hey guys, im trying to get a vibrant and found this guy who has a mint condition vibrant but the touch sensitive buttons dont work, the screen is perfectly working but the bottom buttons wont register the touch... some time they do but most of the time they dont... there is no water damage and he says that the phone has not been dropped so, wtf happened here? any software related thing going on here?
ill buy it if there is any way to fix it, maybe some of you have experienced this issue and have an answer?? thanks and please give me some advice
I've returned 2 vibrates because of the home button being haywire. From everything I've heard also, I'd advise you not to get the phone from this guy, its a hardware malfunction.

shyt man i have the same issue on mahh vibrant....ive tryy everythinq i cann and i couldnt get it working....
Someone it depends on the rom yiu install too. I had that problem when I bought mine from a guy at craigslist.. But when I installed axura or other rom, the home button worked flawlessly. I don't totaly agree that its "hardware issue" I think its on the software "roms"

Does anyone know where to get a replacement bezel? I bought my phone used and it has some nicks and scratches on the bezel. I think I have a mild form of OCD and it drives me insane to see scratches on it. Also what size Torx wrench would I need to take this thing apart? All input appreciated!
The bezel, as in the piece attacked to the screen, or the plastic ring that's slightly higher around it?
The glass piece is about 40~ bucks, the plastic? I've had a quick look on the Google and found nothing, sorry dude.
I am pretty sure it is the plastic around the glass screen. Mine is loose in one of the corners and it is making me upset. I would love to know where to get a new one, but for now, I just have a case on it to make sure it all stays together
My best suggestion would be to just repaint yours for now.
Call verizon if your having audio issues hint hint...I know someone who bought a use phone and it had a few things wrong so they sent them a refurbished one, these phones have a one year manufacture warranty it doesnt matter that you got it used they dont know that.

Hmm, sounds like it would work, but I don't know if I would really want to do that... I might if a replacement bezel is out of the picture.
I know it will work,I bought a used thunder bolt it wouldnt mount to my pc called and told them about they never asked if i bought it used or anything. My friend had the same issues as yourself but i think they may have told them something else was wrong with it and they sent a refurb to them, its up to you but they just send them back and get refunded...
Hmm, the buzzing behind my music is a legitimate enough reason to ask Verizon for a new one. I might go this weekend and see if they will replace it.
You might want to call in they dont have refurbs in store most of the time they overnight them to you.

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if they would let me get a Nexus? I love this phone, but I would really like to try out a Nexus. Then if I don't like it I could just trade someone for another Rezound

I was looking around for this same thing, and I think I might of found something, try this and let me know. (If I ever need to) also, I am curious to see if you can get a Nexus. (I still love my Rezound though)

I will try it out tomorrow after I call Verizon. I am also curious if they will give me a Nexus. I bet if I complain about the build quality of the phone and how I'm not happy with it and maybe threaten not to come back when my contract is up they would give it to me I do still love this phone though, so if they will just replace it I will be happy.

I got a new transformer prime a couple of days ago, and I'm happy to report it has no wifi, GPS or Bluetooth issues
but it has a 3 stuck pixels in a 1.5cm area, which is covered under warranty, atleast as I understand
My thing is I wanna keep it. Is there anyway to 'wake them up' like you could with iOS products thru a cydia app
Thanks in advance
EDIT REASON: oops! I originally called the pixels dead. Thanks for getting me to notice that

Nope, you can't raise pixels from the dead.
If you don't believe me, you can try a pixel fixing app (like this one: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.htc.chris.blackspotdetect&feature=search_result) and see if it helps you, however if your pixel is actually dead (and not just stuck) there likely isn't any software that will fix it.

Oops, i meant stuck, not dead. Thanks for making me notice my error.
I tried your application but the stuck pixels are in the lower bar and your application won't rotate. I found another app that does.
Should I put the time in to try to fix them, or are these apps useless?

Some people say these apps work ad other say it doesn't fix their issue.
If you have an hour or two to spend trying to fix it, I would say it couldn't hurt anything to try. If it doesn't work then you should still be able to go the RMA route.

hey, just wondering what happened? did you RMA?
I bought a used transformer, and it has light bleed, and at least 8 stuck pixels [mostly only viewable on Black] scattered around, some smaller, some bigger.
can I RMA it? I'm not even sure about the warranty but I assume it's been less than a year from the original purchase..

+1 The green camera issue plagues alot of users and it's hardware all the way. You'd be bigger then, well, the big guy if you posted a fix for the camera..
Thanks for support.
I don't understand what the problem with the camera is. Do you have some details to give me ? or a video of the issue ?

Hi, great video and great timing, my screen cracked yesterday after a "screen first landing from my bed". I already ordered a replacement one and your video gave me great hints on how to dismantle it, however I'm still wondering if anything else is needed to put it back together with the new one. Does the screen comes with some kind of glue on the sides? Any tape that I need to take in consideration? or it should just snap back in place?
Thanks for doing this tutorial and I would appreciate anyone who can help me with these questions.

Or hell find a place that will fix it, I cant send it to ASUS because of the unlock thing and because I dropped it recentlly but no other damage was done to the tablet though
now just some scratches

TRY ON EBAY I BOUGHT ALREADY AND WAITING FOR THE DIGITAL TOUCH SCREEN ALSO
search for "TF201 DIGITIZER" YOU WILL FIND A LOT
hope i help you
I'm aware that they have them on Ebay, dozens of them, but every one that I have seen bought has a screwed up X-axis.
When you install yours make sure to test it BEFORE you take it down.

I think he means to test it before you permanently mount it.
There doesn't seem to be any way to remove a cracked digitizer from the mouning bezel without destroying it. Even though your glass may currently be cracked, I'm sure it still works at least. If you remove (and destoy) your digitizer glass, you won't want to discover that your replacement has the left and right axis reversed.
Disconnect the ribbon cable for existing (cracked) digizer glass. Connect the new digitizer glass. Boot your prime. Make certain that the new glass is the right model and the left/right is correct.
Even easier than that. Compare the rev numbers of the replacment digizier and the existing one. If they are different revs, you'll be hosed.
My Kickstarter Omate Truesmart arrived yesterday. Super excited.
Today I wore it as a wristwatch for the first time. Within 2 hours, just wearing it on a standard tube journey, nothing untoward or unusual - not banged or something- it had lost the power button. [Edit: By this I mean it's fallen off and gone missing, if that's not clear!] I now can't turn it on.
On the plus side, the battery life is amazing. You'll never have to charge it - the battery is good for the lifetime of the device!
Now how do I contact Omate and tell them this isn't right?
UPDATE: OMATE did indeed swap the watch for a working one in the end. It took a while, but they are worth talking to with issues. Credit to em, in the end.
Try unscrewing the back and press the battery in whilst trying to turn it on. Some of the watches seem to be a bit loose. If it works, you'll probably need to wedge a bit of card between the battery and the watch back.
Have you tried the other battery?

How does this solve the problem of the power button falling off and going missing? *baffled*
Perhaps I should have been more explicit. This isn't a software bug. The button fell off in casual wear. As per subject line: Shoddy build. All there is now is a hole in the side of the watch.

Post a picture, people will understand it better. For some, english is not their first language.
Regarding warranty issue, contact them through one of the emails: http://omate.com/contacts.html or go to their official forum and ask people for advice. I'm sure someone will chime in with a suggestion. I'm not doubting you, but still have a hard time understanding how that button can fall out since it supposed to go inward.
Thanks. I sent an email to them. Bit worried that some people have had trouble contacting them though.

For the record, despite several attempts to elicit a response from Omate on several email addresses, I've received no meaningful reply from them on this.
For the moment, I have to say: Caveat Emptor with this company.

Saw the image posted. It looks like you lost not only the button but the stainless steel bushing that was compression seated into the case. I tried to remove the button and bushing from the case on one and gave up when I started looking for a hammer. Even though it sucks, I would consider you experience the exception and not the rule.

That's something. Though little consolation. Someone else over on the Omate forums says he's lost the power button as well. So there's more than one gone this way...
The news is that Omate finally wrote back:

Thanks

So yes - it's worth persevering. I think they are probably understaffed, and rather busy, and you must be very patient; but they do the right thing by customers in the end.
