Anyway, as the apps name says, this allows you to control your Sony Ericsson and now all android phones too..
You can do backups, send messages and make phone calls on your pc, manage files, etc.. All this via WIFI, Bluetooth or USB Cable!
You can download by going to the official website.

i use this too on my k750i,n now its compatible for android's SonEr,absolutely for my lovely x8

so what does this actually do?

It's an application for windows that allows you to control and manage your phone..

The good memories... I've been using it since I got my w810i about 5 years ago.
I recommend it for every SE user (and any phone that has Android and it's recognized by the program). It made my life easier managing the things on my SE phones.

1 question,
can u connected ur x8 via wifi on it?
until now,i cant. only via USB n i dont understand to setting it...

First, you need to have your phone connected to wifi.. then your pc needs to be connected to the same router as the phone.. and don't forget to allow MyPhoneExplorer in firewall rules, only that way you will connect your phone via wifi..

thankz sir
but,confused :s
on notebook,i must setup a new connection or new router for my x8,right?
then search it in my phone until my notebook appears in list?
sorry,i'm too noob for wifi network

To connect the phone via wifi, you need to install the myphoneexplorer client app from the marker and run it every time you want to connect your X8 to MyPhoneEx. To connect it via usb, the client needs to run on the phone and debugging mode needs to be activated. Via bluetooth, I never tried, but should be the same.
And as LuisDias mentioned, when you connect via wifi you have to connect to the same router as the computer is connected.

Ad Hoc networks always gets your connection down, don't know way but when I use adhoc to connect my phone, the connection drops..
If you want to connect your phone to the pc without usingthe router, I advice you to use Connectify.. It allows you to create a wifi network, like your laptop was the router..
If you had any problem configuring that, send me a PM and will post a video on youtube to show you how to do it..

i have been using it since i got z530i.it's a great app.
Nice . . . ^ ^

The best thing about it, is it's "Sync with Outlook"-function! You can write messages, backup your calendar and contacts and all your apps.
It's really worth donating!

[Q] PS3 Tether with Vista?

I have done plenty of searching these forums and the internet for the answer to my problem and I can not find one. Hopefully someone will have some insight. Here is what is about to cause me to ram my head so hard into a rock wall that it releases a 10.0 earth quake on the Richter scale:
I live in the middle of no where (just moved) so I do not have access to a cable internet connection. I get cell service. I want to use my PS3 to play some online games. I should be able to give my PS3 internet through my phone (rooted or not).
I can't.
Here is my setup:
PC: Vista (I know, crap...blah, blah, blah...I hate it, but it functions for school)
Phone: Droid Eris, Rooted, FroShedYp-CM6.2-RC1-Desirec.
What I've done:
Started with the Rooted Wireless tether app that came with phone, set it up, PC picked it up, I could browse the internet, use Ventrillo, ect. I then connected the Ethernet cable to my PC from PS3. PC took a while to identify it and it kept re-identifying it. In my network settings I check the the "allow sharing, blah, blah, blah" for the wireless network. I go to my PS3 and test the wired connection. It fails!!!!
Well, crap! Now what? Oooo, I have a wired tether rooted app. Lets try that. So I hook up the wired tether and follow same process as above. Nothing. [email protected]!
Ok, so now hair is being pulled out of my head! The light turns on. I have EasyTether and that is supposed to do what I want (It better because I paid money for it, right?). I go to the website and follow their instructions.............still nothing!
Now it is time to use my good friend Google. I get on and find a YouTube video of some guy doing what I want but with a Windows 7 OS. AND IT WORKS! Awesome! He did everything I did; the only difference was Windows 7.
So, I now has an idea . I go grab my Grandpa's laptop that has Windows 7. I follow the steps like I saw in the video and are written everywhere. The closest I get now is getting an IP address for the PS3 and then the internet connection fails! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!
I do some more research online and run across a program (Conectify) that I am supposed to need now. Well, this doesn't help. I still don't have Windows 7 on MY PC which is where I need to run this new network out of!
Oh yea, and now my PC does not pick up my Rooted Wireless App......at ALL!
Please XDA, someone out there must be able to help!!!!!
Regards,
-Grimsblood
Did you use a cross-over cable? Ethernet connects asymmetrically, you need a certain cable that will in effect turn the ethernet in port on your computer into an ethernet out.
And also tell Windows Vista to share your internet connection (via the Ethernet cable).

How is this done? I mean is it the same as enabling the shared settings or did Microsoft hide this option in some deep dark corner?
The cable will specifically state that it is a crossover cable, since it won't do anyone any good who is using it for any other sort of network structure, also most cable you encounter will be standard. If it doesn't, compare the two ends, if the wires inside are identical, it's a straight through cable, if they are not it's crossover.

Also you can purchase adapters. Just search walmart for crossover cable, I'm sure other places have them too.

Don't see why it shouldn't work. I use Wireless Tether for Root all the time, with many different devices. Just the other day I used it so a guy on an Evo4G could watch YouTube... haha **** Sprint.
I just checked and do not have a crossover cable. I will have to get one and try again.

You are supposed to be able to do this wirelessly. I originally found out to do it wirelessly. It appears my problem is the cable from laptop to PS3.

Note that I'm creating these instructions using Windows 7 as an example. Under Vista it should be very similar though.
In your notification tray, right-click on the built-in Windows network notification icon and choose "Open Network and Sharing Center".
On the left side, choose "Change adapter settings". Right-click on the working network connection on your computer and choose "Properties".
Choose the "Sharing" tab. At this point, you should be able to click the link at the bottom of the Sharing tab that says "Using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)" to find out the rest of anything you might need to know if it doesn't seem self-explanatory from this point on.
I forget if Vista had any differences to these, but I don't think it was anything TOO major.
Also note that sometimes in the past ICS would not work reliably for me, and I was able to get around it and instead, at the step before I say to right-click on the working network connection, do this instead:
While holding down the Control (Ctrl) key on your keyboard, click on the source and destination network connections (your tethered Android network and your Local Area Connection). You can let go of the Control button then. Then right-click over either of those two you selected and choose "Bridge Connections".
Note that if your network configuration changes in the future, or you want to try ICS, you'll have to UN-bridge those connections. The way you do that is that after you bridge them, "Network Connections" will list one more network connection, the resultant "Network Bridge". Just delete this Network Bridge and they'll un-bridge.
Good luck!
i just use pdanet app...plug into computer....connect....go to neywork settings, share connection via usb or somethin...before turnin on ps3 i plug in the ethernet cable into the laptop....turn ps3 on..connect and works windows7 idk y it couldnt work wit vista no lag at all online too i also live in middle of npwhere with only satelite or usb cards from verizon n tmo they suck compared to my phone yet both suppose to have 3g speeds....
K3V
I would get your phone rooted (if not already) then do wireless tether for root users. It lets your phone become a wifi hotspot. If you get cell signal, you will be able to transmit wifi and hook up your PS to the wifi signal. Just make sure to keep your phone plugged in so it doesn't use up all the battery and you get disconnected.

[Q] USB Tether on atrix?

anyone know how to do this? was standard on my WM device..
+1 interested in this as well.
Have you tried http://code.google.com/p/android-wired-tether/ ?
Don't know if it works with this but give it a shot. Back up first...

Moved as not android development
A 'friend' has an Atrix that is rooted and has the APN fix that allows you to tether it via Wifi.. 'He' let me install this app (v1.4) on 'his' Atrix, seems to work fine. Prompts for root access to start and disable tethering. Also allows you to select the subnet used for the network connection.
My only concern would be does this show up as 'tethering' to ATT??

Prob not as it's just rerouting wifi traffic through the regular wap.cingular apn (as opposed to isp.cingular for tethering). As long as you don't have unusually high data usage, you should be able to slip under the wire.

I tried it. You have to modify the kernel to support RNDIS on the Atrix - which I'm not about to do, so...no go...wish I did have something like that though...I don't want something that requires a client-side app to interface....

You need to read the whole thread. Your phone needs to be rooted and usb debug mode has to be off. Once you have your phone connected to your computer via usb and you run the app, your computer should receive an ip address from the phone as if you're plugged in to a router (which your phone technically is). No need to set up a dial-up networking connection.

WIFI tether works on 3D

FYI tried Barnacle WIFI Tether from the market with the temp root n it works!
also confirming this version method as well
Thanks to wrxtc714 over at www.therootofallevo.com
After you have rooted your phone you can now install the latest wifi tether app
Source: http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
The copy that is on the google code site does not work
use the one wrxtc714 uploaded here
Download:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6786574/Wifitether.apk
Once you have the wifi-tether app installed
click on the icon to get the app running
(it will give you some errors but just ignore them)
Select
Menu
Settings
Change Device Profile
Scroll through the list and choose EVO 4G
you can now start tethering
You may need to start and stop the tethering a couple times and after that it will work fine

Can anyone else confirm that barnacle works ?
Got it working now, +1
any other wifi tether apps working besides barnacle?
I've only tried the old wifi tether... and it was no go. My nook will connect to adhoc, and laptop are cool with it. I use barnacle as it was, since wifi tether would never work in CM7 on the evo 4G for me

it doesn't just work. haus put this script together that'' give you temp root http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18734200/3DROOT-4.zip you have to have usb debugging enabled in your phone plugged into your pc and run the fr3vo bat file. more info in his thread here ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1135100&page=167
Google wifi tether did not work. I tried barnacle tether and itmworked great.

Thanks! I never had a problem with wifi tether on my EVO 4G, but it doesn't work on the 3D with the Fre3vo temp root. Barnacle is working fine for me. Tested it using 3g, as I have no 4g signal at my house.
anyone know when and if we'll have a wifi tether alternative besides barnacle? not all my devices see the ad-hoc network.. but they did on googles wifi tether on the OG Evo..?
barnacle wifi no go
no matter what i do i cant get barnacle wifi to work with my evo 3d,I've read the threads and done everything including switching my phone between usb tether charge only, disk only and so on...keeps sayin cannot connect.

Working (for me) BT Tethering

This is based on this post in the Galaxy Gear General forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48950150&postcount=2
I have a Sprint Galaxy S3, rooted stock MK3 with the hotspot mod flashed.
TS is running EnSec Patch & Imperium Operative Installer 20140221, option 2.
This is all from memory, but should be mostly accurate.
1) Enabled Xposed module and restart TS.
2) Installed HackConnectivityService.apk (found in referenced message). Enabled and TS restarted.
3) On phone, installed FoxFi (Sprint/AT&T only)
4) On TS, installed PdaNet(Tablet)
5) On phone, start FoxFi and run through configuation. Don't remember what I did here, but I don't think it was anything unusual.
6) On TS, go to Hack ConnectivityService app. Make sure the hack is activated and choose WiFi. Mobile may also work but I haven't played with that option too much.
7) Start PdaNet(Tablet). Choose configure. Start scanning.
8) Back on phone, Activate Bluetooth Mode. It ask if you want to be visible for 120 seconds. Choose Yes.
9) Back on TS, you should be able to pair with the phone's FoxFi. Click on bottom grey button. It may say Connect, but I can't tell because the screen is too small!
10) You should get a connected screen.
That's the general idea.
Without the Hack Connectivity Service in place, I could only browse the web. By choosing "WiFi" in enables Play Store access and GMail syncing, etc.
Other than the usual TS being unable to maintain a stable BT connection for any period of time, I have only found one other problem. GMail won't automatically sync for me over this connection. I can open GMail and manually check for new and it works fine. Maybe a Tasker script would help.
Thanks. Going to look into this and see if it can't be baked into a patch without the $8 FoxFi part.
I had an old PDANet license and yup, sure enough this method works. Though it disconnects pretty quickly. Maybe I can figure a tasker script to re-enable it...
the PDAnet app is too big for the screen and the connect button doesn't show for me.
Any ideas for fixes?
Dpi mod through xposed.

Unless you constantly push data (even then that sometimes fails) it drops. Same for the 5 or 6 other host/client apps I've tried so far.

This the max speed I'm getting on BT on the TS with 4G on my phone. So far web browsing and play store works with no disconnections.

@Bushrod I noticed you said two specific carriers with foxfi. I have Verizon so would this hack still work beck my foxfi works fine as hotspot for my phone which I dont want because of ts battery issues obviously.

Thanks, this works for me !! Now we need a tasker script to connect automatically, and disable/enable AP mode based on the tether status on the watch.
It works for me too !
A solution to tether through BT !
The cons are that the watch is very laggy when connected through pdanet/foxfi
Does this happen to you too ?
Does this work with ONLY per app ppi and FoxFi/PDANet in BT mode? If so, for how long before it drops the connection?
I use Dees_Troy's ROM for BT tethering now. I'm lucky to have a watch version that supports it!
I'm looking to see if they Omate got stable BT down to at least FoxFi/PDANet and nothing more.
It seems stable, but I did not use it too long, because the watch becomes very laggy when activated.
I got this working on my T'S last night after seeing Loki's post on G+.
Using PDANet+ on my phone and PDA Tablet on the TS. It will not allow Google services access to the internet but will allow other apps and general Web browsing.
Not sure how stable the connection is as I didn't test it for long and it did seem to chew though the battery quite quick.

Maloyo you have to use the hackconnectivity module for xposed framework you can find on xda for Google services to work

didn't u set any security on IP, mac on ur wifi router?
(I suggest first restart wifi router & then check its setting)
&
if router restarting not solve ur problem then try another wifi router and if ur phone connect and work properly then problem was with ur router if NOT so u need to check phone.
best way to understand it s hardware fault or not is to repair firmware of phone by PC companion.

have also a wifi issue.
first time ive noticed, i kept device loading during the night, plugged it off, then wanted to start wifi.
wasnt able to start it, wether thru shortcut, nor thru the directly switch on button in connections.
after i rebooted system, it was running again.today same happened again, but without loading,
after turning it maybe 5-10 on and off, i wasnt able to turn it on again,...after reboot, it worked fine again.
so far i havnt found a single hint or solution to fix this annoying issue.
thx in advance
Nope, rebooted the router, repaired the firmware on the Z2 still nothing

try using PC Companion to fix your device
(or flash a FTF with flashtool)
a few friends of mine had a WiFi issue and fixed it with Sony PC companion
(one of them still has heating issues but i think his heating issue is down to him, it seems his devices always do)

its a hardware fault.
Reasons:
your device could be faulty
Or the device does not suppor the wifi band of your country (common problems with Syria, india , Kenya, Some other countries i dont remember)

Hey guys,
Prob has been solved for me.
Unfortunately had to do a factory reset. Phone is literally 36 hours old lol
Settings under 'show advanced options': proxy none, ip address dhcp.
I have noticed wifi doesnt kick in though till after unlocking the phone and usually takes a few secs for the 4g (mobile data) to disconnect. Wifi HASNT needed to be manually turned on so far. Fingers crossed lol
Cheers.
Try in WiFi/Advanced to uncheck "Avoid poor connections" and "WiFi optimisation". Mine works ok but when I had "Avoid poor connection" checked I noticed that it didn't want to connect to WiFi even though I have a good connection at home.
I've got the same problem, phone is 1 day old and the wifi drops signal every few minutes. So far I've tried a restarting the router, factory resetting the phone, using a manual ip, unchecked optimise wifi and avoid poor signals. Its UK unlocked phone running 3 firmware.
Now debating whether to flash rhe UK ftf or return the phone to the shop?

If you have stamina mode on make sure that turn wifi & data off when screen goes off is unticked, it is ticked by default meaning every time the screen goes off it turns those features off & turns them back on when screen is unlocked. I make sure that is unticked & I haven't had any issues with wifi dropping.
Having the same issue with my newly purchased Z2, however only on my work network so far. WiFi connects, signal is great, but connectivity poor and it's taking an age to load websites/send emails/receive WhatsApp etc. It would be great if we could monitor this thread as more people get the phone.
Just performed a factory reset for the time and will test again when I reach the office in the morning.
Regards.
