[Boot Animation]Android Factory/BLUE/RED/YELLOW/ORANGE - sound FX- CWM - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

I really liked the boot animation tonecreationz ported to the Atrix. tonecreationz original thread HERE. So, I edited it up to match the overall blue theme I'm using now, which consists mainly of greyblur and some custom-colored icons I made.
Credit goes to tonecreationz and to those he place credit towards in his own thread. All I did was change the color from green to blue/red/yellow. itsonlym3 is responsible for the sound effect.
If anyone sees anything wrong with the animation or has any suggestions, speak up. In the slim chance that I can/know how to fix it, I'll do my best.
*disclaimer: as always I make no warranty with the linked CWM zip. if you soft brick your device, that's the risk you take. worked for me.

Change Log:
4/30:
-Added orange
4/28:
-Added Red and Yellow versions
-completely revamped animations for huge improvement in image quality. Should now be just as good as tonecreationsz' original green version.
-Added versions with sound (credit to itsonlym3)
The files linked below for download are NOT to be used with the leaked 4.5.91 Gingerbread 2.3.4 or anything newer than ATT's 1.8.3 firmware. The CWM zips are not compatible with the new version of Tenfars CWM for unlocked bootloaders (i think, i'm no dev)
If you want versions that are compatible with 4.5.91 Gingerbread 2.3.4, check out CaelanT's 2.3.4 boot animation thread found HERE.

I suppose that depends on what you want to do with it. If you want it to play with the boot animation it goes in /system/media
but to make it play you have to edit the desc.txt file that is inside the bootanimation.zip
go HERE for a general guide on how to do that.

uploaded red and yellow versions.

I really like the red looks like an evil android lol Thanks! What kind of sound did you use? You should use terminator music that would be awesome!

what sound is with them? also, if you have your media volume muted then reboot does the bootanim sound play no matter what? that's the only reason i wouldn't want it if there was no way to boot w/o sounds.

there's links to with and without sound.
plus, you could just pull the sound file out of the file and/or modify the desc.txt file.

yeah, i know i could do that
i guess i'll try it and see how loud it is, and what its like with/without sound.
thanks for the install sans-sound, save me some work

I believe the sound file will play no matter what your sound settings are in android.

Yeah, that's what I figured, that's kind of annoying....
Do you know if it will play through headphones if they're plugged in? Care to take a second to test? I would appreciate it.

does not play through headphones. only external speaker. I still don't understand though. If it's so annoying why not just use the no-sound version?
Or do you just want the ability to use or not use the sound depending on situation?

Your second guess is correct, the sound is cool and all, I just know that on occasion I want to restart where a noise would be inappropriate (ie. high school class) lol.

fair enough. looks like your only option to be sure your phone doesn't get snatched up by your instructors is to use the no sound version.

If you have root explorer, you can always try renaming the ogg files in /system/media/ to something different or better yet, move them out to a different location when you don't want sound...
then replace or rename when you do want sound...
I don't think there is a simpler solution other than just using the version without sound...

I'd like to request an orange version... something to match the tangerine theme by nottach. Using the blue version now and really like it, but it would be nice to stick with the theme.
Thanks in advance!

One suggestion for those using setcpu on this theme: set it to the Droid theme, which will match the Rom theme perfectly.

aosp or sense lockscreen is fine, just as long as its not blue.
also, which version of the thunderbolt are you planning to use, the original or the modded version found in the themes area? I tested both, and while I liked the modded one's animations better, it kept looping on me (not permanently, just looped the animation several times till it booted). I think it was something wrong with the framerate of the animation being off or something. anyway, just something I thought I might alert you to just in case.

[Boot Animation] Honeycomb Takeover!

Simple little boot animation inspired by olieebur's Honeycomb theme.
installation:
just copy over the bootanimation.zip under /system/media/ using root explorer, or something similar. Or run the included script in the .zip (Honeycomb Takeover.zip)
Video of First Takeover
This is my first bootanimation, if you have any requests for other Atrix bootanimations, post them
Original boot animation (boring):

Honeycomb Takeover:
(yay figured out how to .gif, scaled image quality though)
bootanimation.zip is the Default bootanimation to revert back
Honeycomb Takeover.zip is the Takeover (just extract and run bootanimation.bat, make sure USB -> debugging, and none are selected)
- run the .bat only for 1.2.6 and 1.5.2 it will not work for 1.5.6 and is untested on Bell Atrixes(?)
You guys should also check out HoneyGlow which will feature a modified version of the second Honeycomb Takeover bootanimation!
Awesome boot animation! Thanks!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. if you have any ideas please suggest them!
Thanks! It's a nice touch... definitely worth the minute it took to replace the file.
Love it, replaced my gingerblur with it. Thanks.
i really like it too but just a suggestion, maybe make another version where it has some more animations after the takeover, maybe like the hexagons vanishing after the takeover, or the blue colors of the hexagon pulsing red and blue for a bit and then steady blue something unique. I'm sure you could come up with something interesting based on that

Yea originally I had wanted the motorola logo to have a pulsing glow and have random hexagons appear and disappear, but I didn't want to put too much effort into something noone would like.
I will try to get a more feature rich version out sometime later this week.
Another idea: Since it's a "takeover", it would be cool if the moto logo could transition into a circle with the honeycomb bee or just the honeycomb bee alone or something like that.

First you need to root your phone
Then you need something where you can access "every folder" in your phone. I use Root Explorer; ask around for another cheaper alternative.
Using Root Explorer, access the system folder. make sure you're on the root folder
Then go to the Media folder.
the final path should be (/system/media)
Replace the bootanimation.zip folder in there with the new one.
If you get a read only error, click on the "mount R/W" button on top to give it permission to overwrite.
Good luck.
I like it +1

sorry about the wait, a lot of homework due tomorrow that needs to be started but since the basic framework of the design is laid out it shouldn't take me more than an hour or so to "animate" the design.

[BOOT ANIMATION] Nvidia Tegra HIGH QUALITY

I put together a nice little Tegra boot animation using Adobe Flash. It is exported as high as it can get, that is why it is 12mb and I cannot upload it to the XDA.
DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.mediafire.com/?3cz2o1x6131p87x
It plays at 20FPS to look a little nicer and it repeats the outer glow part. I can't remember who it was who requested this some time like a month ago, but I thought of it the other day and here it is. Enjoy

your PNG files need to be named as sequential numbers. i.e. 00001.PNG 00002.PNG etc. you can't have the "motorola nivida-xxx.png" filename type. use a program like batch file renamer to rename everything in sequence.

I think I was having the same problem at first.. Don't zip the folder containing the files up. Enter the file, then highlight all 3 files, right click, add to archive using your zip program, then set to "store" and name it bootanimation.zip. Should work after! Let me know if you have any problems with that. Looks good tho

he did do the 'store' option i think it's just his naming convention that it doesn't understand.

Ah, thanks. I had seen that one, I was hoping you had maybe found one that had just like an easy flashable .zip or something haha. Oh well, thanks!
By the way, anyone, does this mod happen to remove the stupid ATT name in notification bar? If not, that seems like a nice little feature to add.

This what you're looking for?
[MOD] Deodexed 1.8.3 Flashable .zip
Now for my stupid questions.... does this change ALL the icons or just the battery? In the image provided (I know, that one had the black bar and this one does not), it has ALL the icons changed to look like Gingerbread, is that essentially what this does as well?
The other question was asked already but wasn't answered - what boot animation does this use? Thanks in advance!
EDIT - guess I'll answer my own question, the last one at least.... I went with Nottach's Tangerine theme for my Atrix and the boot animation is a "cute" Android vs. Apple scene.... I would have preferred one more dirty or violent like the situation going on in my avatar for example! haha

Haha indeed that is what I was looking for! Not sure how I missed that. It doesn't look like it was linked to in the sticky thread for all Roms, guides, etc. so that's probably why. Thanks!
I have some problems with this mod where the menu changes color and I can't read it.. Look at the screens and you will understand...
any way to fix it?

[BOOT ANIMATION] GingerBread Anatomy

Here's a cool animation I was holding on to in case I did a GingerBread theme. But I don't think I will so...
Original art is by freeny, Superb job IMHO.
Just rename to bootanimation.zip and overwrite the one in your /system/media directory. Set permissions to match original.

Does it actually animate?
Edit: so it does. Can you create an animated gif with it and post that up? That should help kick this thread off.
Would you be kind enough to do one on a black background?
Agreed on black background but stellar non the less. Great work, thanks for sharing!

Sorry, without the original project file I can't do a black background. Can't simply key out the white because it would also remove the white that I want to keep. And it would be a hell of a job to roto each frame.

Aw man that sucks. This is sweet, but it's so bright white...
The animation goes well for the first turn, but when it comes back around to the front for the second time, it skips/freezes until full boot. Evo, Fresh 4.0.0.4 ROM.
I'd REALLY love for this to work right, as I've set the boot sound to Dethklok's "Go Forth and Die" (seriously, it's great with the Gingerguts), but I don't want it to look jank.
Thats really cool and it reminds of the garbage pail kids for some reason lol
recovery version:
ginger_skel
That is really good.
BTW, it is from here --> deviantart by freeny
I think I need to get a dv account to thank people there. So much good stuff is coming over from there.
hahaha nice1 bro
really cool!!
could someone help me installing this on an evo im running speedy shift port and theres no boot animation under the path listed.
edit: so 1st I placed it under /system/customize/resource and it still played the stock bootanimation w/ sound
2nd I moved the spc_bootanimation to my sd card and it played just the word "android" w/ no sound. Like Decks roms boot animation.
3rd I renamed it spc_bootanimation and it played yours but w/ the annoying stock sound fx and then it started stuttering and wouldnt rotate anymore. I dont know what else to try. Im gonna stop though before i break my phone lol.

I just downloaded a new bootanimation from UOT's kitchen and extracted the animation.
I went to /system/customize/resource/ and deletede the file bootanimation.zip.
The file is a "read only" so you need permission to delete it. I the copyed the new bootanimatio.zip to the same place and restarted - and i worked.
If you don't hav access right to the fil, perhaps you actualy didn't replace the file.
I am on a 2.3.4 rom for the Vibrant. Were do I place this so it works?

it's ok, I've already asked him a couple of months ago to publish it
have a look here
I'll add the credit later this evening.
This version is optimized for the atrix resolution at 540x960. I suggest editing the desc.txt to your resolution for other devices.
Boot Animation
Three (3) times I have put this into /system/media/ and then over written the previous animation when the pop up asked if I wanted to over write the existing file with that name. Three times it has not worked....Such a shame, I thought this animation really looked good :-( I now OFFICIALLY give up! LOL
Thanks any to the creator and to the poster
