Should the Dalvik Just in Time compiler be activated or deactivated? I'm suing MiniCM Released by NobodyatAll. Some say it's better to have it off than on, but I dunno.
I have it on, everything works like a charm... just try both, and if you don't see any diffrence, toss a coin ;D

It's a Dalvik Just in Time Compiler.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just-in-time_compilation
It boosts the runtime performance, something something.
its better with jit off.... you also save a lot of battery
how do u turn it on/off ?

But why do come up JIT ... May simply not have enough memory and can be decrease dalvik.vm.heapsize = 24. When i do not root phone test this moment, with 24M work best.

Tired of the lack of possibility to turn off 'automatic light sensor', I have modified the original driver. The only difference is - I removed code that enables ALS.
Issues:
- sometimes screen wake ups with maximum backlight value and fades to desired value in seconds.
Manual installation:
- push ax8noals.ko to /system/lib/modules
- run the following command
Code:
insmod /system/lib/modules/ax8noals.ko
- set desired brightness.
Until you're sure that it works with your hardware, don't install it to hw_config.sh.
Make sure that module is inserted before lm3530 LMU configuration settings.
Code:
#insert new noALS module
insmod /system/lib/modules/ax8noals.ko
sleep 2
# lm3530 LMU configuration
dev=/sys/devices/platform/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0036
echo als_off > $dev/mode # add this line if system overrides your mode
Release history
v002:
- restored how original modes works:
- i2c, pwm, i2c_pwm: modes without als,
- als, pwm_als, i2c_pwm_als, i2_als: modes with als- added two new modes:
- als_off - disables als in ALS enabled modes,
- auto - enables als in ALS enabled modes.
v001: just recompiled original driver with ALS disabled
Note:
It uses code to remove original driver from doixanh X8Gesture module.

No one has managed to overvolt MSM7227 yet, I've googled about that already. So I doubt it's the kernel problem.

Overvolt can be used to make the phone more stabile at higher frequenses so if we whould have overvolt we whould probobly be able to overclock to 800MHz or more stabile. Undervolt can be used to save power and improve the battery.

That depends on how much you overvolt, your phone can get overheated without overvolt also but it is easier to overheat it with overvolt.
EDIT: Off topic, sorry.

Sometimes the phone starts responding as if i m running the ROM on some 300MHZ processor.. Full slow response!! After touching response comes after 3 seconds or so.. This problem i faced on many ROM's... Wat s it all about..?? I checked in SystemPanel app/ System tuner pro it shows CPU is 100%~99.9% thats all no coming down I need to reboot to solve it.. again it happens
Try task killer or ram scripts.
Try everything.. Now on Turbo v8.. No use ... Now rebooted phone again.. So apps hold the resource n doesn release
hey try ics final by jusada and overclock your phone.remember min and max values should be set to 844 mhz above 844 will brick ace....................and see the magic.
if above method dosenot worked try changing your baseband but 1st one will work
Which application is using 100%?

No it depends on Kernel!! We all hav same CPU.. But not same kernel!! Mine is not the OC problem.. U might be running unstable OC with tweaks i guess!!!!!! In winter u can run on OC bcoz due to cold the CPU doesn hot up much.. I overclocked upto 884Mhz. No use the resource moves upto 884 in System tuner.. Now using myth ICS no problem like that now

dude ketuts kernel everyone is using ketuts kernel for oc it dose not depend that much on temprature.every cpu is different.but yeah kernel can be improved...
That sounds like a naughty application is running and using your CPU resources. Look through ypur apps and remove any suspicious ord conspicuous apps.
Also remove apps you don't use often.

Hi everyone. I want start this topic to discute about some tweaks to do on cm7.

What you think about?

Hi..
I think that it would be important to report the battery duration, much of all.. It would be useful, IMO, to create a default test to make with our phone.. For example: XX min of wifi navigation, XX min with 3g only and same with 2g.. and going on by this way
I think that souch a test, once reached a lot of results, could be very useful for all of us and for CM7 programmers..
What do you think about???
Inviato dal mio GT-I5500 usando Tapatalk
I think you're right. But first we need to know why cm7 uses more battery, i don't thing developers can modify cm7, they are busy with Cyanogenmod9. So if we know why cm7 uses more battery, we can try to fix it. But who can tell that to us? Develovepers i think. Now i send a pm to ketut.
I think that can help we. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292200
I wait for a stable version. Realy interesting.
Anyway who can help we peales post here!!
Nobody can help??

I´m using ICS by jusada and LagFree V1 by slaidmod and my Ace runs like hell with an unbelieveable batterylife of 48h at normal usage (gaming, texting and calling, maybe take pictures). Never lags and never restarts (very stable).
Running the same setup and MT battery life is amazing. Ill easily make it through a whole day with above normal use.
I'm using the infinity rom and the battery lasts an average of 72 hours, but i'm not an usual user, a little foursquare, imo for chat, Some gmail reading, and thats it, no fancy gaming or heavy data usage
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
I'm using CM 7.2 RC0 and my battery can't handle more than 18 hours, I listen to music, play some videos, my 3G is always on because I need to use with my gmail, at home I use wifi and other things like browser, foursquare, netflix, whatsapp and sms. Wish I had a better battery life :/ I need to keep the USB cable always with me.
This is my battery usage screen.
Runnnig ICS final with SlainFastMod 2.5 and JuiceDefender.
I found that LagFree V1 script is draining battery faster than SLainFastMod 2.5.

I think u dint use ur phone much anyway... I see ur voice call duration is more than display!! Means u dint use the phone much.. The avg battery life of cm7 is around 11-12 hrs with mod usage with net and all.. To increase the battery life u need to replace the launcher, some apps... I replaced the apps and did some tweaks in build.prop.. Not much improvement, but still system was fast...

But honestly, you don't need so fast speed on this phone...

If the led turns white and the phone reboots, then the frequency is to high.
Highest I've seen was 1228 but not many chips can run that fast for long.
I stay at a stable 1190.
