Ringer Volume? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Idk, maybe it's just me, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to have, Silent, Vibrate, and Normal Ringer. I can have ringer+silent, or vibrate+ringer, but not all 3. Any input on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks
If it helps In stock 2.2, no root.

That feature was removed in 2.2. That has been the case since Froyo came out over a year ago. I think the way most people deal with it is by getting a widget that turns vibrate on and off.

Anyway to fix ringer ascending issue?

Basically when I get a call, my ringtone starts quietly, and quickly increases the volume to max. (max being whatever you set as your ring volume.)
Does this happen on all of our phones? This was not an issue with my G1 AFAIRemember.
Thanks guys!
Its not a bug, its a feature. However I do agree there needs to be toggle options for a lot of little things on this phone, ie: battery notifications.
So as of right now, no. We'll just have to hope Samsung throws a lot of changes into their Froyo update...
All Samsung phones at least 4 which I had this feature so don't worry !

How exactly is this an issue ???? this is the 3rd or 4th thread I seen about this feature.... please explain .,.,,.,.,.,
I did search before I posted, I just did not see any relevant threads.
This is an issue because I personally dislike having this "feature". It was not a problem on my G1, and almost every other phone that I've used has it as a ringer option.
I checked all the service menu's hoping to find something relevant, to no avail lol.
Here's hoping CM fixes this =)

It is, for the most part a Samsung Thing. On all of the older samsung phones, The Ringer speaker was also the Ear piece Speaker. As well as the Speaker phone speaker.
That was done so when you put the phone to your ear and say an incoming call beats your out going call (Happens to me sometimes) The ringer does not damage your hearing.
the only work around for this so far is just to edit the ringtone and insert a few seconds of silence (2-3) in the beginning and then have the ringtone play out normally
Thanks for the info guys. I will try adding a few seconds of extra sound to the front of my ringtones for now.
Maybe this will be fixed with a proper CyanMod lol
I guess that gets rid of the fade-in, but it makes even less sense than before. Not really a practical solution to anything (not trying to flame). You're just going from your ringtone fading in, to not even hearing your phone ring for a few seconds.
I mean unless you like the first 2 seconds of your ringtone THAT much.
That's an annoying feature regardless.

[Q] Internal speaker stopped working (twice)

Hello,
After one day of use under Android 2.2 internal speaker stopped working. Bluetooth handsfree, wired handsfree, outer speaker all of them work flawless. Backing to Factory settings did not help. I install Android 2.1 O2 and after week of use the same sh*t happened. I have heard about it from several forums and Dell community, but there were not any decision. Please, help!
I did everything to make it working and suddenly after two days of silence it came back to life without any special action from my side. Now I can't understand why and when it stops or works.
Today, 24 hours later, speaker stopped working again. Does anybody use the same Android 2.1 O2, kernel 2.6.29-perf, build 8105?
I have major problems ringing certain people where I hear them and they don't hear me... is that the same problem as you? Its driving me mad! If they call me, it seems fine though?? Same kernel/build.

Tina,
I have opposite problem. I can't hear people, they can hear me.
I found how to make it work. During the conversation through bluetooth handsfree turn off the handsfree and call transfer to internal speaker and voila! it works again. Guess it is software issue and next official Android 2.2 back it to normal.
Ah, well done for finding out what it was there are a few Bluetooth headphone fixes and similar apps in the market, I had problems on my xperia x10 1.6 and the apps sorted it. Maybe worth a look? As for my problem... I have no idea?

Stupid question: is there no accidental tapping on MUTE button while talk? My screen does not go off every time when I bring it to the ear. Cheeks can push the same as fingers. I mute the phone a couple times.

I think it must have been a bug in the dj_steves 1.1 & 1.2 rom... I've downgraded to O2 uk 2.1 8105 and it seems fine now bb21 using rebelsim but I doubt that makes a difference...

[Q] Why does my default ringtone play after the battery alert sound plays?HKTW 2.3.4

I'm updated to the 2.3.4 GB going around...one issue I've noticed is that when my battery gets to the 15% and then the 5% warning, it plays the alert sound, then my default ringtone plays and I can't silence it.
Anyone know what is going on or how to fix?
Thanks
Just rebooted for something unrelated and my ringtone played for no reason as soon as the phone booted to the home screen.

I know same here. I just ignored it. Lol

Mine does it too (I'm assuming everyone's do also). Even if I ignore the message it keeps going so gotta pull the battery or shut down.
If anyone has any ideas how to fix this please share some thoughts. I know we could just not drain the battery down to 15% to avoid it happening.
Haha the same thing happened to me last night, I didn't know what was going on. Had to plug it in to make it stop.
It is the lack of UI Tones

No thanks needed..
Does that fix the issue? I still get the low battery sound...but it plays my ringtone afterwards also.
I guess I'll have to install those sounds and see.

My vibrate is working on 35.1. It could possibly be a bad download or maybe your vibrate motor just wore out. ( it is one of the few moving parts in our phone)
You could try redownloading/ reflash and if that doesn't work, I would return to stock eh03 to see if it functions at all.

so i thought i was having that issue till i hit the call button, went into dialer settings and enabled vibrate from there. try it out
I honestly had sort of the dame issue twice. I would get a weak weird vibrate instead and when I reset the phone it was fine again. It us probably due to the age of the phones is my best guess.

Can't disable the screen unlock sound

Suddenly, starting a few hours ago, my phone began making the notification type sound whenever I unlock the phone and access the homescreen.
The option (screen lock sound) is disabled under 'sound' in settings. I presume this is the setting responsible?
Any ideas why it's started doing it?
I've tried activating and deactivating different sound settings, silent mode, airplane mode, restarting etc in order to re-boot the setting, but to no avail
Then use widgetlocker and configure in that app.

Nope, just tried it and it doesn't stop the sound as it's already set to off in widgetlocker. It uses a different source for the sound.

Normally it should be disabled under settings/sound/sound for lockscreen. Otherwise factory reset if it is such a problem for you.
I found out what it was. Thought I'd update the thread in case its searched.
It was the nfc notification sounding every time the phone was unlocked. Turn off nfc in settings and the sound disappears! Yay. Was driving me nuts.
Glad to hear you found out
