[Q] Droid X2 on MetroPCS, No 3G? - Motorola Droid X2

Quick Question: Is 3G available on an unlocked/flashed Droid X2 using the MetroPCS network, and if so, what must I do to properly enable it (Currently not working, have a blue 1x with both arrows to the left, no 3G symbol displayed)?

If this question has been asked, I apologize in advance for not being able to find it... Yes, I did search on Google and throughout the forums, and was unable to locate a similar thread. If you link me a previous thread that you know of, I would be very grateful!
Thanks in advance for any/all response!
EDIT: Found 1 similar thread, but ONLY shows steps for HTC EVO. Anyone know of a thread, which is at least closely related to DX2's?

Any additional info is more than welcomed, and thanks for the advice.
Just restarted my phone, and now I have NO data connection. Stupid flashing roaming indicator triangle...lol

Try rebooting. Sometimes that means you need to active. Does *228 work? There are other codes you could use like 0228 or is it 5 digits. Google for it.

Rebooting 5 times worked.. Don't know why the first 4 times didn't do the trick. May have had to do with me deleting All Cache. Still have to look for Verizon steps to get 3G on Metro PCS though lol
Thanks for advice.

Try running my milestone port & in /etc there are a zillion apns config files. It may pick the right one on activation or you could hack one of those.

Goto /etc/ apns-conf.xml it is all set to activate on metro-pcs!!

ok this phone a brand new, i can receive calls and text but when i dial a number and try to make a call the phone restarts
This is factory unlocked and not rooted
Try flashing a newer radio rom.
I dont want to root it incase i cant get the original rom back.
It is weird as, i have tried with every sim card to make calls and it works but when i put the 3 sim in does plays up
We experienced the same issue on some Turkish networks as well and flashing a newer radio rom fixed the problem. Flashing roms and rooting are totally different. What you need is a newer version of your current baseband ( radio rom ) sbf and official motorola software flasher " RSD Lite 5.3 "
Hope it helps.
Thank you so much for that Semseddin.
My problem solved, i just flashed it using RSD lite 4.9
Thanks everyone
Hi. I've been having the exact same issue. I've got an unlocked AT&T Atrix and I'm trying to use a Three UK sim (I'm in the UK). I'm a bit new to the world of android, can someone post a link to an appropriate Radio Rom?
Thanks for any help!!
OK after a little more web searching I've found a (sort of) solution -
"Here's a quick fix for it thou, (not permanent)....
1. type *#*#4636#*#* on the dialer
2. Chose Phone Information
3. Set preferred network to GSM only
Viola...its fixed
problem with this fix is that you wont be able to use your 3G network but the dialer should be working."
Problem is of course that you can't use your 3G connection. Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

Why is it always 3 that cause a problem?
When the Nokia N900 came out, that wouldn't work with 3 initially until a couple of updates later!

[Q] CSpire Motorola Milestone X2

So, I have scoured the forums and have not yet found a solution to my current problem.
I was able to originally root my phone using the moto-fastboot method that has been posted on these threads several times to root my phone. Upon rooting I installed some standard applications to remove bloatware and toy with some of the hardware settings. I worked great. I got a little bit too confident and decided to put a custom rom on it without properly backing up(I thought I did).
So I got stuck into bootloop. Upon searching your extremely handy and helpful forums I found a way to install a new sbf and unbrick my phone using RSD lite. The operating system in now working, but it will not make or receive phone calls or data.
Possibly pertinent information:
System version: 45.0.43.MB867.ACG-nTelos.en.US (this is probably way off)
Model: Milestone X2
Android: 2.3.6
Baseband: N_03..13.56P
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-00011-gbc368b9 [email protected] #2
Build Number: 45.0.43
ERI: Version 5
PRL: Version 21100
My Phone number: 000-000-5761 (obviously not correct)
MIN: 0000005761
MEID: A000002C5D4811
Network: nTelos (I have no idea where that network even is)
Signal Strength: -101dBm 0 asu
Mobile network type: CDMA -1xRTT
Service State: In Service
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
I tried again to root my phone to try to put a custom rom on it, but when I try the moto-fastboot method upon entering the command thru abd shell /preinstall/su I get the error "Permission Denied". I have tried the superoneclick method, Pete's method, z4 root, and droid 3 easy root. I am at quite a loss here on what to do next.
Does anyone know of a way I could maybe use the default android recovery to install the proper rom for my phone and where to get the proper rom?
Alternatively, does anyone know where I can get the proper sbf file for the CSpire Motorolla Milestone X2?
I have been searching for a few days, so please don't get mad if I have overlooked a thread. I was very hesitant about posting this thread because I am not a very active member of your forums and I wanted to make sure I searched a lot before asking the same question over again.
I am not saying the problem I am having is completely unique, but I have not seen anyone with my problem. Since my phone is currently useless as a phone I am willing to try a lot more methods.
Update: I have successfully rooted my phone again using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1823112
Given that I now have root access are there any new options to get my phone to work?
How to change you system number
I have some more updates on my current status. I have received a warranty phone. I will not mail it for a few more days, so if anyone can inform me on how to pull some import files from it for their personal use I will . It is rooted now using the method mentioned above. Upon activating the phone with a rep from the company I got some more possibly useful information. I hope this helps others.
I haven't seen this anywhere, but if you need to change you system phone number do the following:
1. dial ##626 press call
2. enter 000000 for the SPC password
3. MIN is the number for your local network
4. IMSI will fill automatically
5. MDN is your personal phone number
6. CDMA system ID I have not information on this

noob in need of advise! about roms

Hey there XDA,
I never knew about all those roms and rooting, but i was too impatient to wait for the official release of jelly bean
So i did alot of googling and came across alot of roms, and weird terms.
I did a little research on how to flash my phone to jelly bean and thought i knew how it had to be done.
so i downloaded the rom followed instructions and succesfully flashed the rom.
But now i can't acces the internet.
Everything works, except my normal internet (3g, APN) i dont know.
I really want to keep jelly bean, but i rather have ICS with 3g
Is there any way to keep jelly bean, maybe downgrade to a previous update and have 3g?
or do i have to go back to ICS factory reset to have 3g again?
I did not root my phone by the way.
Thanks for reading, and some help or advise would be great!

while in access point. hit the right mean button to get + new APN and then add tele2 settings.
If you are having trouble finding the settings or entering them, call tele2 and they will walk you through it.

You came to the right place. I can tell you the solution hopefully.
Just install custom Rom "VIPERDNA"
After that go to "Venom tweaks" app > "misc" > Check "Disable HTC SmartSYNC" and "Force enable WIFI N Support"
after that go to settings>call>preferred network and chose LTE/CDMA. Now the local signals will be gone.
Do a reboot of the phone and then connect your wifi. now go back to call and change your preferred network to GSM only. your signals will appear and the wifi will work. But the thing is you don't have to switch off your wifi ever.
If by mistake you do switch off wifi you would have to change your preferred network to LTE/CDMA then do a reboot and connect wifi and afterwards change your preferred network to GSM only.

No only if you disable wifi, wifi is still enabled when you're out of range. That's how it searches for available networks.

NOTE 3 N900P SPRINT LOST APN,IMEI after Factory Reset! Help S.O.S

Hi XDA ,
Am new in the Forum & First of all thanks to all of you for helping the forum and people. I'm having difficulties and I cant seem to find the way to fix this(its been 2 weeks)
My problem is the following: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 details:
software version: N900PVPUBMI3
hardware version N900P.00
Status: network: Digital roaming
mobile network type CDMA-AxRTT
Android 4.4.2
KERNEL:[email protected]#1
A friend bought me this phone and called my carrier METROPCS and made them set up the phone so I could use it. they asked him for imei and sim number. He was able to use the phone and 4GLTE(he was doing this to verify it was unlocked) later on he gave me the phone and I had to do the same procedure he did but first I did a factory data reset.
After it I wasn't able to set it up again.
I've noticed that APN SETTINGS has disappeared from the menu, cant search for networks, when I load IMEI it no longer shows the imei but it shows MEID B0000000 and besides all of this I have a message that says SIM CARD INVALID.(but the sim card works perfectly on my other phone)
I will all my life appreciate if you help me with this matter please!
PS. phone is rooted as far as I know(root check on Google play store said it was)
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.

Good luck

You might try installing this app it find/gives all the hidden info on your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/not.../app-one-click-hotspot-enabler-menus-t2816159 it will give you APN's MEID AND IMEI . All you have to do is download to your PC, it my download as a zip file. Just use 7zip and rename it to an apk, then copy and paste it to your internal sd card via your charging cable. Then click on apk and install. Enjoy !!!
BTW your MEID is on a label under the battery !!!

Hi Jim/XDA
I'm still not able to connect to the network. Regarding the IMEI on the back part i know its there however what im saying is that im not able to see my imei through command when i dial *#06#
i as well had this errors today when i woke up:
: LTE:ESM-x EMM-14(ive seen this error when this issue started but it dissapeared and it came back know)
data roaming: you have lost data connectivity because you left your home network with data roaming turned off.
On mobile networks i remember i use to be able to select many(GSM,CDMA,etc) now in network mode i only see 2 options LTE/CDMA,CDMA. Currently LTE/CDMA is selected and if you just look at the network mode option without actually opening it it shows CDMA/LTE/EVDO.
Also when i opened the SCRTN it shows on black screen.
I tried to do some minor changes on Galaxy tools like the SIM UICC UNLOCK all mps, sales, default code on XAS. Factory & keystring ON. MSL/SPC show 222222.
After i did SIM UICC UNLOCK and restarted phone know took away all errors but i see the signal bars faded out and with a little red x on top of it. I've read the manual but im still wondering if there might still be things to set on a particular way that are not specified on it Can you please help me set this up properly?

Is this a Sprint variant? If so, you shouldn't have factory reset the phone. It looked like the phone was previously flashed to MetroPCS and by resetting the phone, it removed all the carrier data.
You will have to reflash the phone to get it working again.

Go Settings, and scroll down the list. You will find a search box. Type there Access Piont Names and here it is.
The steps above are neccesary, since APN setting is hidden.
