So this is my first time installing a rom to my TB. I have installed many roms on my DX but through clockwork.
First question will i need to flash the new radio through Hboot before or after the rom
Second question will i flash the rom through clockwork or from hboot?
I know how to flash via both methods so any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Ohh and I am rooted S-off already.

Radio through Hboot - Before OR After ROM. I did it before, and it worked fine - I've seen some do after, and it works too.
ROM - you can flash from Clockwork recovery, just like you did with your DX (other method is through Rom Manager, but since you're used to flashing through clockwork, I'd just do that (I came from a DX, too))
awesome thanks for the quick response. Hopefully the rom + radio combo will help with battery.

It should - I've been able to jump back to using the stock battery and get a full day's use out of the phone
FYI. There have been some issues with the radio included with Bamf1.5 causing random resets. If that ends up happening to you, Adrynalyne was kind enough to post up some different radios combos to try and avoid any reboot issues. I myself am running great on the radio that comes with Bamf 1.5, so just be ready for that. Switching and trying the different radios, you'll see, is pretty quick anyway, in case you need to.
yea i had upgraded my stock rooted rom to the newest cdma/lte combo from Adrynalyne and it started rebooting so i went back to the original radio cause I didnt feel like messing with it then. Ill have to grab all the combos before i shut my phone down as long as my 4g stays up long enough.
Thanks again for all your help up running Bamf remix 1.5 on the newest radio

Put it on sdcard, reboot to hboot and flash."
I flashed the rom just fine, however I'm confused on how to flash the new radio. The new radio zip file is on the SD card....how do I reboot to hboot? Flash it once I'm in hboot? Step by step instructions appreciated.

Power down, press power and volume down at the same time to get into Hboot. Install the PG zip.
Make sure PG05IMG.zip is on root of sdcard
Power Down
Hold Volume Down and Power button at same time.
hboot will come up and check for PG file
Press power up when asked to start update
Radio will flash
After flashed press power to reboot when it says so.
If you have Clockwork installed it might boot to recovery screen afterwards. If it does just hit the home button on reboot now.

Did you flash a Gingerbread radio? That is almost 99% of the time the issue. You can't run 2.0 on stock Froyo radio. If you need help I can help further pm me.
similar issue,
flashed this rom - [ROM][5.25.11] BAMF GingerREMIX v2.0 Beta #5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095280
Install went fine, but phone would not work and sim card not found. You mention gingerbread radio since froyo wont work. Its not listed in that post that a seperate flash is required. Had to reflash back to bamf 1.63 remix to get phone working.
Any help would be appreciated.

It mentions the GB RUU so that means you have to have it. Which btw it's known to brick your phone without warning.
The reason you did not have any data is because you were still using the froyo radio, to run any of the BAMF 2.0's you need the gingerbread radio.
grab the mr2 radio. that will work

This is what it recommends I do
Things to know:
•A FULL WIPE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
•This is a leaked GB RUU, it has bugs, all we can do is try our best to squash them! Flash at your own risk.
I thought the gingerbread radio was also included in the rom(my mistake). From a novice point of view. If I do a full wipe and then install bamf 2.0.
1. What method can be utlized to flash the gingerbread radio?
2. What is the correct gingerbread radio for bamf 2.0?
3. Is there a way to flash bamf 2.0 with the updated radio already included in the rom?
Thanks again in advance.
hey mojo they never found the cause of the few bricks so what you said was false and you flash the radio in hboot read the thread on rooting or the radios it tells you all you need to know how to flash it doesnot matter what order you flash the rom and radio just remember to delet the radio file from your sd card once you flashed it

Radios are seperate. They need to be flashed in the bootloader. Use the MR2 radio as the other radio bricks your phone.

No what you just said was false. Since they don't know where the bricking comes from, it's safe to say that its possibly from that radio. SOOOOOOOO use the MR2 radio instead.
there is no rom with the radio included, put the mr2 on your sd card rename it,reboot the phone and hold the down volume and power button until it brings you into the boot loader it will find the file and ask it u want to update hit the power button wait til its done and reboot

You need to go in to HBoot in order to flash the MR2. Recovery is seperate from HBoot. Turn phone off and turn on and then hold down vol button and power. That will get you in to HBoot. I hope that helps
always do research before flashing. always.
Is there an order I should do it?
Same for me bro. I upgraded from 1.7 to #6 and my radio is shot. I didn't see anywhere in the directions on flashing this. I'm new to this, do u guys mind linking me to this?

If you are on a GB ROM you need to.download the Mr2 GB radio and install it from hboot. To.get to hboot you boot phone while holding power and volume down. If file is named.right.and on root of SD card, hboot will ask u if u want to update. Let it run it will take a while. Don't interrupt until done and then boot phone.

Which RC of CM7?
What "few...different radios"?
Newest version of CM7 no longer supports MR1 and requires one of the following MR2 leak, MR2.5 leak, OTA MR2, or GB leak.
I flashed RC1.4. I've flashed the newest and the oldest on this post. It isn't very clear anywhere which Radio goes with the latest CM7 version.

Appreciate your help!
Is it possible that I'm not flashing the radio correctly? I'm putting the PG05IMG file on my SD, booting in recovery mode, letting it update, and then rebooting.
As far as I thought...this was the proper way to update the radio?

No. Radios are not installed via recovery.
Download one of these (either will work)...
OTA MR2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160346
GB Leak: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?1669-Radio-Leak-7-17-11-2.xx.xxx.x-Radio-New-Gingerbread-RUU
Place the zip of whichever you choose on the root of your sdcard and name it PG05IMG.zip
Boot to hboot (either manually by booting with Power+VolDwn from power-off then select Bootloader or select "Reboot" then "Bootloader" from the Power menu in CM7).
Follow the directions to flash it in bootloader.
Reboot when you are told to.
You should now have service.
Make sure to remove the zip from your sdcard after booting as a safety precaution.
It worked...appreciate the help!!

Some people seem to have better luck with certain radios. I personally have been getting the best signal strength and battery life with the official OTA MR2 radio. Some people have said they have better luck with one of the leaked radios. I would reccomend trying the official OTA MR2 radio first if you are on a ROM that supports it. The OP of the ROMs thread will say which radios are compatible and recommended.

Did you change/update your radios at all?
I am not sure of the software version. I tried going back to unrooted stock with RUU_Shooter_U_HTC_ARA_1.24.415.2_Radio_10.55.9020.00_10.13.9020.29_M_release_208706_signed and it gave me a version error.
I am running radio 0.97.10.0808 according to the relocked screen that I am getting while trying to restore to unlocked sprint stock.
And now I see the difference in radio and the version in the restore file.
Thanks for the assistance, my Epic Touch 4g has been so simple to tinker with, this thing is a pain in the rear.
The RUU you installed was for the GSM version of the phone, re-run the CDMA version. The GSM version is called Shooter_U whereas the sprint version is just called Shooter.
I'm guessing this would be a good place to start?
http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=4
I will try this one when I get home today. Hopefully I can get it back stock and then start over and get a functional custom ROM working.
The wife was not to happy I blew up her phone yesterday trying to update it, I am guessing she is not going to let me "fix" it again.
Yupp, install one of them, not sure which one will allow you to do the HTC unlock though.
I think I figured out what I did wrong in the first place. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I forgot that 1.5 S-ON can't just install the ROM from the standard recovery method like I can with my Epic Touch 4G. I think I need follow the "How to Flash Any ROM or Kernel You Want" instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239821. I just booted to recovery and tried to install the ROM. I didn't look at the link you posted. But with hboot 1.5 you can not write to the boot partition from recovery. In order to do this you need to extract the boot img from the ROM your gonna flash and fastboot flash boot boot.img then fastboot boot recovery.img will take you to recovery and flash ROM from there

You actually dont need to do both. If you just do a fastboot boot recovery.img it will give you complete access, including flashing the kernal. So after you type that command, it will load a the custom recovery and when you flash the rom, it will flash the kernel included with the rom as well. FYI you need to do a fastboot boot recovery.img each time you want to flash a kernel. If you arent changing kernals then you can just go into recovery as you normally would and flash a rom. If you want to flash a kernal without hooking up to a computer, then read into Flash Image GUI.

This is what I thought, The first one I tried was the newest version of ViperRom. I first tried to just flash over top of the existing rom with the hope I would not have to reset everything and make her start over with how she had it setup, I guess the newest version had a newer kernel. Hopefully I am able to get it back to a functional state this afternoon.

I believe that does have the anthrax kernel havent downloadedthe new version. However i know some people have been having problems with roms that are based off the new OTA if their phones still have the old firmware. Definatly flash teh kernel/boot via fastboot recovery that should take care of the problem.
Correction not anthrax.
I got everything back working yesterday, I guess doing it correct the first time will save me some headache. I just need to remeber to start recovery from windows instead of from the bootloader screen. Thanks for the assistance.
So Im S-off and wanted to see if Ive got all i need to updating my rezound to global status and installing a new Rom
1. Ive gotten the RUU from here http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
Rename to PH98IMG.zip and put into root of SD card run in bootloader
(Q)I hear ppl say run the ruu 2x is this when its the exe or if im flashing the PH98IMG.zip, once is enough.
After Flash, run once to let the upgrade settle in or can I power off and switch the the PH98IMG.zip to an Amonra file and flash.
2. Flash Amon ra from here http://neo.androidrevolutions.com/. Put in root of SD card and let it run in bootloader.
3. Run root in recovery.
4. Should i reset the phone again in rom and in bootloader to clean it once more and should i run scotts cleanwipe now or before this?
5. Lastly Flash Rom of choice.
If im missing any steps plz let me. thanks for helping the noob

I'm the kind of guy that typically does everything via the computer/exe, but as far as I understand flashing the PG98 from bootloader should only need to be done once (it will reboot and continue after it updates hboot). Could be wrong though.
I typically let the stock rom boot once before flashing recovery.
After flashing recovery, boot to it. Typically you don't need to flash a root because most ROMS will already have root built in, but I'd check the details of it to make sure. If it does, just boot into recovery, factory reset/wipe, and flash your rom. If not, you should still be able to flash ROM/root, all in one swipe without needing to boot.

Really? I'm pretty sure it's because the 4.** upgrade had a new HBOOT, so the first flash updates HBOOT, then the second flash updates everything else. Personally, I had to flash twice initially, but I need to RUU again after breaking a different ROM, and it only required one flash since HBOOT was already up to date.
Thanks for the help guys. Ran ruu 2x for good measure then factory reset n cleanwiped. Ran the new rom n I'm back in business. Only thing is where are the governor kernel controls usually at. I'm using slimkang w snuzzo 1.3 kernal. Do I need to install setcpu or system tuner?

You are correct the first run updates the hboot. Then the phone goes black for about twenty seconds. And it'll go back to bootloader and and finish the update.. but it is recommended by some to just run it twice to be sure there's no gb crap left behind..
