Hi all,
I was running 1.57, rooted, with Gingerblur and deodexed.
I wanted to upgrade to 1.83, so, from reading, I determined that the OTA update was a bad idea. I tracked down 1.83 SBF download, got a copy of sbf_flash (linux) and let 'er rip.
According to Settings->About Phone, I now have:
System version: Version.4.1.83.MB860.ATT.en.US
Android version: 2.2.2
Baseband version: N_01.77.07P
Motorola Webtop version: OSHWT_U1_4.257.30
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-0007-g527fe10
Build Number: OLYFR_U4_1.8.3
If I go to Settings->About Phone->Status, I see:
Mobile Network Type: HSDPA
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
And, I have no network connectivity, unless I connect to WiFi.
I guess I have several questions:
- Does any of the info listed above look wrong for a phone that's been updated to 1.83?
- Should my 'Mobile Network Type' be HSDPA or HSPA? I *do* have an 'H+' on the status line display.
- Does anyone have any idea or suggestion as to what I can here?
Thanks,
-Mark
you wrote the apn?

I have the same problem, did anyone figure out how to fix this? Same issue as OP

I had the same problem with my radio not updating properly (was stuck on .07P, instead if being updated to .15P). I had to download the 1.57 sbf & flash it to make it work again, then use the OTA 1.83 update. Things have been fine since. Others have had luck re-entering their APN, just giving it time, or changing locations (i.e., cell towers).
I used Tenfar's CWM Recovery to flash Gingerblur 3.1 and Gingerblur 3.5 so I too have N_01.77.07P. I don't use mobile data very much so I hadn't noticed.
If I connect to a Wi-Fi location with mobile data enabled it will say
Mobile Network Type: HSDPA
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
and with Wi-Fi turned off and mobile data still enabled I will get
Mobile Network Type: HSDPA
Mobile Network State: Connected
I have used mobile data off and on since 1.8.3
This weekend I will probably flash the 1.8.3 sbf mentioned in the previous post.
Its been probably a while since I installed Gingerblur 3.1 (2 weeks?) and I have had issues with the Amazon appstore. Perhaps the radio has been the root of my troubles with Gingerblur 3.x

I have erased my cache, dalvik cache, and data and flashed the latest stable ROM (6.3) using Clockwork Mod. After flashing my P500's 3G stopped working.
In Wireless & Networks -> Mobile networks, The button "Data enabled" is check-marked.
Does anyone know a method of getting my phone's 3G to work again?
btw I purchased this phone from Koodo Mobile in Canada.

I have used Mik's ROM. I won't say I lost 3G but yes I have seen that sometimes the cell will stay in 2G mode for some time even though 3G signals will be available.
Reboot resolves the issue most of the time.
well i had trouble with it before .. but u can force ur network to be in 3g only by notification settings wich can access via cyanogenmod settings... try it...
3g works on my O1.
I change the connection between 2g-2g/3g-3g from the notification bar.
I don't think that enabling data is relevant.
I've tried rebooting the phone, reflashing the ROM, taking out my battery and SIM card, enabling the power widget and forcing 3G with data enabed and no luck so far.
Whenever I open the browser it greets me with "No network connection: Browser cannot load this page because there is no Internet connection."
I would also like to state that the title for this thread is a bit of a misnomer as it's not only 3G since I can't receive data at all, even if I try and force 2G.
Would anyone have more advice?
Also just to clarify data was working under stock froyo.

Hi all,
I have an issue on my SGS2 when I flash some custom rom. I'm a big fan of Darkyrom and I only flash their stuff though
Since the first flash on my device my 3g doesn't get back online directly.. Nothing I do in the APN settings or on/off mobile data affect this issue. The only way I found to get the 3g back again is using the app APN Manager and.. the option turning off the APN makes my 3g working again. weird but hooray on gingerbread.
But on the new ICS roms, APN tools don't have access anymore to these settings. I tried backing up the apn-conf and copy paste from a root file manager without luck. But I don't have any idea what this "Turning off APN" from APN manager trigger to make my 3g working again.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Quick Question: Is 3G available on an unlocked/flashed Droid X2 using the MetroPCS network, and if so, what must I do to properly enable it (Currently not working, have a blue 1x with both arrows to the left, no 3G symbol displayed)?

If this question has been asked, I apologize in advance for not being able to find it... Yes, I did search on Google and throughout the forums, and was unable to locate a similar thread. If you link me a previous thread that you know of, I would be very grateful!
Thanks in advance for any/all response!
EDIT: Found 1 similar thread, but ONLY shows steps for HTC EVO. Anyone know of a thread, which is at least closely related to DX2's?

Any additional info is more than welcomed, and thanks for the advice.
Just restarted my phone, and now I have NO data connection. Stupid flashing roaming indicator triangle...lol
Try rebooting. Sometimes that means you need to active. Does *228 work? There are other codes you could use like 0228 or is it 5 digits. Google for it.
Rebooting 5 times worked.. Don't know why the first 4 times didn't do the trick. May have had to do with me deleting All Cache. Still have to look for Verizon steps to get 3G on Metro PCS though lol
Thanks for advice.
Try running my milestone port & in /etc there are a zillion apns config files. It may pick the right one on activation or you could hack one of those.
Goto /etc/ apns-conf.xml it is all set to activate on metro-pcs!!

Hi,
I have a Razr Maxx phone. During initial setup, I am able to set wifi parameters and connect to my adsl wireless modem. then when I try to continue the setup and connect to motorola site or whatever that is to accept the agreement and ... it just shows communicating with server... screen and then returns to set up wifi screen. I tried to reconnect many times, but no success. finally I skipped setup.
And it gets more interesting!
I can browse the internet with built in browser!
I can create a google account and it syncs OK. After creating google account I get the (blue-status) wifi indicator meaning that I have data connection to the Internet! OK, now I go back to system update or creating motocast ID, again same problem that happened during set up! communicating with server and again back to wifi set up options page!
I even factory reset, soft reset and recovery reset the phone. still no success!
Can anyone suggest a solution?
I googled the problem, and I came up with users mentioning the word "iptables". Could this problem be related to that? or is it any way to fix or restore it?

So, Iv'e been perusing these forums for a number of days now, and have successfully managed to transfer an old Verizon Droid Incredible 4G LTE over to T-Mobile's Family Mobile Service. I did run into some hiccups along the way, but I did manage to flash TWRP recovery, unlock the bootloader, and achieve S-OFF successfully. I also updated the firmware of the radio since I was not even able to connect to any mobile network previously.
The phone is running CM 10.2.1 fireball currently, and functions well if not for a few minor issues. However, I am unable to connect to the 3G service at all, and am forced to attempt to browse the internet at EDGE speeds. I made sure to turn all the location services on while the phone was running stock and connect to GPS as per the installation instructions. I searched around various other threads for methods others have tried, which helped me root the phone and install CM in the first place, but I still cannot fix this last issue. I have tried fiddling around with various mobile network settings for a while, but still cannot resolve the issue. Now the phone is unable to connect the the Internet successfully through Wi-Fi or Edge.
If anyone can offer me some guidance, or needs more information regarding my phone in order to help me properly, please let me know, it will be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE 4/16/14:
So I ended up restoring a stock recovery, after trying out various CM11 builds to no avail. I managed to find a baseband radio on a Chinese forum which allows me to connect to 3G, but was unsuccessful in finding any radios that would support the 1700/2100 bands required for T-Mobile 4g LTE speeds. I would be interested in learning how to port a compatible T-Mobile radio which supports the LTE bands, but my searching attempts have not been successful so far.
Current Specs on the phone:
Android Version: 2.17.605.2710RD
Baseband Version: 1.53.51.0528
S-Off
DirtyRacun's Hboot
Clockwork Touch Recovery (the latest version)
