[Q] Which one of these two has better performance? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi lads,
I'd like to know something about those 2 GB ROMS floating around the XDA.This question might be addressed to those who have used GingerBread ROM.
Tell me guys witch one has better performance in games/multimedia - GB 2.3.2 by andy572 or mik_os ported CM7? Interested in Dungeon Defenders and in some other heavy performance stuff.

those are experimental, battery chomping, and most importantly, unstable..
try using void with the performance mods

Which supported and stable 2.3.x mod?

I'm currently using Gingerlol 1.5.
But this is no longer developed.
Now I'm looking for an active, stable 2.3.x mod without any bugs.
It should have low battery drain and I don't care very much about gaming performance.
When I browse the dev subforum I find either outdated mods or mods
which have serious bugs (like no fm-radio, broken cam/video, blackscreen bug, battery drain, etc).
Did I overlook something or are my wishes currently just not possible?
Any recommendations?

I'm using mik_os' CyanogenMod 7 port and it's workin well

The best rom for gaming is Blackbird RC2
mik-os rom still has a bit of lag, noticible in nfs shift, but blackbird has new kernel with no lag AT ALL
Use AGA Rom

did you even read the first post? the OP says he doesnt care much for gaming performance and does not want any bugs. blackbird has the following bugs: broken zoom, cannot recognize contacts on sim card, no autofocus
@sirob71, i also recommend miks cm7 port (specifically 6.5.8 which is more stable than 6.6.1)

Use OpenOptimus build 2.xxx by ciaox and with it use francos GB kernels or paulos vtouch kernel.
Amazing battery life and less cpu drain.
If ur looking for something in the intermediate i suggest going for phoenix/void/mik's cm7/aosp ROMs.
CyanogenMod has many technical features that other roms lack, but I must admit that the CyanogenMod Settings menu is very useful. There are multiple kernels which make the ROM completely stable. I'd also recommend a few tweaks (I've uploaded a flashable zip as well as a fixed zip GPS fix installer (version 3.0) that should now work on any recovery). Please note that the tweaks mount /system as rw on boot.
What you want is the good old void forever + fserve kernel
With those 2 you get the battery life with good performance as well, and you only have what you need in your room without all the crap people put in their custom rooms.
Seems that oxygen 2.3.7 port is what I'm looking for.
Will give it a try!

[Q] Best custom / stock rom for Stability + Battery endurance?

Hi guys ,
as you are well aware I'm new here, and have made an account on XDA so I can share my opinion and also read yours in hope of a solution.
Anyway I'm currently running an official 2.3.6 ROM on my Ace, and have gone through just about everything the Development section has to offer, from TheMyths' ICS to unofficial CM7 Kang builds, but I'm still looking for a perfect blend of stability, battery, lag free (smooth) ROM's.... And need help deciding.
So far I've noticed that the CM7 builds seem to have the best performance (benchmarked by Quadrant standard) and works fine, however I haven't had the time to observe the battery life...
Ultimately an ICS clone would be sick, I love the style, since CM looks fugly in my opinion.
Also would like to know what kind of tweaks you guys use for your Aces' to get a little extra juice from your batteries...
Thanks
Hm....You could try and use SGS2 rom from space caker,or gingercruzt or infinity, both from nims11

Try Gingercrutz rom by Nims11. The ROM is jet speed with cool looks. Battery backup is also very good.Got 1+ day

The battery life, as reported by many users including me, tends to be rather relatively miserable.

If you want a very convincing ICS look alike, I suggest you pick out a CM7 build and download AChep's ICS theme.

I'm using GadgetCheck's V8.5 Supercharger tweaks, plus Slaid's SlaidFASTMod V2.5 (not updating to his new LagFree scripts since I experience some odd UI lags here and there (ironically)).
If you really want to save on your batteries, try setting your governor to conservative or powersave (though powersave will lag your phone to the point of 1984) and don't overclock (flash a non-OC kernel, if you want).
And check out JuiceDefender. It'll turn off radio connections when the screen is off, and I saved around 165% worth of battery life with that app. The only downside is is that it ****s up with push notifications, and I need those for my IM and email.
EDIT:
I forgot, you asked for a specific ROM.
Well, I for stability and efficient battery consumption, I recommend you just stick with stock ROM (or something based on it), since it was compiled specifically for SGA hardware. My longest relationship with a stock ROM was fla.sh's fla.sh X2.3 ROM followed by sametpoyraz's Glsmt 2.1 (I know it says Glsmt 3.0, but a download link was never provided). Both of them are considered dead projects, but that doesn't mean that the ROMs aren't half bad!
Thanks [/QUOTE]
i've had problems flashing 2.3update of that rom, have you tried the rom?
I Am useing The Infinity Rom Final And Its Great With Performace And Good With Battery Life!
Bye And Salam.
Samsung Galaxy Ace [Rooted]
Infinity Rom Final RC2
Based On Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC0 ICS FINAL
Turboboast v8.5 And SlaidMOD v3
FrameWork Mod Active!
8 GB Class 10 Sd Card Ext
THAnk mE IF I HeLPED
For stability and speed, I hands down recommend ICS Final. The rom I'm using. As for battery life, you can have the best battery with ANY kind of rom. Just check out the thread on my signature ;D
Thanks for all the replies to my thread thus far... will definitely try that SetCPU... As far as Slaids scripts go however, I did once try that but found my device would have lag, that being screen tearing.

AOSP/AOKP graphics performance low?

I have switched from samsung LP7 rom to AOSP (F1 GNex) and then AOKP (hydrogen).
and I really love the overall UI smoothness on both, however I did notice that 3D graphics performance is not as good as in the samsung ics rom.
This is very noticeable (low frame rate lag) in games like Modern Combat 3 and ShadowGun..
Anybody knows the reason why?
Note: I did not underclock/undervolt the cpu or gpu
same issue here on all AOSP and AOKP roms i think there is real problem in GPU driver in Aosp OR screen refresh rate and until now not fixed i really hate the fps drops in games i feel like i have a **** device not sgs2
btw if u run antutu when it come in 3d graphic test(knight) in start of test the fps get stuck at 51 fps like 10-15 second then it goes up and in nena mark 2 when u look in the fps meter u can see the fps gose up an down like hell in all aosp roms and the test lag as hell the u will got 46 on sammy rom the test run so so smooth and the fps much better no fps drops and u will got between 52-54 fps
this issue is keeping me on sammy rom but i really like the Aosp and Aokp i really hope it will fix soon
Agreed.

idk there is many things to fix in Aosp roms and most impotent thing is the laggy 3d thing that issue keep away from cm or aokp roms but i really like them
u can ask codeworkx for fix but he will ignore u and i think he is busy with i9100G too as i read in cm thread
btw there is problem with ram too
in sammy rom i got more than 1070 points in aosp only 890 in quadrant i got more than 3200 in ram points in aosp 2000
so for now sammy rom is best in every thing performance-stability-for games - etc
in GB the Aosp roms was slightly better in every thing than sammy rom but idk what happened in ics it become the opposite or maybe sammy but some magic in there ics roms

maybe you can get driver sources from samsung so codeworkx can work on them
other wise you have to live with it
sadly samsung doesnt provide sources besides kernel
in fact no manufacturer does
which is the biggest drawback in aosp rom or phones like s2
but the advantages out weight the problems aosp ftw
what the hell the thread moved to Q&A thanks for mod now no one will see it
So it's a driver problem I assume ?
AOKP & CM9 roms are slow compare to AOSP & Sam roms. I usualy get 59.8 fps on antutu benchmark at knights where as on AOKP & CM9 roms it doesn't go beyond 54-56 fps. IMO try 4.0.3 roms instead of 4.0.4 ! You will feel the difference.
And one more thing try Siyah 3.0.0rc1 - 3.0.1. (Device gets quite hot but it gives you nice fps on HD games like MC3,Shadowgun, Asphalt 6).
I know AOKP & CM9 have lots of nice tweaks but they are not yet optimized & have some touch problems likr when you swipe left it goes right etc )

GAMING PERFORMANCE on CUSTOM ROMS @GAME FREAKS

Hey guys
This question is mainly aimed at gaming freaks who have also switched to custom roms.
Just wanna know how is the gaming performance (generally 3d games) on various roms like Resurrection remix, ics slim ,cm9, miui etc..
I saw in various threads that many 3d games lag more on such roms (at stock cpu/gpu settings)? Is it true? Coz if it is, then this is totally a deal buster for me..i was excited to flash RR but if games are lagging...there wont be any use of improved system performance lol on a custom rom
anyway guys do let me know the gaming problems with any of the popular roms..so i can make up my mind and finally flash a custom rom..
thanks

i am on latest version of ressurection remix and i fell no such problem.i use no tweaking like overclocking etc...{i hate all these things}}
Cm9/aokp I get the best graphics performance. I actually under clock my CPU for a longer battery life... and its just still as good if not better than stock.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Games like Dead trigger, NOVA 3, shadowgun, Modern Combat 3 - lots of framerate issues on ICS custom rom. I never had issues on GB and never stayed on samsung ICS long enough to find out what that was like. Mundane tasks showed that it sucked balls, so I seriously doubt that it would be any different with intensive tasks like gaming.
I'd venture a guess that CM9 kernel is probably better than the majority of ICS kernels. My experience is that it just works alot better in general - other kernels have a lot of bells and wistles but other than some cool novelty feature, really aren't very different from each other. CM9's kernel really stands out for me. I have however heard good things about Fluxi kernel. I made the switch but it was much worse unfortunately others may have a different experience though.
The lag spikes seem to be random aswell, so I have my doubts any overclocking would help. If it happened in sequences with big open fields and lots of enemies on screen I'd understand, but when you are in a small corrider with no-one around, I can't think of why it should do it then. Not to mention it was seemless on stock GB (actually Villian ROM 3.0 and Redpill kernel).
But I've got CM9 running exactly how I want it and its stock CM9 kernel is actually pretty good, the games are good to play on it, but you do get annoying lag spikes somewhat frequently.

ICS or JB good for games?

Hello guys, I wonder if there is any custom rom for Xperia Neo V, which run the games without any lag, or at least with minimum of lags.
sorry for bad english!

I haven't really tested much but as far as I know it goes like GB(Codename 9, X-GAMER) > JB(CM10, AOKP) > ICS
Imo ICS is the least optimised for gaming, but bear in mind that I haven't really done any real benchmarks so I might be wrong on this, someone should back me up first
of course GB i better for gaming but i dont have mush problem with ICS:good:
GB are the best for gaming man
u can try codename he's fast n
Stable
Of course GB because is lighter than ICS
For all the fools answers (not eveyone)
He asked ICS AND JELLY BEAN! NO GINGERBREAD.
I really dont know which one is fastest but bear in mind that JB needs more ram, and has many bugs.
it depends...
well of course it depends on what kind of games are you playing...as guys/girls said JB uses more ram and its still under development, but if you have nice tuned ics its definetely better...i sugest you to take a day off for your phone and just try roms...it cant hurt and you will find the rom that suits you best
gb, ics generates as many compatibility problems or close by themselves.
apart gives you more free RAM
there are many ICS custom roms that good for games

CM9 , i.e. ICS and Jelly sandwich are pretty good RAMwise, and therefore good for playing games.
Moreover if you want a lag free gaming, close all background running apps before running games, as 512 MB is never enough RAM for gaming.
check it out
