Quick theme question-font colors - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In my theme I'm making I want to have a black background in the menu. I need to know what xml file where has control over the menu font color.
I also have a question/request. Regarding kernels. Is possible to make one that ONLY removes/raises fps cap? I dont care for overclocking or undervolting. I want those as they are stock. But for fps, f*** a bunch of sony locking it down. It'd also ne nice to have gps back. But I mention the stuff about cpu because of rebooting on <26% battery...yeah.

Um, is anyone ever going to answer any of my questions....?

[Q] Force B&W?

Is it hypothetically possible for something (a ROM, or something more simple) to force the Vibrant to run in monochrome? With absolutely no colors?
Yeah I think it would be possible. CyanogenMod has a feature to only render certain colors (or something to that effect) for potential battery savings.
Is that why you were asking? Or is there another reason you would use this?
I know there use to be a ROM that was all B&W.. It was one of the earilier versions of Loki..

I second this motion, I love the blackout theme for bionix but it would be way better to have a comepletely black and white phone with no colored icons

Battery savings would be nice, but I'm more in agreement with what streeghtrider nick said.. at times I just feel like the colors are too much and want to revert to something that is simpler (and, personally, classier).
Washed-out, or grayed, tones would be even nicer.
I did a search for "cyanogen mod render color" and some interesting/promising links showed up. I'll look into them more and post an update.. hopefully.
I was just curious, because, yeah as a theme it would be great. For media consumption (anything more than reading an e-book), not so much. There are more than a few black and white themes here. You can also download icon packs to complete the look.
But to only render in black and white, watching movies/videos wouldnt be too great. Not to mention the number of apps/games that use color cues as part of the UI.
Thankfully, with CM's implementation, these can be toggled without rebooting, with an app or widget on your homescreen. If you really want to give it a go, theres a CM beta in the development section. Keep in mind, the GPS is currently broken. So if you're like me, and use GPS all the time, you'll want to stay away.

[Q] Overclocking advice, please.

What is the simplest way to gain the ability to change the cpu setting on the Streak?
It looks like a small increase makes for a noticeable change in performance.
If I understand it correctly, you can't do it without a custom build, is this correct?
Never mind. The local search engine leaves much to be desired but Google found it for me.
Mod suggestions:
The ability to delete a post if it is not quoted by someone else would be nice.
How about the ability to close a thread you opened if you consider it resolved.
To overclock the kernel has to be altered from stock. You can use on of the StreakDroid Roms or the SimpleStreak Rom. If you want to use/stay on build 318 there is a performance fix available that installs the overclock kernel.

Transparent Stock and Phone Theme

Stock Contacts and Phone Themed Transparent. Im not a big fan of transparent apps, but I know some people are. This can also be a base for other themes.
Dialer background before placing a call can be themed as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215898
The only other image I really changed was the blue button when speaker is on, because I had to.
In call dial background, I think transparency has to be set using .xml, I tried replacing with transparent image and just turned black. Could possibly be done later, will have to do some digging. You can change the image to whatever you wish by following link above. I personally don't think a transparent incall background would be real cool, it would probably confuse me a bit while im looking for my key to press.
theres a black bar in scolling contacts list, pretty sure this in colors.xml, can change if needed.
Anyways ,there it is, enjoy. tested on 160 & 210dpi
As usual keys are off the screen in high res. ( may be able to do .xml edits to control this a bit. But a have one more theme planned first.

Id' love to hear feedback guys, lets me know how Im doing. Even screenshots are cool! thanks
congratulations you did it, chrisrotolo you're great

cheers!
thanks chrisrotolo,
very nice on streakdroid 1.9.1 with RedStreak 0.4 theme.
Installed it today ! nice job.
Just one thing : is it possible to have white numbers on the caller ? quite all my walls are dark so it's difficult to make a call...

Happy with it, no theming planned at the moment, but Im sure I will later. Always here to help though. Hopefully 5 will be getting ICS one way or another..

CM7 ZIP THEMER/METAMORPH THEMES and MORPHS

I did not see the EXCELLENT work of UPWARDSPIRAL and DON'T PANIC in the I777 threads so I thought I would point them out in case anyone that hasnt seen them could take a look at them. I DID NOT make these or have anything involved with THEIR projects, I AM SOLELY a USER of them since my Captivate Days on CM7 and have continued on my SGS2.The Themes can be found at the link and also available in the market for the CM7 THEME CHOOSER, The DON'T PANICS Morphs that go with these themes can be found at his post.
I personally use Red Remix Theme Chooser Theme from UPWARDSPIRAL and use the associated morphs (BASIC ADDONS,SLIDER ROTARY MORPHS(TRANSPARENT), STANDARD ADDONS, FINISHING TOUCHES,EXTREME'S DIALER, BOOT ANIMATIONS, and NOW the IN-CALL DIALER DON'T PANIC HOOKED ME UP WITH TO FINISH IT OFF). Below are some sample screen shots of their work from my phone or from their pages. Hit up their links and give them Thanks if you like them and use them.
These are the links to their Post for anyone to check out.

I have always considered these themes and morphs as the MOST COMPLETE as far as Looks, Integration, and style.
(I will UPLOAD pics from my phone here so you can see the setup, you can also check out their sites for the full look and feel).
If you have your own screenshots of using any of the UpwardSpiral themes feel free to post them. I have also replied in both their original post so maybe they will copy their post into this forum as well.

Sweet!! I've been wanting a good quality red theme. So much less eye strain (pathetic how much I stare at screens that I need to keep this in mind). Too much working on computers and websites. Gotta save my eyes for using my sgsii!

Just a request - feel free to shoot this down =) possible to do a don't panic for Kovdev's ICS theme which could possibly include the actual ICS lockscreen stuffs if you'd like? that would be huge i know i would tip 20 without thinking lol!
Great work Op! I've been looking for a mod like this! an ICS theme would completely take the cake though - especially with the ICS screen transition that appears to transition the screen (you are switching to) horizontally atop the current screen. Ice cold

I am NOT the dev of these and is why I linked them to their repsective threads. I am just a HAPPY user and been using them for a long time on my cappy and now my SGS2. So I thought I would share them here since I didn't see them represented. So head over to their threads and hit them up.

CM9 Advantages?

What advantages will/does CM9 provide over just running the stock ICS build for the TFP? I'm pretty happy with stock once I can disable a few choice programs, but I'm interested in CM9. I've used other ROMs for my other devices and for my Original TF, but I'm having a hard time deciding with my Prime.
It looks like they are adding some sort of quick settings to the notification area and they have a performance menu in the settings. They usually have a customizable lock screen as well.
CM is normally a good solution to get to a more "vanilla" experience, however with the TFP the experience is fairly vanilla anyway. I'm shying away from switching to CM9 because I wonder if we will be able to port over the asus quick settings. I don't want to go to CM9 if that means losing the ability to toggle performance modes and ips/super ips+ modes.
CM does have lots of cool lock screen options. Also CM normally has built in overclocking/governor profiles which are great for conserving power.
Has the source code for the ICS kernel been released yet for TFP ?
i really dont think the performance toggles matter...CM will likely support changing of cpu frequencies via the settings menu as long as the kernels that are built have the frequency slots...so lets say balanced mode is 1.3 u would go into the settings menu of the rom and as long as the kernel has the slot u can select the min frequency and the max 1.3 also if the kernel supports undervolting you can set that via settings menu as well...no need for the asus performance modes...because its built in already to the rom usually i know that AOKP has this for the gnex and tab as well. as for the IPS+ thats something the CM team will have to add support for i think.
I can't find any information on the CM9 feature list either....love to see one.
Does Bluetooth GPS and Bluetooth controller work natively (without add on apps)?

judging from the posted video it seems the BT stack in CM9 for the TFP is working...but cant confirm it.
Cm9 would be good if you wanted to customize almost every aspect, even screen color temperature and cpu speed. Other that that I would not get it. I'm just going to get a custom kernel for the clock speeds because I like the way it us set up now

I'd be very interested in something similar to Siyah kernel for the SGS2.
