I refute your statement, good sir.
Well, as far as I believe the kingdom is probably a pre production model of the 3d.

It is stated as the PG86100 in the /system/customize/CID/default.xml, which is the model number for the HTC Shooter/Evo 3D. Hmm...interesting.
EDIT: Looks like there is an earlier version w/ 2.3.2 out in the world somewhere.

ro.product.model=PH44100
ro.aa.modelid=PH4410000
and a little further down...
ro.product.model=ADR6350
ro.board.platform=msm7x30
ro.product.ram = 768MB
The different model ids are strange in itself but, unless I'm losing it, the msm7x30 chipset is all wrong. The Evo 3D is also advertised as having 1GB of RAM.

Yeah and the ADR6350 is evidently the Inc2 http://androidevolutions.com/tag/htc-droid-incredible-2-adr6350/
Whats odd is that in that thread alone you see referenced 3 different model #'s.
1)PG86100 in the /system/customize/CID/default.xml that TMartin noted
Then from build prop that xHausx noted:
2)ro.product.model=ADR6350
3) ro.product.model=PH44100
Anyone seen stuff like that before?

I've noticed them use the wrong model in the config files but usually the build.prop is consistent.
Looks like it's definitively not the Evo 3D, but rather a slightly smaller phone with specs more like the Sensation: HTC Kingdom for Sprint fully exposed
Looks pretty nice, actually. I might actually consider getting it over the Evo 3D, depending on how both end up being priced.

Mainly I prefer the 4" size, plus I assume it will be significantly thinner and lighter without the extra camera (which I seriously doubt I'll use with any regularity once the novelty of the 3D wears off). True the the specs are lower, but really only just barely. It'll still be above the vast majority of other phones on the market. I actually originally planned to get the Nexus S 4G for that reason (smaller, lighter, but still with a nice big screen), but was disappointed with the flimsy, plasticky feel of the thing when I handled the T-mobile version, and decided to go with the Evo instead. The Kingdom looks to be basically what I wanted from the Nexus, but better-spec'd and with HTC's superior build quality and design.
That said, I may still end up going with the Evo anyway.

I would prefer this over the 3D. Sure, it's a nifty little gimmick...but...I know I won't get any mileage out of it. I don't have to use the 3D feature, I'm aware...I'd love to be blown away by it and love it, but, I doubt it.
...and I could give a **** about the 3mp difference on the camera, my crappy $99 point-n-shoot takes far better pictures by accident at its lowest MP setting than any phone camera yet...but mostly because the name Evo3D is so lame.
When people ask 'what kind of phone is that' I'm just going to say "Evo", cuz in the end most people are just going to follow that up with "one of those droids, right?" anyway...
EDIT: Besides, I'm sick of waiting... based on how this botched launch has gone we wouldn't see it until christmas anyway

What's wrong with a little positive?
Lol.... Kinda the reason why I posted the thread I did. Just wanted to make sure the devs here know I appreciate their work. They are the true backbones in the android world. Google had the idea first, but the devs over there unfortunately have to design it for everybody, not just us who like to tinker. So that's where communities like this one are so valuable, and why Linux/android was the best idea for smart phones since the smart phone was invented.... Everybody is happy.

Let me put it this way.
Virtually every single issue I had with this phone was software related, and with the 2.3.4 update from HTC, almost all of them are gone.
This phone is great and from a software standpoint, it's almost there too.
HTC EVO 3D 9/10 and easily the best phone I've owned to date.
But then again, so was the EVO 4G and Touch Pro2.
HTC EVO 4G 8/10
HTC Touch Pro2 9.5/10 (while it scored higher, this was due to how awesome HTC Sense and Windows Mobile 6.1 were for me at the time and its worldphone capability. There was nothing I couldn't do with that phone.)

My evo3d has been perfect from day 1.
I never had to do a return, and any issues that I did have, like crummy 3g, etc., were solved after a little reading on my part...(not by taking the phone back six times). Do I have a dead pixel? I don't think so, but if you held a magnifying glass to my phone and told me that I did, I wouldn't be surprised...(same thing goes for my screen possibly being tilted by one pixel as well). I seriously do not get it when I see complaints like that. I don't measure the pixels on a new TV, nor do I measure the carpet trim under the doors when I buy a new car, to make sure the "shag ratio" is correct.
So yeah, I'm still loving every bit (pun intended) of my Evo3d.

I would stick with the Evo 3D. Once you play some 3D games or watch some 3D movies, you will see that it's an awesome feature to have the 3D. If you want better performance and don't care about the 3D features, you can install an AOSP rom. I think the Evo 3D is some of the best hardware out there right now.

Try the EPIC 4G Touch forums as most people only have one phone, and most of the people who frequent the EVO 3D forums have the EVO 3D and not the EPIC.
Good luck to you! I actually just traded back to the EVO because of personal tastes phone-wise but the SGSII is very very nice! I loved It's camera and SAMOLED cannot be beat!

I've have both. Evo 3D is my choice. In fact I gave my SG S2 to my neice for Christmas. Evo 3D is nicer. Not as snappy but the hardware is real quality.
I recently picked up the Evo 3d, and my dad got the E4GT. I've played with both, and while I will say that out of the box the E4GT does feel much more snappy, the combination of the size, "premium" feel (build quality), ROM options, features, and just overall fun, the Evo 3d wins all day. Plus, I am not a huge fan of Touchwiz, and I love Sense, so it's a no brainer for me. Good luck with your decision!
The epic touch 4g is huge compared to the Evo 3D. I actually wish the 3D was closer in dimensions to the evo 4G. I prefer the wider device, vs taller. The ET4G is both wider, and taller than the 3D.
But to your trade question, you will probably need to pony up some $$ with the trade, as the ET4G has a higher resale value at this time.
@OP I am glad you stuck with the 3D. Here in Atlanta at the Sprint service center they are constantly having issues with the SGSII dropping calls, GPS issues, and random reboots. people have been coming in and trading for the E3D.
I recognize that this may not be across the board, but when Sprint's own techs all have E3Ds and say they wouldn't touch a SGSII, that is an indicator to me.

While my experience is just anecdotal, but my wife and I have the same issues as the ET4G users, and I have a Evo 3D, and she has a Evo 4G. It's completely tower related, for me though, because if I leave the tower covering my house, I have almost no issues. But at home (my work is also on the same tower), I don't receive calls, sometimes texts don't go through, sometimes have no data, dropped calls, and I get random reboots. I'm in the Atlanta area.

Unfortunately, all companies are like this now. I remember HTC had dust under the screen issues with the Hero. Issues with the covering on the buttons coming off. The Evo 4G had light leakage issues, stuck pixels, and the digitizer not attached firmly to the body of the phone (usually only one side was affected). But, it looks like HTC has spent more time on QC on their hardware lately, when I look at my 3D. Now, when we pick a phone, we must choose the one that looks to be the lesser of all evils.
That's pretty much what I did... gave mine to someone I know that wanted the 3D and just paid the $199 for the upgrade on their account and swapped it out. Honestly I hated that I even wasted my upgrade on the 3D after a while... I think I used the 3D features maybe a week or two before forgetting all about em. IMO, pretty much everything was an upgrade but it's all personal preferences. Had I not been having some medical issues right after I bought it I would've returned it though.
And to the person that says Samsung cares about quantity over quality, let's not sit here and act like HTC has done anything to improve the issues these phones have had since the Evo came out. You'd think by now they'd be able to make a phone without the massive light leakage at the bottom but they're yet to even try to fix it. And let's not forget the debacle with the touch pro where probably 1 out of every 3 of them had the keyboard to go dead. And I won't even start on the tons of problems we had with the Thunderbolts. All of these companies are about the money first, that doesn't mean they have to sacrifice anything. Hell no one is more about money than Apple but they still consistently have the best build quality out there.
And personally between the last HTC phones ive had, i've had more problems than i've had with the GS2. But hey, that's just me.

The Epic 4G is just too damn wide. I almost bought it before I held it. The Evo has great dimensions. Plus the low resolution will be annoying.
I have a Nexus S too and the resolution isn't great even on the 4" screen. It'll be awful on 4.5.

I agree this does make me feel better but since the 3d now has plenty of working ICS builds i'm starting to think i might not NEED my evo lte. Considering dumping the preorder. I don't see much difference between the two now that i have ICS. Any thoughts? LTE non nonexistent , NFC (at least where i'm at) is also non nonexistent.
I do like the slightly bigger battery, and krait seems power friendly.

I'm buying it, but only because it's the next big thing. I'll probably order it this weekend, and sell my EVO 3D next weekend with all of it's accessories to pay for it.
I like the larger battery. The processor is a huge upgrade. Sense 4.0 with ImageSense will definitely be useful (I have a daughter and I'm always taking pictures when we're out. Although, I just bought a $1000 DSLR, but I don't like dragging it everywhere with me). The fact that this model has an SD card slot, AND 16GB onboard is a big selling point for me as well. 4.7" screen gives me more viewing area (I'd get a note, but I don't think I could EVER get out of having HTC Sense).
Yeah i forgot about the camera that is another big plus. Something else i've always wondered was the B!tch Everyone has for the non removable battery. On my OG Evo i had 6 batteries i carried around with me all the time. I hated that. Why not just buy one of those recharge packs and if you need battery in a pinch use that. So many ppl i've seen are throwing this under the bus because of not being able to remove the battery.

Its permanent. There is also a temp custom clockwork recovery that they are using to flash ROMs. They have a couple guys who have S-off on their phones but its still a WIP to get the bootloader unlocked. Looks really good for EVO LTE owners so far.
I am still on the fence about getting it. Due for my last yearly upgrade on June 1, but with the ICS leaks and the impending official release, I think I will be good for at least a little while longer. This phone getting root would drive my decision a little further to one side or the other.
Another point I forgot to mention is ACTUALLY having a true Beats capable phone. Not kinda works/kinda doesn't.

I see your in London, is that correct? What is the shooter like over there on your network? I would think all this phone really ever needed was a decent 3g network and a dose of ics. I have been switching between myn's 2 roms (gb\ics) and meanrom and i think it still performs very well. If i had to switch i might lean towards samsung based on this article....http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/08/...s-iii-in-the-us-is-giving-samsung-a-backbone/
If you want lots of updates: Galaxy Nexus.

First off, don't blame HTC for updates, they already made it. Blame sprint. HTC gave them the ics update months ago.
And I say that you should get the one x. Because on Samsung, touchwiz is nice, but you end up missing sense afterwards.

He's on GSM; you can't blame sprint. HTC is slow to update on all carriers. Lack of updates aren't HTC's only problem though, their other problem is using ridiculously proprietary hardware (so AOSP based roms are basically impossible) and the fact that they lock down their bootloaders and give you a really crappy alternative unlock.
I've moved on to the galaxy nexus, and I'm never going to get another HTC phone again.

Totally disagree. The Evo 3d is not a piece of ****. 3D works fine. HTC is not to blame here. The phone is as good as it was when you bought it. No need to insult it and HTC and the EVO 3d community now. HTC doesn't owe you anything.
There are other phones out there that are faster, bigger screens and so on. You are welcome to move onto anyone one of them. Go for it.

Besides the fact that i'd be running two contracts at the same time? As my evo has still got around 19 months left on it.

Sounds like you got lots and lots of money. So, you need the best, biggest and baddest phone out there. Must be nice.
I bought this phone outright. Never had a contract. Just reload my sim card and I'm good to go. I love the EVO 3d. Finally got Turge's ICS rom running great on it.
I wish you well in whatever forums you end up in. Peace dude.

Don't move anywhere expecting a problem free experience.
But its up to you.
Honestly I say screw the usual suspects & buy the Asus Padphone & all the extras.
