ok, so i already had another user name here but i created another one so people would be allowed to know the next OTA update for the atrix...
"Lastly, this update will make some changes*** to your phone that will not allow the phone to be flashed back to previous versions. If you typically do that sort of thing, we wanted to let you know in advance. "
goodbye.
Thread closed due since this promotes violation of NDA set in place by Motorola for beta tests and communication.

We already know the Froyo-running LG Optimus One best-seller will be getting the Android Gingerbread update, but so far there was no telling when this might happen. Now, thanks to LG India we know that the update will most likely be happening in May
LG initially stated the Optimus One won't be upgraded to Android 2.3 because it doesn't meet the minimum requirements. However the company changed its mind shortly after that and promised us a Gingerbread update. It will come half a year later - somewhere by the end of May.
And just when we thought things are about to become crystal-clear LG posted another statement to confuse us. It seems the May thing is not confirmed and things might change.
We are hoping this second message has something to do with the LG legal department, who are afraid of the consequences if the company misses a promised release date.
Anyway, the most important thing here is LG is working on the Gingerbread update and it close to being completed.
thanks for the update... where did LG India mention a release in may???
Lucky Lucky , I called Singapore's LG Service Centre and they don't think it's possible for gingerbread to be updated.
But I'm being optimistic and I'm sure that Gingerbread update will happen.
it is confirmed in my country, as LG has publish an Ad with a promise that O1 is 'upgradeable' to Gingerbread.
thanks for posting old news. search before creating new thread in future.
also post the source of the news. in this case, gsm arena.

Gingerbread will be launching in July here in india
Can't wait for the offical upgrade...
What does this mean for people like me that have already installed 2.3.3 thru CM7 ????
It doesn't matter. As soon as we will have an official version, somebody will root it and create a flashable zip. So don't worry.
lets hope that the touchscreen bug is fixed otherwise the gingerbread update would be a waste
Does anyone have the Adresses for the Update Servers Motorola uses to push out OTA's ?
It would be really nice to be able to download the Update directly, as OTA will not work right now with the Software Version i'm using... or to take a look if the fastboot-files are available.
I frickin' had it with waiting for Motorola to get their butt in gear.
If the update is not somewhere available for download on Monday next week, i'm selling my Razr at the end of the Month and get myself a Samsung S2 or S3.

Ok, first things first. What update are you talking about? The .215? Second, there's an app called cheesecake that you can install that will check for any leaks/updates. There havent been any leaks since .215 as far as i know so why don't you just flash the .215 leak? Takes 10 minutes.
I want the frickin OTA that is supposedly being rolled out in the UK and in some non-english speaking countries.
The only download links for Cheesecake that I found where all dead, so I can forget this.
I'll just report my thread to the mods, and hope they close it down, obviously it's too much to hope for that Motorola will finally deliver.

This is the site Rogers uses to keep people updated on the release schedule for JB. It used to say Mid March for release, and yesterday it was updated to that. Stupid question, but what does that mean?

Samsung has to give the ROM to Rogers, so that they can molest it first by injecting it with bloatware before pushing it out to the devices.
I guess they kept on delaying the dates to Rogers to the point where they are fed up and don't want to give a date. Because it got changed many times.
In spite of the title, this looks like Jellybean talk. Prepare to be deleted, locked and\or moved to that JB only thread.
As stated please use the sticky thread
Thanks

Hello guys, i was reading few articles online stating that more company will get into the beta program of Android Q. Is there a chance that Huawei is part of them? Will it be possible to update with treble? Will it be possible to get it on Ota?
If you have any though on that or if you previously had a Huawei phone please comment below.
Coming from Oneplus 3 I don't know how this company work in term of software update so just wondering what will happen this year!
With it's bootloader unlock policy probably not very likely :/.
If you want the latest Android Betas as soon as they drop, get a Pixel. Otherwise, you're just going to have to wait. I doubt we'll see Q till the end of the year at the earliest.
I noticed mine rebooted without any notice, and I found out it has updated to July patch
Those have OnePlus updater can try to check for full ROM
I tried to look for the OTA in the usual place (/sdcard/.ota) but sadly it's not there. Any other possible location it could be hidden at?
The update is also out for NA unlocked version, just checked today and system settings is ready to update to "OxygenOS 11.0.2.0.DE17AA" which includes "July 2021 security patch" and "General improvements".
It says the total update size is 480MB, so I'm guessing it's just another partial update that we can't actually extract anything from.
Even so, I've been trying to find where the file is stored on my phone but I'm not having any luck. It's downloaded, waiting to install, but it isn't present anywhere. I even ran `find / -iname '*ota*' 2>/dev/null` to see if there's any files named "OTA" on the device that I can access, but I couldn't find any.
I'm guessing it's either well hidden, or in a place which requires root permissions to access.
Unfortunately, I rebooted my phone after it initially found the update, so I don't have the update url to download it, even if it is still just a partial update.
They're really not making it easy for us on this one
My question is since android is gpl why isn't it already released?
Now the whole OnePlus is in hot mess
Look at N10 and you know what the Hell is going on
Even R is out and you can grab full ROM from OnePlus updater, the official support still stuck on Q
Before the situation cleared out, I doubt I may get other OnePlus device even 9T

AOSP is GPL and open-source but it is up to the manufacturers when and if they want to release the Android builds for their devices to the public, let alone make the builds open-source.
I know that part, what I meant was most manufactures dump stuff rather quickly when it has gpl code in it due to various other manufactures getting pounded on by the gnu community. It may be an option for us to get at least something going if they don't release it.

True. It's quite odd for OnePlus to have not released the ROM and tools by now.
Yeah I can only speak in generalities as this is my first oneplus phone. Went with it because I had heard how great their community was for hacking the phones. Makes me a bit sad but worse case I'm not out much and for what it is, it's an OK cheap phone. I personally do hate it when people don't drop their gpl stuff though. I'm not Richard Stallman level open source but I do like and respect it for the opportunities it gives smart people to poke at stuff.
There was a post in one of the other threads where they quoted oneplus support as saying the ROM will be made available eventually. We just have to wait.
The N200 was released a month ago, so we'll get something Soon (TM)
- edit: I replied to the wrong thread. Please disregard -
I can't find an option for deleting the post on mobile, so I'm just editing it.
