Root and market in Toshiba stock ROM? - Folio 100 General

Is it possible to have rights root and market using the last Toshiba ufficial ROM?
How?
Thanks

Hi, to gain root privileges use this application: SuperOneClick. It works for folio too.
About the google market itself, because toshiba did not licensed officially this android's build you cannot use it. If you try to force it you will not be able to use it because the folio has a different notation for the mac address.
I suggest to install a different rom than the stock rom.
First of all, update the stock rom to the latest version because it fixes a lot of issues (i.e. the crazy buttons): then follow this guide to setup FolioMod or FolioNotion: guide.
Btw, I'm quite satisfied with the rooted stock rom: I'm using alternate markets

Z4root works too.

Questions about rooting HTC Hero

I'm new to android phone, after reading lots of post about rooting, I've got a few questions to ask. I have 2.73.405.5 European ROM, as I know I'll have to downgrade to older version (1.76.405.1_R3) to get it rooted. I like HTC Sence UI pretty well. My major purposes to get it rooted is to get APP2SD, and some blue tooth and ad-hoc wifi features works.
- Is there any different between these 2 version?
- Can I update to later official version but still have root access?
- If not, which custom ROM keep all or at least the most from HTC's official ROM?
Thanks in advance!
First of all you don't have to downgrade, I have that same version ( I had to downgrade from a higher version) and root works fine with the flashrec method (see stickes in the forum).
Second, root doesn't give you APP2SD out of the box as I understand (not sure about it) you can however install custom mods that enable that feature and work with it, I recommend Modaco (the one I am using currently).
I don't think you can upgrade (as I had to downgrade), the rooting process uses a bug in the system that has been fixed and patch in later versions.
I have downgraded and I have not noticed any missing features or lack of support for something.

How can i root the 2.1 Stock Update and include App2sd?

I think the title clearly says what i need ^^ Since i cannot ask some dev's to make this i wanted to give it myself a try. But how can i do it?
First: I wanna know how to make the 2.1 stock update root
Second: I wanna know how to make the 2.1 stock rooted update Work with App2sd
Hopefully someone could prove me and others who are thinking about this with some tutorials
Regards

There is no way to root the stock ROM yet. Thus the app2sd cannot be applied as well. The easiest way would be to wait till a rooted version is released.
I'm also interested by the 2 point of your post.
To root your Phone you could use this Universal androot ( it work fine for My Hero G3 2.1 Official )

[Q] Help newbie

Hello there,
I recently changed from symbian to android.....Can some help me on how to apply themes in wildfire ...especially this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060333
Theming is very different in Android compared to Symbian. What you see there requires a Custom ROM with a Theme Chooser App inbuilt into it.
So, if you have a Custom ROM (Cyanogenmod 7 or Ginger Yoshi), then just install it, and choose via Theme Chooser.
Obviously, you will need root for it, which will not be possible via software if you are on Android 2.2.1
then if i update to 2.2 can i root?
No. Please read again. If you are 2.2 you can NOT root.
Until down to 2.1, most people stuck wit dis take time to read around, you'll find your
ok mine is 2.1 and am planning root it and use cyanogen mod...after doing this am gonna install the samsung touchwiz by rolle..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709763
will this provided touchwiz file work with wildfire without the need for rooting...?
if so ill updatet to 2.2 officially and install this launcher..plzz guide me
Its under the Nexus One Forum, so its unlikely it will work. There is some user who has developed TouchWiz for the Wildfire, and you can find it at the Wildfire Android Development Forum (Just use Search).
As for root, I don't know whether it will work without root or not, but, I would personally recommend you to not update to official 2.2.1 because you will lose the ability to root (Even if you do not intend to install Custom ROMs - At this point of time), and you will have to stick with the stock functionality, meaning you will not be able to change your mind later about installing root apps and Custom ROMs like Cyanogenmod.
Of course, if you are 101% convinced you will never require root and Custom ROMs, you are welcome to update to official 2.2.1
thanks alot for the advice ...i decided to root and install CM7 rom....can you provide me the link for the touchwiz file for wildfire...ill search for it too...
Good idea in not going for the official 2.2.1 update. It will atleast keep your options open for alternatives, even if CM7 doesn't suit you.
Anyway, here is Touchwiz for Wildfire.

Building Upgrade 2.3.7/3.0 ROM from ClockworkMod Recovery Android 2.3.3 Backup

Hi! I have an Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread HCL ME X1 Tablet. I successfully rooted it all manually by using ADB and installed "su" and superuser tools. I manually installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5 by using Terminal. Then I created ClockWorkMod Recovery 5 full backups. I have the factory reset ClockWorkMod Recovery backup of a fresh Stock which came from Carrier. Doesn't contains any defect. The Carrier/Company won't release any further upgrades, and is not giving any original stock ROM.
All I ask with due patience and respect, to guide me to manually build an Upgrade ROM from 2.3.3 to 2.3.7 or from 2.3.3 to 3.0 Honeycomb. I would certainly require original company device drivers and factory files from the the backup. I won't mind any type of comment. Can this new 2.3.7/3.0 upgrade ROM be built from the older 2.3.3 ROM, manually? Please guide me step by step. Tell me the tools, configuration, drivers, kernel, etc. If you need any other information, please ask and I will inform I won't use update.zip flashing, instead I would manually flash/copy the images via ClockWorkMod Recovery/ADB console. Hope my friends guide me.

2.3.3 to has barely any changes. And 3.0 was not open sourced until recently, it will be very hard to make your own ROM from this

It will be my first ever try, if 2.3.7 is easier to build as an upgrade to my 2.3.3 android, please let me learn the steps and knowledge to do it. Currently, I haven't found any information regarding how to manually build an upgrade from an older version Backup image files, to a brand new version. I could at least try with your guidance and then learn the things which will come handy in building 3.0 and 4.0 Android + ROMs.

[Q] Update Samsung i7500

Hallo to everyone.
I have Samsung i7500 and I want to update android version from 1.5 to 2.2,but I don't know how to do it and what I need to do that. Please, can someone help me where to find good tutorial and all what I need to update OS.
You will need to root your device, http://www.drakaz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=344
install recovery http://www.drakaz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=680
And choose the best rom for you .
And install it http://code.google.com/p/gaosp/wiki/PublicBeta
If you want froyo build use gaosp 2 beta 3.
If you want gingerbread use gingerbread nightly build.
Thanks
Thanks. Just installed it. (gingerbread)
It was a hassle though: SDCard wasn't accessible on Windows 7 machine. Worked on XP.
Now googling how to get my market to work.
