[Q] how to root Optimus One p500 - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi, please tell me how to root LG Optimus One p500 step by step because I'm new in android systems, also after the phone is rooted what ROM do you recommend me to install .
thank you

Install z4root. It's pretty straight forward.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
You can also use SuperOneClick.
Here is a guide for doing everything from rooting through to custom ROM with lots of explanation.
http://powerdroid.info/

you can also use ginger break. for custom rom you can use cm7.

thanks for all, but neither one for me worked. can you tell me why?
and if it works what should I press during restart to get the root menu.
thanks

Thats impossible , with z4root it easy like pressing once on your screen.
If you have 2.2.2 you need Ginger Break not z4root.
More here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038338

Ofcourse its possible!

What's the software version on your phone? If its V10C/D/E then you may not be able to use Z4Root, SuperOne Click or even Ginger Break. You need to download the V10b software for your phone and then use the KDZ flasher to downgrade. Then you will be able to use any of the above rooting software.
Check out http://lgoptimusonep500.blogspot.com/ this guy has some good info and links on how to download the software, links for the KDZ flasher and instructions on how you go about it.
And you will have to go the the LG website and download the drivers for your phone. Install the drivers first, reboot your computer, disable your anti-virus, connect your phone. If will then install all the drivers. Next you start the KDZ flasher in compatibility mode (Windows XP SP2) and run with administrator privileges.
During the flashing process, you have to be patient and don't disconnect your phone and play with your pc. It is a delicate process and should be done carefully.

It's V10C software version

please provide me the link for the latest ROM for my phone which supports arabic and can be rooted .
thanks in advance

have the same phone with version V10 E and Ginger Break worked like charm!! Before downgrading the firmware at least give it a try to save the hassle
Peace Out!!

Use Market Enabler... pick "Trollafone Mobile" as the operator and you're done!!!
You'll see some other great apps available with that operator (like Trollamod Recovery and Trollanium Backup) LOL
n00b alert: (It's just a joke)

Use gingerbreak apply.
Its easy to use and has no issues.

- Flash custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15206279&postcount=4
- Flash a rooted ROM from recovery
Done

After faffing around forever with x4root on 2.2.3 I used Gingerbread and it worked first time.
You need ;
GingerBreak
and then
Titanium Backup ( from the marketplace)
HOWEVER
My advice is unless you are a propeller-head ( I am absolutely not ) and know your stuff backwards DO NOT ROOT YOUR PHONE.
I did it for the simple reason I HATE Facebook and Twitter and did not even want to see the logos and this was the only way to remove them apparently . I googled, watched a few videos on rooting and away i went. Stupid in hinsight.
I rooted my phone, removed them and a few others and then when the unit just suddenly froze up on me and would not hard reset etc. Simply kept getting error messages. Luckily LG here in Cambodia re-flashed the software.
I have now removed anything to do with that process and have a nice, clean, safe android that does not hang or freeze etc. ALBEIT WITH THoSE **** FB and TWIT ICONS !!
Rooting - JUST DON'T DO IT

So your problem was due to you uninstalling important apps excluding facebook and twitter...not directly because of rooting.

Well...yes...my problem had nothing to do with deleting FB and TWATTER and everything to do with deleting important apps
I liken it to having just learnt how to drive a car ( getting your first Android )
You cruise around a bit and enjoy it.
You start to use the gas pedal and that's kind of fun ( installing apps )
Then.....
Your new petrol-head mates tell you that using the turbo ( rooting your phone )
is the MOST fun you can have in one day
Then....
You hit the turbo
and
because you are an inexperienced driver and cannot handle the power you fishtail out of control and slam into the wall
Car then needs repairing.

[Q] 2.2.1 - complications on downgrade and root.

Phone: LG P500h - ANDROID v 2.2.1 buildnumber FRG83.
Country: Brazil
Anyway, what I know is that i have to downgrade it to 2.2 in order to be able to root. I've looked through a bunch of tutorials on a bunch of websites but there are a few questions i have about the process that isn't answered anywhere i've looked.
Apparently downgrading requires me to get a stock ROM from LG, there is a topic here for that but it does not have the right ROM for my country, i tried a couple codes but they all got me 404.
Can I just flash any standard ROM from, US maybe, will it work?
And if yes, how do I flash it? Apparently you can do that by booting into recovery mode, but to get there you need it to be rooted which I can't do.
I've read about KDZ and downloaded that but... it crashes a lot in my PC (whenever i try the Read Device) it gives me error and closes the program (windows program not responding dialog).
I'm afraid it might crash in the middle of it if i try flashing and that would brick my device.
Is there a simple way to flash a new ROM? Is that the first thing I have to do in order to get a custom ROM say Ubuntdroid? It says I need a new recovery... but for that I need to downgrade first? It's a lot to do... and I don't really get the order in which I should do it all in...
Can somebody post me a little "do this, then do that, then finally do that" so that I can understand it all finally?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for long post, was trying to be as informative as possible.
This shows what happens when I try reading the phone on KDZ... also a little part showing that I got my device to be recognized by windows...
also disabled the LGE modem on device manager, read that if I don't it'll get bricked.
Well it won't let me link the image so... just paste the name together.

1. Find a suitable v2.2 stock ROM for flashing (link)
2. Use KDZ to flash it (I am not aware of another tool capable of doing that). Try doing that on a PC running Windows XP (important - that's where you're stuck now and I guess you're using Windows 7).
3. Root your phone - search for "z4root" on Market, install it.
4. Install Custom recovery, which will replace your current (stock) recovery mode (link - you may need to create an account on another forum in order to download).
5. Using Custom recovery you can now install any custom ROM and create nandroid backups to restore your phone to a certain (working) state.
You will have to use KDZ again if you ever want to flash a stock ROM, also losing the custom recovery. But you will have no reason to do that, except if you need to take your phone to some warranty repairs.
Good luck!
NEW PROBLEM: About step 1... i finally found a way to get my country's rom, but... it's.. the same thats on my device right now, it says V10a_02 and thats the same on my phone (the kdz read phone tells me that) so... won't I just be flashing the same 2.2.1 again?
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500H/ABRABK/V10A_02/V10A_02.kdz <---- the rom the topic tells me to get.
How do I know what version of android is in that rom? and if i can't, can you link me to a rom that does?
I found one from another country that the guy said is 2.2... but... will it work if i flash that one? does it HAVE to be for my country? also my model is p500h (the h) is it different from the p500 (different as in flashing p500 without h roms on it will kill it?)
As for flashing it...
I think maybe a computer with win xp will do the trick for kdz.
i've found this post today:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944881
is it better to use that than kdz? theres no replies on topic saying "hey it worked" so i'm a little worried, but apart from a few errors it seems to work on my win 7....
i guess the reply would be "i only know kdz, do it with kdz" but i thought i might ask...
Indeed, I have not tried that method and therefore I can't recommend it. At least KDZ is successfully tested. If you are patient enough to wait for some replies either here or in that topic, you may find out if it works. I would recommend it only if you have no other choice, like if you're unable to try KDZ on an XP machine.
In the mean time, I remembered that a newer version of Custom recovery is available (v1.2) - here. But you still need to download a file and read the tutorial from that other forum I mentioned in the previous post.
what about the first part of the post? i think i might have added that after you replied i don't know... asking about the rom i found if it isn't the same i have on my phone. and asking if i can just add another country's one...

First backup your data, then download a factory ROM, it doesn't matter which version u download, what matters is the version. Make sure that it's 2.2 and not 2.2.1 or 2.2.2. Follow all the below steps without skippin any, no matter how simple or stupid they are.
Link for shipped ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479
Now download KDZ updater and uncompress it
http://www.4shared.com/file/UleS4dP3/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.html
Install msxml.msi from the uncompressed directory
Charge your battery to almost full state (I'm not sure, but it can be reason if phone doesn't start)
Turn phone off somehow (remove battery etc.)
Install drivers properly
Get rid of all usb drivers like Nokia, microsoft visual ++ run time environments
Install the LG drivers by selecting the update manager from the lg site
Disable LGE Virtual Modem. In your Windows operating system, go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Modems > Right click on LGE Virtual Modem and click Disable.
Press and keep pressed "Volume up"+"Return" and connect USB cable to phone
Yellow screen with text emergency mode should appeared
Shake the handset (I know, it sounds ... strange, but it helps for ones, so... why don't try it?) UPDATE: Read some quotes on bottom.
Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe (Has administrator).
Select Type : 3GQCT (I have one report that CDMA mod works too)
Select PhoneMode : DIAG (in case of fail try EMERGENCY, and as last chance use CS_EMERGENCY)
I Recommend do not switch phone off. There was some people, which done it and after they was not be able to turn it on again. If flashing failed, just select some another mode and try it again, again, try shake/connect disconnect, again, again....
In KDZ file : Choose the ROM file you downloaded in the first step
Press Launch software update
Shake the handset (I know, it sounds ... strange, but it helps for ones, so... why don't try it?) UPDATE: Read some quotes on bottom.
Now Root it via Z4root - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
Then install custom recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844483
Then download n flash any ROM of your choice, I wud sugget install Void or LOL.
Edit :- By the time I replied, many have already replied. Anyways you can check my reply too :-D
Mithun.
"it doesn't matter which version u download, what matters is the version."
does that mean it doesn't matter what country or operator the rom is for, as long as it is android version 2.2?
i have one from portugal (not my country) and that one is made for P500 mine is P500H... if that makes a difference i don't know, but i do know that rom is android 2.2. can i flash that one?
i also have one that i got from that topic following the instructions of putting my serial number, it linked me to a rom V10A_02... on KDZ when i try to read my device it says i have V10A_02 too. isn't that the same one i have now? with android 2.2.1? if it is it's very pointless to flash the same rom already in it.
any way to check?
because that is my last doubt ;p

As far as my knowledge goes, the LG P500h you have is the same phone as the P500, only branded for Telus. The hardware should be identical, therefore you may use any ROM designed for the P500 family.
The only thing you may miss if you install a ROM not customized for a Brasil (or South America) network operator is the internet acces point name, thus rendering your phone unable to acces the internet trough its data service connection, but only trough WiFi. Nevertheless, the phone's APN can be configured manually, all you need are the correct settings from your mobile operator and you're good to go.
Ok since you guys told me i can go ahead and flash any country ROM i just did and now my device burst into flames and then the flames consumed my apartment.
ok, not. it worked too well actually, i did the kdz procedure on my win 7 anyway, despite the errors when reading device info, and it took like, 1 minute, rebooted, took like 2 minutes on the android screen then it came back, with all my data still there... i thought it didn't do anything but... its now version 2.2
i tried z4root, worked ... got the superuser app and.... i'm happy ^^ thaaaanks!
anyway about the custom recovery thing..
i'm going to install the one in that post you gave me...
but i read something about the best one being clockwork something...
shouldn't i go ahead and install that one?
or can i do everything i need with this one you guys linked?

You can do anything you need with ThunderG. Now that version 1.2 supports backup and restore of ext4 partitons (a feature you don't need if you don't plan on installing a custom ROM... but you will, eventually ), it is complete.
Moreover, in ClockworkMod's first topic says: "This recovery will not allow you to flash every ZIP file". ThunderG does, if you choose to allow flashing of unsigned zip files. Sometimes this is useful.
Peeeeeerfect
Recovery installed, LOL ROM installed, all fast smooth and error-free.
no more screen touch lag, it's soooooo much faster now, overclocked, i have yet to test my emulators but i can only guess they're gonna be at least 150% better lol.
thank you all very much for taking the time to help me ^^
ONE LAST QUESTION: I PLAN ON BUYING A NEW SD CARD, JUST PLUG IT IN AND IT'LL FORMAT THEN CREATE THE NEEDED FILES THEN I INSTALL STUFF BACK ON IT, SIMPLE AS THAT?
Simple as that =D
Although there are some criteria with the sd card or you'll get unmounting problems.
Use a class 4 or higher card
format with fat32
I've never officially tried this method but its apparently supposed to help
allocation unit size: 64kb when you're formatting

[Q] Rooting my 2.3.3 optimus one to mik's crom

Hi, i am new in this forum so I may be like the noob you guys talked about in the first video, also i am not american so sorry for my english.
Yesterday i decided to play around with my phone, an optimus one with official rom froyo. I rooted it and then unrooted it because i realized that the official gingerbread room was out. After a few unsuccesful attempts of updating it from kdz (emergency mode, unplugged, took off battery, almost crying for my phone) when I turned it on it was okay, running gingerbread 2.3.3
I downloaded the rom from this website http://androidve.com/2011/05/como-instalar-software-original-en-lg-optimus-one-kdz-oficial-digitel-en-exclusiva/ and I thought everything was fine until the moment i realized that it wasn't what i expected. I wanted to install this rom because of a video I saw in youtube and i followed the link and it took me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354. I read the thread and some of its post and decided that i want that rom.
Now, i have gingerbread and i know it can be rooted in a way i dont know anything about, i want to learn it. But my question is... If i already have gingerbread, do i need to downgrade to froyo to install the cROM of mik? or can i do it directly from a rooted gingerbread? if it is possible, can you please guide me on how to do it or give me a tutorial? I already looked for them and actually found some of them but because of the incidente of the last day i am scared of trying this stuff alone and i would really aprreciate your advice.
Thank you. (Sorry for the essay :S)
There are already threads on how to do this. Also if you are to flash mik's rom then you have to flash old baseband since you have official gingy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142105
After rooting to install a custom rom download rom manager from the market, choose rom from sd card, then choose backup rom and wipe data and cache. Then flash all neccessary zips you need after install.

thanks for answering.
In adb (this means in cdm/total commander mentioned in Link 1 at "How to Use ADB"):
adb devices
adb shell
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
After that open SuperOneClick and root using pneuter. Reboot phone and update Superuser from Market.

Ill follow that, but where can i get superoneclick and pneuter?
I am guessing that to flash is to install, how do i do that? like an app from the sd?

Please help me
You need to flash new baseband patch here:
http://www.multiupload.com/R9CEDO2HS9
Put zip on sdcard then go to rom manager and select boot into recovery
In recovery select install zip from sdcard, select the baseband fix and choose yes to install.

Man almost everyone on this site is rooted.... im just to scared of bricking my phone!
I was scared too, but after a few near-brick experiences i decided to give it a try. I even decided to go back to gingerbread with root because i wasnt able to call and all that stuff, and i was really freaked out when i was looking for a way to go back because my questions was not completely answered and i felt insecure. So i decided to give up for a while and then i realized i had made a backup from my ''gingy'' with the rom manager, and i thought it would restore my data and all that stuff but it actually took me back to gingerbread which was a relief for me.
Now that infiniterisen gave me the answer to my signal/service issue, i might try to do it again, because even though i was really scared while checking that i had no service, my android looked really cool and was smooth as baby skin
I cannot tell you to try to root it because if something goes wrong you would be completely free to blame me and because i am also new to this scene, but it is really cool and i personally like to try new stuff (even though i may cry if my O1 gets bircked)

Help needed on putting custom rom on x10

As the title suggests my young son got a X10 mini not pro and i want to put a custom Rom onto it as he doesnt like the look or feel of this..
I have a Galaxy S which I put Roms onto ...if this involves the same stuff
Can someone point me in the right direction or a howtoon what to do to get started.
Thanks
Well.. start by rooting you will need SuperOneClick for that
Then you want busybox and recovery maybe, you will need Flashtool for that
If you want a Froyo (like MiniCM6) based rom, they will run on stock kernel, so it's just a matter of putting them on your sd card and flash with recovery
If you want a Gingerbread (MiniCM7) based rom, you will need a custom kernel (nAa 11), but you need to unlock the bootloader for that, which can be tricky, you need S1Tool for that, and heed the warnings about the simlock certificates. If you have a simlock-certificate that is not reported to be working, it will disable just about all radio-capability of the phone, (ie, GSM, 3G) and you end up with a little handheld gaming device at best.
Search through the developmentsection in this thread and you will find the tools mentioned Happy Romming
Thanks for replying but that link plus others with the superoneclick.rar contain virus or trojans even the z4root ones....

Hi,a virus is something that is used for harming a computer or a device, but can be used in order to perform some actions such as rooting.Just disable the antivirus for now.
Then, after the rooting is performed you can be helped by my thread.Make sure you click the THANKS button http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553036
Yeah, the exploit these programs use to gain root is seen as a virus by windows. Its fine if it wasn't I would have killed quite a few computers by now. And phones for that matter

[Q] LG Optimus Exceed (aka LG Lucid) VS840PP won't take a root

After scrounging, searching, hunting, and generally scrubbing every tree/rock/bush for answers, I have decided that it is time to post. As I am new to these forums, I sincerely appreciate any assistance in this matter. I have tried the only two methods that I can find to root my phone. the one by Bin4ry which is found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460. and another one from a different site that was for JB. I have made sure that both debugging is on as well as allowing installations of non-market applications. I have tried every single usb mode, that just on the off chance, mine was that one phone that wanted to seperate itself from society. Since my phone is running ICS 4.0.4 I should be using Bin4ry's version, but I get stopped by this

It says that It's done and that all is done, but I think that because the mounting permission was denied that it wasn't able to root the device. If I could get some assistance on this from someone with more experience, I'd appreciate it. Does anyone know how to fix/root this device? I don't know if this will make a difference or not but it says the software is VS840PP2

I wish someone would resolve this I see people all over the place bragging they have rooted their exceeds "showing proof" and no-one seems to give a crap that some people can't afford the most easily rooted phones and are forced to get the most workable less expensive phones. I have student loans and would have to pay a $400.00 deposit to be able to pay 150 dollars for a semi decent phone and my carrier won't allow me to use the phone I've had for a couple years that I rooted myself. I just want a viable answer to how do you root the exceed I know what I'm doing but I work for a living (making very little at that) and have a child to support so I can't devote a week to figuring it out and am frustrated that nobody seems to give a crap about anything but the new razr or the iphone (trendys).

Yep, I just rooted my VS840PP, seems you need to use the Lg Spectrum root, but since I'm new I can't post links, but you will need the driver file "LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.11.0.exe" and "LG_Spectrum_ICS.zip" (put these into a search engine)
Install Instructions
Download and unzip
Connect your phone to your PC
Make sure to have the LG USB drivers installed
Make sure to have debugging enabled
Make sure to have USB connectivity set to internet connection
Run the script for your OS (.bat for Windows, .sh for Linux)
Enjoy
I really did think it would make my phone not boot, but surprisingly it worked! EDIT 8-16-13 treat this phone like any other LG Lucid, which means you can go to CM 10 4.1 Jellybean on this phone.

Yeah one which is Android 4.1.2, the file is called "cm-10-20130424-UNOFFICIAL-vs840.zip", but you have to rollback to GB 2.3.6(due to locked ics bootloader), install root, CWM and finally install the CM 10 based LG Lucid beta rom. I see you edited your post and yes it is the standard LG Lucid Gingerbread downgrade method. The forum thread title is "[ROM][BETA] CyanogenMod 10 for the LG Lucid" and its on "androidforums.com" all info you need should be in that forum thread. I can tell you that Jellybean works very well on this phone, and I never want to go back to 4.0.4. :good: But of course there are some bugs, as it seems signal strength is lower, but I may have the wrong baseband for this phone.

You may have to install the baseband for the Exceed. I think in the CyanogenMod beta thread on AndroidForums there is a link but I'm not sure. Use ROM Manager to install CWM Recovery and then Flash CM10.

As long as you're rooted, search on the internet for "cwm installer for lucid" and follow the install instructions on gingerbread, then you want to flash the CWM touch recovery by searching for LGVS840_CWMT.zip and clicking on "CWM Touch Flashable Recovery for LG Lucid 4G - LG Cell Phones ..." Make sure you have the CWMT zip and LG Lucid CM 10.1 zip on your micro sd card. You then use rom manager to boot into recovery and flash the CWMT zip, then do a factory reset and clear caches and finally flash the LG Lucid CM 10.1 available on androidforums.

May I ask which firmware are you suppose to use to do a roll back? Can you just use the Lucid's firmware or does it have to be the Exceed firmware to work for the roll back?

It's the stock gingerbread for the LG Lucid and you look for the method to install with LG's tool and you will need the file "VS840ZV6_06.S6_06.P58014.R5.cab" and look for how to roll back to gingerbread on the lg lucid to find out how to roll it back.

Thanks a bunch, I thought it would be okay to do that but just wanted to make sure before doing it.
Hmm, after restoring successfully, for some reason I cant get the Wi-Fi to work. I tried both versions the V5 and V6 in the dropbox posted on android forum. Can root and everything but unable to access any internet without wifi. Kinda stuck without CWM. Any clues?
Edited: Whoops, Haha, a Factory Reset fixed it.
Edited: Blah after being able to install Rom Manager and installing CWM "Successful" I still get into CWM recovery.
Edited: CWM solved but now I get the "Cant Mount Sd" in CWM. Trided both "fat and "extFAT" and no go. Any Help?
Edited: Finally! Bad SD card! CM 10 up and running! Woot!

Glad to see you got CM 10 on this phone, since it runs pretty good, the only issue I had is the way it handles low signal areas, which is why I upgraded to the LG Spectrum plus I wanted Verizon 4G LTE.

I think I may have had the same issue and it turned out the root files didn't extract correctly the first time, so I deleted the root files and extracted them again and it worked. Of course I can't exactly remember it now, but its worth a try. EDIT: Wait no, it looks like root installed fine, are you on stock ICS or Gingerbread? As Gingerbread has special root tools that are different from ics, also make sure you have superSU installed and try the root checker from the playstore.
Will I be stuck in activation mode?

New to the community and was hoping this was a good place for a related question. I have an exceed and I rooted without problem yesterday. I believe my SD Maid app deleted some important files or something because I stopped receiving incoming calls and texts. Anyway, I soft bricked my phone a few times and got the "Long time no see" message. I thought I unrooted my phone so I tried doing a hard reset thinking I would possibly fix the problem. That made matters worse. My soft brick became the only thing I could see no matter how many times I pulled the battery out and rebooted I was stuck at that screen. After hours of trying to get my pc to recognize my phone/get my phone in download mode, I finally fixed it and rooted again. Problem is that when I went through the unbrick process and flashed the kdz file to my phone, it was then stuck in activate mode. It wasnt a big deal because I just played dumb with verizon and they fixed it in their system being that when trying to activate it didnt give me the option to activate on my same plan/number. A bit annoying but better than nothing. My question is when I roll back to gingerbread or flash CM10 will I be stuck in activation mode again? Sorry for the long post, just figured I would give the what and why before my question!

You mean the activation screen, that you can quite easily bypass, also once it is is active it doesn't need to be activated again. Here is how to bypass activation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WGKCdlnt1s

[Q] Unable to root LG E400 after update

Hi,
I updated my LG E400's firmware from 10J to 10L last with PC Sync. After upgrading the root was still intact. SuperUser still installed, though I had to install Lucky Patcher and had to select Patch to Android for the Android Market again. However, when I tapped About phone in Settings, there was an error and a force close. I looked up the LG firmware site and downloaded the 10L firmware and updated with KDZ updater. The problem started right after that.
I have not been able to root with any ninja script, doomlord script, superoneclick. I have tried reverting to an older firmware (the original version 10J cannot be downloaded) 10D or 10I I think, but got the same error while trying to root. Finally, I tried the "without computer" means of rooting like framaroot and Exynosabuse but none worked. So here I have a fine phone with the latest firmware but with all crap like the LG Keyboard and Google Search, Remote Talk, Play Book, Weather and stuff that I can't get rid off. Also, I can't install Link2SD to increase internal memory. Any suggestions??
Regards,
Sam

Do you have L3 I or L3 II ?
You may choose Firmware from LG Optimus Firmwares
And rebuild it.
______________________________________________
✚ BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
✜ Rooting voids the warranty of the device. However, you can restore the warranty by unrooting the device.
✚ The following procedure works on Windows based PCs only.
✚ You must have drivers for your device installed on your PC. You can get them from HERE
✚ ROOTING THE LG OPTIMUS L3 E400:
1. Download and place the Root Package archive on your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the archive to your Desktop.
3. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
4. Connect the device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Double-click on the run.bat file you extracted from the archive.
6. It should start rooting the device.
7. Once done, disconnect the device from your PC.
8. And you’re rooted now!

Ok..Update my friend..The tool that you had provided was already tried by me. I had LG drivers version 3.10 whereas your link gave me the LG drivers version 3.7. Anyway, I thought maybe a previous version of the drivers will work and uninstalled the updated drivers and installed your drivers. But I get the same error. My phone is getting detected fine by the computer. I think this is something more complex. Let me know if you know anything more than what is already out there from Rootlord, Ninja site, framastor, gingerbreak. Nothing has worked so far. I have even tried degrading the firmware version to 10D but even that did not work so I flashed the current version 10L again.

Sam.

Hi Azithro,
Oh, I've been so stupid. The answer was staring at my face. I have tried all the tools you have mentioned above (maybe not the last one) but finally I realized that the solution is much simpler than that. I simply ran the spectrum rooting software for LG E400 as Administrator in my Win 7 PC and the phone was rooted in 2 mins. After fighting for root from last Friday, the easy solution almost made me fall off my chair. Stay well bro and keep helping like you do.
