Kenn-any chance u can work on one of the above for us bell users? Donations will be generous.

he has already agreed to do so based on the Telstar sbf that was released and can be used with Bell devices, he just needs some files dumped from the stock ROM that he should have within a couple days, then he can get to work doing this and it will be done once he's done his work

Hi guys
I have Atrix 4g from Bell Canada which rom should I used with it.
Thanks
There isn't one right now available right now unfortunately...
You can factory reset to get back to stock

the problem is that if ANYTHING goes wrong while developing the ROM, causing a soft brick (which can be done by loads of things, and is almost guaranteed to happen during development), there is no easy way (realistically no way at all), to recover from it. we have to wait until a retail .sbf gets leaked or released from bell before any real development using the system files can occur. Anyways, ROMs for the Atrix aren't really ROMs in the true sense of the words, merely heavy edits to the themes and cleaning up some bloatware.
In the meantime i recommend you go here, here, and here for now, those are the main things that can be done for Bell Atrix at the moment. make sure you read those threads thoroughly and understand what you're doing before you do it though.
Thanks guys
Is there any update about rom for Bell devices ?
There is a generic rom u can flash have a search around for it

Just purchased my 1st Android phone and am getting used to everything. Without sounding like a broken record and having spent some time on the forum, can I please be directed to or have answered how to root an Atrix 4.1.83 v2.2.2 without flashing back?
Does it make sense to wait for Gingerbread to come out or does it make sense to unlock the boot now?
Any input greatly appreciated.

Look for Gingerbreak in dev section to root.
I would unlock and flash Kenneth Penn's 4.5.91. The Moto release in SOAK will stop you flashing back if you want to.

If you wait and get an update from Motorola and you have your artix rooted on 2.2. How should one proceed? Does one just update and then re-root after that?
Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if I HAD to flash back in order to gain root. As much as I don't like the motoblur bloat, a few items are handy. Any ROMs to look at?

When I was running 1.83, I used a method from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138204
Check out the third post in that thread. You'll need ADB to get it done, but if you don't have ADB installed you may as well do that.
ROM-wise, I'm using CherryBlur, which is a modified version of the latest 2.3.4 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160649
And I think it's great. The original HKTW 2.3.4 beta leak had a lot of bugs, many of which have been corrected by community updates and hacks, but Kenneth's 2.3.4 seems to be pretty clean so far. As to whether it's worth waiting for the official release, well... I think it's worth modding your phone just for kicks, and to gain a better understanding of how it works.
Thanks Obscene! Now all I have to do is find the time. In theory; to get bothyour methods done - how long should I expect barring no issues?

Anyone from Northern Jersey interested in helping out do thus the right way, the first time?

What is the verdict on the 2.3.4 upgrade?
I am seeing people having problems. My phone is important to my business, so cannot risk bricking it.
I am not rooted or unlocked, so pretty much stock.
Suggestions?

I was rooted and on 2.2 froyo. For a while. Then switched over to gingerblur, and then saw that gingerbread ota was hitting so I flashed back to stock 1.8.3 and did the ota update. Point? You'll be fine, especially if yer stock now. Oh and also, the preinstall method discussed in dev thread DOES work well with 2.3.4

If your phone is stock, i.e. no mods at all, you will be fine. The OTA is designed to upgrade only on a stock phone running 4.1.83.
Upgraded three Atrix phones to 2.3.4, went fine on all three.
On my phone, it did mess up the icons on my home screens.

Hi there, i'm no expert in this, but i should imagine that if you made a nandroid backup of your stock rom before installing CM7, you should be ok to just restore that.
I have already installed cm7 buddy nd stupidly I didn't make a backup I understand that I can't completely restore it bck as bl will always be unlocked I just need the stock T-Mobile UK 2.2.2 rom

I can't be 100% sure about this, but seeing as you haven't installed an official 2.3.4 GB, you might be ok to flash the official stock 2.2 froyo t-mobile firmware. Head over to the super firmware thread and have a look there. As i've already said, I can't be 100% sure about this, hopefully someone with a lot more experience than me will chip in and give you the assurance you after, sorry i can't help you anymore my friend.

No problem my friend, if our official 2.3.4 GB update isn't here by next week i'm going down the same route as yourself, unlocking my BL and installing either CM7 or Alien. It seems that us in the UK get left behind when it comes to official software updates! !

Bump cmon people someone must know how I'm desperate here
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
I think the brick problem is when you flash a gingerbread sbf and try flashing a froyo sbf...but I've done the same as you. Except I backed up my original stock rom.

So im useing darkside 4.4 and I want to use webtop I've been trying to find a way to add webtop to the rom and from what I can tell its possible to do something called a fruit cake but the only one I could find is for at&t were I have a international ATRIX not sure what fruitcake to use or if their is even a fruitcake that will add webtop for international ATRIX
(I'm assuming you're on gingerbread?)
In the fruitcakes thread, there is a link for 2.3.4 (webtop only) that doesn't specifically say AT&T, so my guess is that it should work for you. I haven't flashed any of these fruitcakes, however. Anyone with more experience care to chime in?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1461168
i just flashed the 2.3.6 webtop fruitcake about three days ago and honestly it was pretty simple.
I will post links for you in a few.
However since your on international fo to the fruitcake thread and check there what webtop youre going to need okay u dont want to get the wrong one so read up but the link i left up there is a guide on how to install it.laters
Thank you both for the help will try and see what happens

If yr running darkside yr already running an ATT rom efectively as thats what its based on. It should work fine.
Also flashing webtop 2.3.6 works fine on DS which is based on 2.3.5.
thanks it did work for me I knew that DS is a AT&T but thought the web top might still give problems P.S.if you direct me to the thanks button I will click it lol
Edit: nvm I'm using app lol not use to being able to use app at school so I was able to thank you
