I put this together for the folks that don't care about the ED01 modem and just want the stock ROM. It could also be useful for people that got the OTA, but want to go back to stock after flashing a custom ROM. I updated via Adrynalyne's method (Odin DL09, update to EA28, then ED01) that he posted here.
There are two versions, one for Odin, the other for CWM. The Odin version is still rooted, but otherwise stock. It will flash the ROM, kernel, and recovery, as well as perform a factory reset. The CWM Zip version is not rooted, but you will want to wipe data after you flash it (perform a factory reset). Neither method will flash the modem as I have no way to dump that, so you will need to already have the ED01 modem if you want to be fully stock.
Odin Version
CWM Zip Version
I'm guessing this gives CWM3?
And which kernel?

This is completely stock ED01 that has been rooted minus the modem. There is no CWM recovery, no custom kernel, it is all stock.
Ah ok. Do I flash this or the modem first?
Thanks.
flashing this will also remove and CWM you have installed.
Is this rooted with the new su package? Thanks

This doesn't include a modem, so you will be on the same baseband you were on beforehand. Until someone digs up a ED01 modem, you need to do the OTA to get the ED01 modem.

Yeah, until someone happens to find a full Odin package for ED01, or can somehow stumble upon just an ED01 modem, this will just be good for flashing the stock rooted ED01 system/kernel.
I thought the EC01 modem would work with this?

Modem and Radio r the same thing
Thanks for this. I have been flashing my phone every other week if not more since day 1 without any problems. Now that I want to sell it all of a sudden I'm stumped and can't get it back to working order before I ship it out. Hopefully this will solve my problems. Thanks again. Thunderbolt, here I come!
thanks for the ODIN! This will help greatly! Is it pretty much stock, or did you change a few things (DEBLOAT) and does it have the STAY AWAKE feature?
Modem = Baseband = Radio
Out of curiosity why would you flash this when you can get the version with the modem?
What's the advantage?
Thank you for your work.
Sent with my thumbs.
It would be useful if you did the OTA to get the modem, then installed a custom ROM and needed to go back to stock. Say your phone starts doing something odd, you can't take it in with a custom ROM on it, so you could use this to get back to stock faster than taking the DL09->EA28->ED01 route.

Exactly, cause how odd would it be for a phone to have a ED01 modem and DL09 system =D lol
so has there been any noticeable differences between ec01 and ed01?
Thanks for this; I already did the long stroll to get the ED01 Radio, and this will save me tons of time if "something goes wrong" or for the next ROM change.
is it possible to use re-partition option with this rom? or atlas PIT file?

I upgraded to super clean 2.9.2, but baseband shows up as DI01. is that normal, or did mine not update?
Only Odin/Heimdall will work. We don't know where the modem.bin goes, so we can't use redbend_ua or any other recovery-based method.
Modem(baseband) is not included in super clean. You need to update via odin pda button. DL09 and EB01 modems work well with the latest superclean.

oh...so do I just simply flash it through odin as pda? any prerequisites?
Here is a link to the EB01 Modem.
http://www.mediafire.com/?1r7uk6gf8d6s76z
You will need to use ODIN to install this.
Use the PDA button ONLY, navigate to the location of the modem file, click it, then run odin. Your phone will reboot and verify that you have the correct baseband.
If you do not know how to use odin I highly recommend reading this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948722
...thoroughly before starting with odin.
Good luck!
note* the link to the guide also contains information about flashing the EB01 modem and the same link I have published here!

As long as you use the PDA button and have used odin before you should be fine. Its very straight forward. Just D/L the modem from my link and your good to go!
after I flashed through odin, there seems to be a problem with the battery...?
charge level was 51% before I flashed, but after it showed up as 100% instantly. what's going on?
I don't know the actual cause, but I would assume it has something to do with the battery stats more or less.
You might try turning the phone off and leave it charge over night and in the morning wipe the battery stats (search for this there are plenty of threads! ). Then drain it before charging next time. You should see the battery return to normal.
I wouldn't be to worried about it as I have flashed my phone(stupidly I will admit) at any number of different percentages and I still am getting great battery life.

Since I jumped into the xda forums after eb01 had come out, I've been trying to find a DL09 modem to use with Odin. Seems like most people are going crazy for thew newer basebands, but I've heard that DL09 works great with both GPS and battery life.
That said, you don't happen to have a working DL09 download link that you could toss on here do you?

Thanks dude. btw, the only time i've flashed the modem before was when I first made the jump to eb01 a month and a half ago. Is it ok to just ODIN the modem, or do I have to re-flash a rom after I flash the modem?
*edit* well, I went ahead and odin'd the modem over top of all the stuff I've already got on there. <fingers crossed> Seems to work so far.

Oh yes. I *have* used ODIN several other times, especially for recovering from some sort of boot loop and a few other issues, so I'm very familiar with the PDA button by now. But probably good to have that warning there in case anybody else reads this for help later on.
Much like I did for ED01, I created a new Odin for the OTA ED03 update. Once again, this doesn't include the modem, just the base system, kernel, and recovery. It will also perform a factory reset, and is currently Odin only, I'll create a CWM flashable package at some point as well. Enjoy. This should be fully stock unrooted as I was only temp-rooted when I created the image.

Umm, if it fails verification in Odin, it doesn't flash. How is allowing Odin to check it harder than checking it manually that you wouldn't just allow Odin to work as it is designed to do?

I'm very often in places with no connection of any kind whatsoever, its also when I'm between time waiting and had the time for things like odin.
If the file is corrupted, then I would have to abort and wait for the next unknown available free time period to repeat all over again.
I don't see any files on the forums to attain the ED03 modem
Odin has a built in MD5, and created the file to support it. If you don't have a connection or time to flash via Odin, how is having the checksum going to help you? No connection and the checksum is bad, you can't download the file again. No time for Odin, and you probably don't have time to generate and verify a checksum because in the time that it'd take you to verify it, you'd be part way through flashing in Odin.

yeah assuming you're using the stock ROM, Samsung's bootloader likes to revert any modifications you make to the system upon reboot. i've found this out through my own research.
the solution is to flash the gingerbread bootloader, which is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/72206619/GBBootloaders.tar
flash this through Odin in the PDA section.
you might want to reflash the CWM that you used along with the superuser zip too. just in case those don't work.

★ [N900V] [KitKat] [NC2 Firmware/Bootloader] [NC4 Modem/Recovery] [Boot Loop Fix] ★
This is a part of JasmineROM. It fixes the boot loop issue when entering (rebooting to) recovery on NC2 and upgrades the modem and recovery to NC4. Sure, by flashing this file in Odin, you can still roll back to Jelly Bean MJE with all the benefits of the leaked NC2 kernel.
An updated/unified version & instructions can be found here!

I confirm that this works better than the NC2 modem––for me. The firmware file provided by @BeansTown106 doesn't include NC2 recovery, and that's why entering recovery fails resulting in a boot loop. You can fix the boot loop issue by just flashing the NC2 recovery. However, the linked file here includes upgraded NC4 recovery and modem together with the NC2 firmware/bootloader.
The only issue I had when flashing the NC4 modem is incorrect lockscreen PIN code. So, you may need to set the lockscreen to "swipe" before flashing and change it later. At any time, you can roll back to the NC2 package by flashing @BeansTown106 firmware file. You can also roll back to JB MJE if you wish––or for root/disaster recovery.
Anyway, I tried this several times before posting. I'm a developer in another field, but I wanted to say thanks to the great XDA community by posting something useful (it's my 1st post).

Yes, but... The (new) recovery fixes the boot loop problem when accidentally rebooting to recovery from advanced power menu (for example). The NC2 firmware also gives the option of recovering from other boot loop problems. So, yes, its NC2 firmware/bootloader + NC4 modem + NC4 recovery in one file. You may not need it for now, if you've already flashed the new modem and NC2 recovery (not included in @BeansTown106 file), but it's still useful to have all of them in one small file that can be easily used for upgrading the modem and disaster recovery (e.g., rolling back to MJE for root before upgrading again to NC2).

I've also prepared files for rooted NC4 ROM + firmware, but I don't like to post them because NC4 bootloader is incremented. So, you can get fully rooted NC4 ROM, but at any major problem, you'll lose root and there's noway to roll back to MJE. Just flashing in Odin is enough, but it's recommended to unset any lockscreen security before flashing and wipe cache/dalvik then. Here's the recommended steps:
1. unset any lockscreen PIN/pattern
2. reboot to Download Mode
3. flash via Odin3
4. reboot to SafeStrap
5. wipe cache/dalvik
6. reboot to system
7. set your lockscreen security
This is recommended only if you installed Xposed modules and modified the lockscreen behaviour. Otherwise, just flash via Odin3!

Shouldn't erase any data. If you flash the full tar file, it'll wipe you. That's for flashing to stock. Just updating bootloader and modem shouldn't erase anything (unless you do something dumb).
New firmware (if you mean bootloader) really doesn't do much but some ROMs (mostly stock ones) make sure your bootloader is a certain version. We're on T-Mobile so there isn't much to worry about since their bootloaders are unlocked to begin with so far.
New modems usually incorporate fixes and what not, but it's really YMMV. I usually go with the latest and if it seems worse I would just go back. I've never had to do this before though. I either don't notice much change at all, or at least know it's not going backwards. As far as my experiences with T-Mo HTC HD2 on AT&T, AT&T S3, and T-Mo S5. =)
BTW, I'm on AT&T LTE with G900T.
And thanks OP. =)

But it will remove root (superuser still present but does not work) and it will replace your custom recovery with the stock recovery. Simple to get back root with CF Auto root, and you can either Odin a custom recovery or use something like TWRP Manager (root) to get back recovery.
Does anybody know what the improvements are over the NH5 Modem? I flashed, and everything is running great. The radio seems more "responsive" to tower hops, and latches faster. Seems more stable. Will update in a few days.

From what I read, it's more focused on improvements to sms/mms over wifi. Possibly some VoLTE improvements as well.
Firmware at 2MB? Looks more like just bootloader.
Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
What are the advantages to upgrading the bootloader if I'm rooted with a custom recovery? Are there any? I googled and couldn't find any answers.
Also, is there a bugfix/changelog for it?
Service reception is tied to the bootloader. Least was on the S4 , especially for data.
As far as change logs, Samsung never provides them.
But I can tell you it's probably a waste of bandwidth to download the entire firmware for this update and would just tar up the bootloaders and modems and supply those. There's zero changes to the kernel and most likely none to system

make sure you totally power it off then use the volume down and home then power button to go into download mode, don't use the power menu restart from it.
I know that from past experience.
hope this help.

@keysoh2 - Thanks or the Modem/Firmware.
Hi Guys,
I'm on NG3 still and would like to do some updates. Can I go directly to NK2, or do I need to do updates in sequence? Also, using Odin with the two files in the thread doesn't take away root, does it; I just want to make sure?

Hopefully a lot. NH5 sucked for me. NG4 was better. Was getting 60 down on NG4 and only 50 down on NH5.
We'll see.
