I have 1.83 rooted and i flashed gingerblur, I now want to flash greyblur instead. Can I just flash it right over Gingerblur? Or do i need to wipe data first or install a fresh sbf and flash it over that?
Thanks
It worked when I flashed gingerblur over greyblur so I'm assuming vise versa would work. Worst case scenario you would have to sbf flash back to stock.
I'm running 4.1.83 and greyblur worked for me but switched to gingerblur because it supports 4.1.83. According to the op of the greyblur thread it was meant to support 1.5.2. I'm waiting for an update before I flash back to greyblur.

I too am patiently waiting for Greyblur .83. I loved what Kennethpenn did with it. I am all the way back to .83 rooted but running stock ROM till I get Greyblur back.
So does greyblur not work with 1.83? If I flash it over gingerblur 3.1 on 1.83 will it work correctly. I find gingerblur to have bad battery life compared to stock.

That would be a question best asked of Kennethpenn. I do not think it will work but I am also not the best person to answer.

I am still on the older HKTW 2.3.4 and now that the newer ATT leaked 2.3.4 is out there i would like to know the best way to flash it? And by best i mean safest . I know there have been a lot of bricked atrix's, so any help is greatly appreciated!
Additional info:
I have installed Clockwork recovery
I have rooted it
Thanks
The best way is to use Ken's cwm zip. The danger is in updating using the orange pulled from moto servers and then trying to sbf back to an earlier build.
Ken's rom and Dorian's red pill rom are both fantastic.
Edit: This assumes you have the unlocked CWM, which I would guess is the case since you are on HKTW.

so can i just flash dorians redpill over my hktw 2.3.4, because he says you can do it if you are already on 2.3.4 but i am not sure if it will only work if you are on Kenns 2.3.4. WOuld the safest method be to flash back to 1.8.3, then unlock the bootloader and flash back to kenns 2.3.4 then to dorians redpill?
Hi ive searched all forum and i hope im not being repetitive... is there a way to come back to stock 1.8.3 from gingerblur without flashing with rsdlite? i already hardbricked one atrix so im afraid of the rsdlite tool :S
I just want to remove gingerblur and come back to motoblur
If you're on ginger blur the pseudo rom then the back to stock zip in the themes and. Apps section will do if u are on gingerbread the zip rsd will be fine if u are on ota gingerbread then follow the pudding guide

ya no prob the way to stay away from a hard brick is to stay away from the ota 2.3.4 the roms developed in the dev section are pretty safe
i'm running P3's rooted gingerbread. it's not running as flawlessly as rooted froyo (HDMI doesn't work, cloud version google music doesn't work). i have a nandroid backup of froyo. can i just flash the backup froyo rom or do i need to sbf? i don't mind sbf'ing but i would like to avoid the hassle of having to sbf, reinstall everything, re root, re debloat, etc.
has anyone successfully flashed a backup froyo from gingerbread?
thanks.
I have considered rolling back to my 2.2 nandoid backup myself. I have both 2.3 and 2.2 set up the same (supercharged, debloated, sd speed increas, vold.file to switch sd external read as internal) and honestely 2.2 was faster and less glichy than 2.3 has been. I "think" you shoul be OK to flash your 2.2 backup from 2.3, but I am not positive about this so wait until others have chimed in to this thread.
google didn't find many results so i read the droidx forum. there are several threads in that forum stating that the X could NOT flash a backup of froyo when on gingerbread. boot up gets stuck at M.
i would assume that it's the same w/ the X2. i think the gb upgrade installed a new bootloader and this is the reason why you can't simply flash a backup froyo rom.
awaiting confirmation.
You can't load backups cross versions. You would need to sbf to froyo first, root and bootstrap, then load your backup. Like wise if you wanted to load a gingerbread backup you'd have to be currently on gingerbread.

Unsupercharge and see how 2.3.3 runs for you. Kills froyo IMO

2.3.3 had bad music skipping and pausing w/out supercharger. supercharger addressed the lag, for the most part. no way i could use 2.3.3 w/out supercharger.
anyway, i sbf'ed back to froyo, rerooted, loaded custom recovery, debloated, supercharged. i like it better than froyo. my hdmi out works. my cloud google music works. the music does not skip or pause. the only complaint is the screen lag coming out of sleep. i had forgotten about that.
now that i've tried 2.3.3, i'm staying w/ froyo.

I've tried lots of variations. Supercharged is the best IMO.
I have an Atrix 4G (Bootloader unlocked and Rooted), now; most treads that I have read are not clear enough to what exactly Gingerblur 4.5 is, if it is a new Rom that would install and replace Gingerbread 2.3.4 or if you have to have some form of Factory Rom installed (Froyo, Gingerbread, etc.) for Gingerblur to install on top of it. With this said; do I need to keep whatever Rom I have now or I need to wipe the phone clean? or Gingerblur would install regardeless?.
Please if somebody could clarify this.

GingerBlur is a pseudo-rom. Try CM7 or Aura, real roms. They will wipe your phone clear during installation.
Hehe isn't it kinda simple to see how old something is by looking at the posted date? Either way I've been messing around trying to get this rom working on my phone again just for fun and I forgot what it looked like. And I finally got it. Lol. If anyone wants detailed instructions on how to get the beast that is Gingerblur working PM me.

I want to go to the new Eclipse, but I am currently running CM7. Do I have to sbf back to 2.3.4, then install the 2.3.5 zip before I can install it? I know what to do after I sbf, just curious what I have to do when I start.
Sent from my MB870 using Tapatalk
Some have reported success running eclipse on the 2.3.4 kernel. So you may be able to just wipe the big 3 and flash eclipse.
However, if you want to do it as it's meant to be done you will need to sbf. To flash 2.3.5 you have to be on stock 2.3.4.

Sbf is only option.
Tapin' the Talk on the xSquared
Yeah, if you want to do it right with the least possibility or amount of issues, SBF back to 2.3.4 stock and go from there.
Personally, I see no reason to upgrade to 2.3.5, I see no benefits between the two and notice no performance improvements. I am having the best luck with CM7.
