phone seem to be running much faster, no lag at all.
i'm still waiting to see if it's freeze.
Still, I think it a software related since so many users start feel those freezes at the same time, it might be some bug in the last update.

Already crashed and burned. Tried to open YouTube.
Saw the "Introduction screen".
Wanted to clear the notifications so pulled down the notification bar.
Pressed "Clear" (don't know what the english text is there).
And freezed. No response at all.
Back to square one! :crying:
OK after running yank555 kernel for couple of days,
the problem still occurs, only now its more rare (1-2 times a day)
and now no led blinking in blue - the device turns off completely
