Q... No service on t- bolt trying to use bamf rom - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App

Did you flash a Gingerbread radio? That is almost 99% of the time the issue. You can't run 2.0 on stock Froyo radio. If you need help I can help further pm me.

similar issue,
flashed this rom - [ROM][5.25.11] BAMF GingerREMIX v2.0 Beta #5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095280
Install went fine, but phone would not work and sim card not found. You mention gingerbread radio since froyo wont work. Its not listed in that post that a seperate flash is required. Had to reflash back to bamf 1.63 remix to get phone working.
Any help would be appreciated.

It mentions the GB RUU so that means you have to have it. Which btw it's known to brick your phone without warning.

The reason you did not have any data is because you were still using the froyo radio, to run any of the BAMF 2.0's you need the gingerbread radio.

grab the mr2 radio. that will work

This is what it recommends I do
Things to know:
•A FULL WIPE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
•This is a leaked GB RUU, it has bugs, all we can do is try our best to squash them! Flash at your own risk.
I thought the gingerbread radio was also included in the rom(my mistake). From a novice point of view. If I do a full wipe and then install bamf 2.0.
1. What method can be utlized to flash the gingerbread radio?
2. What is the correct gingerbread radio for bamf 2.0?
3. Is there a way to flash bamf 2.0 with the updated radio already included in the rom?
Thanks again in advance.

hey mojo they never found the cause of the few bricks so what you said was false and you flash the radio in hboot read the thread on rooting or the radios it tells you all you need to know how to flash it doesnot matter what order you flash the rom and radio just remember to delet the radio file from your sd card once you flashed it

Radios are seperate. They need to be flashed in the bootloader. Use the MR2 radio as the other radio bricks your phone.

No what you just said was false. Since they don't know where the bricking comes from, it's safe to say that its possibly from that radio. SOOOOOOOO use the MR2 radio instead.

there is no rom with the radio included, put the mr2 on your sd card rename it,reboot the phone and hold the down volume and power button until it brings you into the boot loader it will find the file and ask it u want to update hit the power button wait til its done and reboot

volume down and power gets you the bootloader vol up starts the flash

I have downloaded the mr2 radio
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115714
Just want to confirm, once I follow the steps I had previously posted,
1. manually flash bamf 2.0 from recovery
2. go in to bootloader and flash m42 radio
I should be up and running? Minus any of the known bugs obviously...

yup but make sure before you flash anything you wipe data, cache, dalvik cache. After everything is done throw in a fix permissions just for good measure and you're good to go.

Im now up and running with bamf 2.0
Thanks

Thanks all . Bamf Rom running well now with service after Mr2 radio flashed

Radio through Hboot - Before OR After ROM. I did it before, and it worked fine - I've seen some do after, and it works too.
ROM - you can flash from Clockwork recovery, just like you did with your DX (other method is through Rom Manager, but since you're used to flashing through clockwork, I'd just do that (I came from a DX, too))
awesome thanks for the quick response. Hopefully the rom + radio combo will help with battery.

It should - I've been able to jump back to using the stock battery and get a full day's use out of the phone
FYI. There have been some issues with the radio included with Bamf1.5 causing random resets. If that ends up happening to you, Adrynalyne was kind enough to post up some different radios combos to try and avoid any reboot issues. I myself am running great on the radio that comes with Bamf 1.5, so just be ready for that. Switching and trying the different radios, you'll see, is pretty quick anyway, in case you need to.
yea i had upgraded my stock rooted rom to the newest cdma/lte combo from Adrynalyne and it started rebooting so i went back to the original radio cause I didnt feel like messing with it then. Ill have to grab all the combos before i shut my phone down as long as my 4g stays up long enough.
Thanks again for all your help up running Bamf remix 1.5 on the newest radio

"Please note, this release needs a new radio to complement it.
Put it on sdcard, reboot to hboot and flash."
I flashed the rom just fine, however I'm confused on how to flash the new radio. The new radio zip file is on the SD card....how do I reboot to hboot? Flash it once I'm in hboot? Step by step instructions appreciated.

Power down, press power and volume down at the same time to get into Hboot. Install the PG zip.
Make sure PG05IMG.zip is on root of sdcard
Power Down
Hold Volume Down and Power button at same time.
hboot will come up and check for PG file
Press power up when asked to start update
Radio will flash
After flashed press power to reboot when it says so.
If you have Clockwork installed it might boot to recovery screen afterwards. If it does just hit the home button on reboot now.

No Service after Flashing BAMF 2.1 & 1.13.605.7 radio)

Ok.. I have read through some other posts..
First thing I did was flash the new radio (#1 on "Obligatory Radio thread).. I used hboot after putting the file directly onto the root of my phone..
Then I downloaded 2.1 Bamf.. i preformed the flash in ROM manger.. After all went through I had no service..
I re-hbooted the radio, just for safe measures.. still no service... To make things worse i can''t acess my HD through my computer..
HELP PLEASE!!
I am getting an
"application sync service (in process com.fusonone.android.sync.service) is not responding
and a
HTC DM (in process com.htc.android.omadm.service) is not responding
The Gingerbread BAMF ROMs require the Gingerbread radio. You flashed a Froyo radio instead. Go back and grab the right radio.
I was under the impression the radio I flashed was a GB radio.. it was a link directly from the BAMF thread.. If i am mistaken I am extremly sorry for wasting your time..
What is a correct GB radio?
The newest GB radio can be found here. I'm not sure which version was in the Radio thread, but it was the last one listed.
Thanks..
Although, now when i flash that radio... same thing happens.. No service..
Do I need to do anything special? I am using Hboot to flash it..
I would re-flash the rom and then install the radio again or revert back to your old rom and radio and then redo it. I always flash roms from the clockwork mod recovery screen as I have had issues doing it with rom manager.
And there we goo.. Thank you both VERY MUCH!!
No problem glad i could help!

[Q] Little problem, making sure I do this right.

Hey Guys,
Currently I am running CM7 RC1.2 MR1, I attempted to upgrade to the CM7 RC1.3 MR2. When the install was finished, there was no radio. So I naturally went back to my back up of MR1.
From what I have found I believe I need to first flash the Radio, then Flash the Rom correct? Are their any steps I can do to insure that I don't boot loop or brick the phone?
Thanks,
Steve

You can flash the radio first, or after you install the ROM. I always flash the radio first. The radio is located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160346 if you want the latest Verizon OTA radio (MR2). Once you download the radio you want to check its MD5 to make sure there were no errors when you downloaded the radio. The MD5 for this radio is 97c195d733f61c6a699528747aff6892 using the program I've attached, you paste the MD5 and load the file into the program and it will tell you if they match. (Rename the attached file to md5.exe instead of md5.exe.zip and run it from your PC). If you flash an incomplete radio you could brick your phone. After you download the radio and check its md5 rename it to PG05IMG.zip and place it on the root of your Micro SD card. Restart your phone holding the bottom volume key down and hboot will ask if you want to install the zip, say yes. Once your radio is flashed boot to ClockworkMod recovery and install the new ROM. Remember to remove or rename the PG05IMG.zip on your Micro SD card after your done or next time you go into hboot it will want to install the radio again.
Awesome thanks. I kinda figured I had it right I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the md5 checker as well.

Awesome. It was smart of you to ask about flashing your radio. It's one of the few ways you can brick your phone if the file is not complete.

Radio Flashing help

I updated to Cyanogenmod 7 and had no service. I followed the instructions and flashed the stock radio. I've now flashed a few of the different radios but can't get my Thunderbolt to connect to VZW's network.
Anyone have any idea how I can get a connection?
Thanks!

Which RC of CM7?
What "few...different radios"?
Newest version of CM7 no longer supports MR1 and requires one of the following MR2 leak, MR2.5 leak, OTA MR2, or GB leak.
I flashed RC1.4. I've flashed the newest and the oldest on this post. It isn't very clear anywhere which Radio goes with the latest CM7 version.

Is there a link to a radio that will work?
Appreciate your help!
Is it possible that I'm not flashing the radio correctly? I'm putting the PG05IMG file on my SD, booting in recovery mode, letting it update, and then rebooting.
As far as I thought...this was the proper way to update the radio?

No. Radios are not installed via recovery.
Download one of these (either will work)...
OTA MR2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160346
GB Leak: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?1669-Radio-Leak-7-17-11-2.xx.xxx.x-Radio-New-Gingerbread-RUU
Place the zip of whichever you choose on the root of your sdcard and name it PG05IMG.zip
Boot to hboot (either manually by booting with Power+VolDwn from power-off then select Bootloader or select "Reboot" then "Bootloader" from the Power menu in CM7).
Follow the directions to flash it in bootloader.
Reboot when you are told to.
You should now have service.
Make sure to remove the zip from your sdcard after booting as a safety precaution.
It worked...appreciate the help!!

Some people seem to have better luck with certain radios. I personally have been getting the best signal strength and battery life with the official OTA MR2 radio. Some people have said they have better luck with one of the leaked radios. I would reccomend trying the official OTA MR2 radio first if you are on a ROM that supports it. The OP of the ROMs thread will say which radios are compatible and recommended.

Need help, bad radio using Vigor Deodex Stock 3.14 rom

Kernel 3.0.16---I hope this is all you guys need to help me diagnose this issue.
Anyway, I have a long day of flying ahead of me and it would really suck to have no phone. I have S- on and ClockworkMod.
A buddy of mine had previously rooted my Rezound and put (I believe Scott's rom) on it. I tried the Venom rom, bam, no radio. Switched to the Vigor Stock Deodex rom and same issue. No radio.
This seems like a quick fix, what do I need? All of the threads on radios say S-Off only.
Thanks guys.

To flash a radio, yes you need S-OFF.
It's better to use Amon-Ra recovery since ClockworkMod has given users a hard time.
If you have S-ON then the last radio flashed was with the last PH98IMG that was loaded onto the phone. So technically it's a rom issue.
Are you trying to flash an ICS ROM over a gingerbread radio? That could be your problem

I actually have a 4g signal now, I didn't do anything but reboot the phone again.
Now, I just realized that the phone will not read the SD card, nor will it handle phone calls - when a call comes in it will reboot, when making a call it will reboot.
I also believe that the radio is an ICS one. Any way to double check?
Are you saying I should S-Off now? Or is there a short time fix of something I can flash now? (will be at the airport soon and won't be able to flash anything)
Baseband is 0.95.00.118r, 0.95.00.1223r
Running Android 4.03
Another question, can I S-OFF without ADB?
