Android.secure is the folder where stock froyo android moves apps to the sd card by default. If you don't use the apps presently, you can safely remove the corresponding app files from the android.secure folder.
You can delete the files which you do not need from the folder. Just see the file name, you will know to which app it belongs. If you do not need that file, delete it.
thanks for the replies.. did just that and manange to free up more space. ^^

please delete all hidden folders on the sd card (they start with ".foldername")
of course make backup before.
you might need to redownload some apps then.
This is caused if you had apps in a previous version moved to sd.
how do i delete them if they are hidden???
thank you
The file explorer on the rom shows them or use root explorer. Or in windows set show all files (google how to show hidden folder on windows)

I am still gettin the same message that i dont have enough space on sd.
Should i format my sdcard?

First i would suggest to deinstall the apps which are already on sd. Then format sd card (make sure to only have 1 partition).
Then download from market and reinstall the apps. Then move to sd.
This is how i managed it.
(you can goto settings, applications, application administration and click on the sd tab and deinstall apps)

Could anyone send me link to the list of rom files for these? I need to know, because my emmc is filled to the brim, but I don't know what I can delete.

What ROM are you on now? If it's CM7, the emmc is the INTERNAL memory card. That only have 4.2 GB of space (even though it's advertised at 8GB). Unless you have changed the settings on the camera app (or other apps that save data to the sdcard) to save the pictures to emmc, you SHOULD be okay to wipe everything. Best thing to do is to put your phone in PC mode and copy everything off, or, if you have adb set up, issue:
Code:
adb pull /mnt/emmc
Just make sure you are in a directory that you want those files to go to.
Then, wipe the emmc. If you have issues, you can always transfer them back.
Ciao!
Thanks for the response. I am on cm7. Also, do any other non camera apps store files on the internal? Because on motoblur, my gameboid data was all in internal.

I know this is a stupid question...but once i flash a rom from my sd card can i delete the zip file from the sd along with kernels etc? Or do they need to stay there to work?

you can delete them... but you will have to redownload them if you ever want to flash those file again.
I have a p769 and was on ICS v10g rooted. I used the JB 20d rooted cwm backup to upgrade. I'm unable to move files from the internal sd card to my external sd card. external sd works fine, can use the files on it and play music from it.. anyone know what is causing this?
Instead of using backup and restore it try flashing full custom rom . It may be a bug or ya have not restored ya backup properly or md5 mismatch .
Lookout into the forum for best ROM and flash that
Thanks!!
Please hit the thanks button if i helped ya in anyways !!!
I wouldn't recommend flashing a custom rom, plus it is a long process to unlock the boot loader to do so (for the p769), and you really have to know what your doing to get everything working.
Now deadenz what app are you using to move files? you might just be doing something wrong. I have issues moving stuff when connect to a computer when using mtp. I use the smanager app to move files from internal to external.
Es file explorer

I just tested with root browser from rom toolbox pro and didn't have an issue. Issue is with es file explorer?
