For Milestone it's not mmcblk1p10, it's /dev/block/mtdblock11 instead.

Thanks.
I'll change the app.

You need AndExplorer installed in order to use the Browse button.

Ops, my bad. I installed androexplorer instead of andexplorer. Now it's working just fine.

Thanks, this will be very useful to get rid of the stock Motorola boot logo.

Thanks for this helpful app.

How do I make my own?
So how do I make my own?
I understand you need to convert the image to raw and make it 8 bit and all that (there's plenty of tutorials) but what should the resolution be? will my image automatically be centered? should it be full screen?
Your app looks pretty promising by the way.

Hi,
The image resolution must be 480x182.
It will be automatically centered.
The raw image must have 256k.

You can create a raw 8 bit color depth image.
Btw, the next version will import from png images.

Hey, will you look at that??
It works!
Haha, I was skeptical at first because of the lack of clear instructions, but it works just fine.
I can't buy you a coffee, but damn I'm gonna write one hell of a review!
Here's my raw if anyone wants it. It's the Gamecube start up logo, (i was just testing it) but it looks cute as hell.

What This Is
-GB keyboard tweaked for the Nook Colors screen (a lot of time has been put into making sure it is just the right size)
- Froyo keyboard look and feel
good news:
- since this is using the stock GB keyboard as a base themes should still affect the keyboard i dont know if there will be any adverse effect since i haven't tested it
Future plans
- have this installable along side of the stock keyboard.
- post a zip with the original keyboard in it to undo this if a user doesnt like it, make sure you nandroid before installing at the moment
RLS 2
-changed the candidate strip back to black with original colors so that themes apply correctly, tested with honeybread and it's working fine.
RLS 3
-now a standalone apk install through a file explorer like any other apk (i forget the user who made the renamed GB keyboard it is his apk tweaked)
-uploaded the zip to take you back to the stock keyboard since having 2 of the same keyboard is kind of pointless
-i think that is about all the changes to the keyboard i wanted to do so this will likely be final
Flash this zip in recovery if you are using a Prior Version to get the stock Keyboard Back
Stock Keys Zip
New! Tablet Keyboard APK
Stand Alone APK
This is a tweaked version of CMwallpapers with wallpapers all at a higher resolution for our devices screen size.
Thanks goes to 911jason for starting the thread so i had wallpapers to use there are 10 in this one i might flesh that out depending on the response i get from it
How-to Install
-use titanium backup or another app that will allow you to remove system apps to remove CMwallpapers.apk
-reboot
-install this like any other APK through a file manager
Download here
good news themes work, but since the canidate strip is white background instead of black some of the colors are off, when i get a chance to work on it again i will take it back to the stock color it might look weird but themes should work perfectly (i tested with tablet tweaked honeybread)
I tried it. But I just found out the hard way that whenever I try to use a non stock keyboard all the keys are blank. There work, but you can't see what letter they are suppost to be on the keyboard. I flashed the nightly over to get the stock keyboard back. Anyone know what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

wait what the keys were blank for you?
and also you know this is the stock keyboard right and there are no changes to it that would have affected the letters, i am personally using it and haven't had an issue at all. were you running a theme on it or anything?
What I mean is the keyboard shows up and works. But there are no letters or symbols on the the keys. Just grey blank keys. I tried different themes including stock, same thing.
Sent from my NookColor using XDA App
alright new version in the first post
now it is a stand alone.apk
only drawback is that themes do not apply to it now but it is nice to have both keyboards on there
reloaded the apk, there was an error in compiling causing the & key to get borked, also changed the candidate strip back since themes won't be affecting the keyboard anymore
download again if you have the problem if you don't awesome
sorry to have missed that, i don't get as much time as i used to for this stuff.
also leave some feedback if you guys like it
Awesome work! keep it up!
alright guys i have a 2nd version as well
this one keeps the gingerbread looks but
-has the dimensions of the other tablet keys
-instead of the smile key it has an enter key
the enter key mod and .apk i built this from and modified was created thanks to user notverycreative in this thread

[VIDEO] New Moboot - Now with COLOR!

Hey kids,
I was screwing around with jcsullins, creator of moboot. He explained how to modify the image that is used for the moboot background. I made this one, and would like to share it with you.
Just flash this with CWM or TWRP and it will replace your current moboot. This does not change the operation of the moboot, it just gives it some "flare", or as I call it, "Kyle Style". LOL
Since the image is bigger than just a blank black screen, it does take a split second to load. This is normal.
Let me know what you think!
Here is what the background looks like:

Here's one for cm9 too! post a screenshot in the morning.
This is pretty awesome. I've prepared one but idk how to prepare a flashable zip for it :/
edit: yep, you can just use root explorer and mount /boot as rw and then place the moboot.background.tga inside /boot (then mount ro again) and reboot.
voila:

the bad thing about this is, that it takes around 2-3 extra seconds to load the image

Your wish has been granted. Check OP.
Hey rev, you mentioned on the video to 'not tick the RLE' option in the photoshop saving process which is actually false. That checkbox says "compress RLE (Run Length Encoding)" which can turn a 3mb file to 100kb (32bit) and if you choose the 16bit profile you can get the 3mb file to around 50kb.
My suggestion for photoshop users is to tick compress RLE but choose the 24bit or 32bit profile (16bit wont play nice with gradients).
Rev got a question and ask a favor. I have no idea how to expand on the vid and also think Photoshop would be required. I have the following 2 images and would like to have HP on top and Android on bottom. I'm sure the blacks are off, but would think that Ps could fix that and join them and format it to the size we need... heavy sigh. Can this be done?
or this one superimposed on black background

I'm pretty sure that I said TO check the box. I double checked the video. I DO say to check it off, both in GIMP and in Photoshop.
Also, I would love for you to share with me a way to make a 1024x768 tga file down to 50kb. I have yet to get one below 900kb.
I must have heard wrong then, sorry for that.
I use Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1 (not sure if its different in previous/newer versions) and here is an image with my settings for the save as ->targa:
and here is the file itself:

Made one for myself, took awhile but finally got it going. Here is a preview:

If anyone is intersested, I can post the .tga file.

[BOOTANIMATION] Android 2012 BIOS Boot Animation (sources included!)

Hello Everyone!
I took frysee & Krisprolls work and updated a few details and dates and reworked the last part (Android logo).
Now the bootanimation consists of three parts: The BIOS animation, the Android logo fade in and the Android logo lighting (this one loops for 10 times*)
This is what it looks like now (slowed down a little bit from the real thing):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
*Not pictured in the GIF animation
Installation instructions:
Download bootanimation_BIOS_Defy-signed-SLOW7.zip (slower version) or bootanimation_BIOS_Defy-signed-FAST12.zip (faster version) [/B] and place it somewhere on the SD Card.
Boot into Recovery Mode and select [Latest Recovery]
Select Install zip from SD Card and select the downloaded zip from the SD Card
Confirm, go back to the previous menu and reboot (no wipe cache/dalvik needed)
If you want to increase/decrease the speed of the animation:
Unzip the package and navigate to "system/media" (optional: delete the zip)
Unzip bootanimation.zip (optional: delete the zip)
Open with any text editor (like Notepad) the file desc.txt
Edit the last number of the first line. A bigger number will make the animation go faster and a smaller number will make it go slower
Re-zip all the files as bootanimation.zip (DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE ZIP FILE)
Go back to folders (you should have META-INF & system)
Re-zip these two folders with any name you want
Follow "Installation Instructions" above
I'm also attaching the source PSD (Photoshop CS 5.5) files so you can modify it to your own liking! It uses the Fixedsys font which should be included in every Windows version, but just in case, you can get it from here (its a free font).
If you wish to create your own version I suggest you downloading the following programs:
Boot Animation Creator by despotovski01
Boot Animation Previewer by despotovski01
Obviously, an image editing software (I used Photoshop)
These are the values I used for Boot Animation Creator:
480x800, 12fps
folder part0, 1 loop, 75ms delay
folder part1, 1 loop, 50ms delay
folder part3, 10 loops, 50ms delay
EDIT: The slower version was updated to install properly in CWM.
Hope you enjoy it!
Wow..that looks grt.. thanks..
Ohh it is too fast man.. make it slow. Ofcourse if possible.

The good thing is that I included the full sources so you can adjust it to your settings! The even better thing is that I made a slower version as well (original post updated)
Can you please create a version for CM9 that includes 4.0.3?
I would create it, but I currently don't have any time
Updated the first post with a guide on how slow down or speed up the animation to suit your needs. Also updated the slow version to work properly via CWM.
Nice, thanks...
EDIT: it detects phone language as well

I have it running in a CMDefy 7.1. Maybe something changed in 7.2 RC1?
It doesn't work on GGL ROM and CM7.2
I tested only on these two, only black screen.
Not working on many roms?
I've seen that the animation is not working on many ROMS. Have anyone tried to install it via ADB? Have anyone tried to decompress the animation and compile it again?
As I said before I'm using CyanogenMod-7.1.0-11-Defy (Gingerbread GWK74 - CyanogenDefy 11-11-11) on a Bayer Defy.
Nice bootanimation. Can anyone port it into miui .mtz file?

The Animation is set to loop until the boot process is finished.. depending on how long your device takes to boot-up it may end up at different positions (frames) or did you mean the animation get stuck at green right?
What do you mean no network? did you let the device settle after the boot for few minutes..

Then I've repacked it with no compression and tried again. Now it work like a charm. Thx

Hey , whoever made this did a really great job.
I really like those swallow and ace animations, however i don't know how it works...apk?
Could you please make a version that you can use on any phone, like a zip file - it doesn't even need to be flashable,
because i know how to make my own boot animations and i would just need the pictures.

Can you show us those Pictures from all of those?
What would be the easiest and most save way to install this without a custom recovery? I tried Flashify and FlashFire but it didn't work. Can I simply replace the original up_param.bin.lz4 in the stock BL tarfile with the up_param.bin? Do I need to rename it to .lz4? Or can this also be done via fastboot or adb?
I would prefer the later to have more control over the process instead of using Odin.
Edit: Simply run the following line in a root shell.
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/up_param.bin of=/dev/block/platform/13d60000.ufs/by-name/up_param

Just done my plus via TWRP, tested all 4 and in my opinion best clean natural looking ones are BLACK and SPLASH
CLEAN shows Yellow triangle top left only, if you want to use this as a guide for when booting to twrp, but on quick 2nd flash of samsung galaxy logo, that's when you remove fingers from bixby and power buttons.
Thank you for sharing your work, Very much apprecaited

might be yes. campatible with LOS 17.
I didnt have use this 'SoLdieR9312s Splash Screen'
but tried to edit my S10's Splash Screen.
to edit splash screen, we need to modify 'up_param.bin' that only have jpg image files (bootlogo, download mode screen, etc)
I successfully edit and apply my S10 running LOS17.1
this is just jpg image edit.. seems looks like work Samsung Rom, LineageOS, etc
If u have trouble after flash this file, just flash Stock Rom BL file (or original up_param.bin)
Would these work on s10 plus snapdragon sm-g9750? Thanks
pardon my potential ignorance but can't one not simply change the jpeg warning bootscreen by a clean one (copying a clean one and renaming it to the ugly warning screen and then replacing it)
I remember I did that a long time ago on an S6 ...
right, I found the bootsamsungloop.qmg and bootsamsung.qmg
in directory system/media
looking for how to change the qmg-files (so I can make my own company branded splash screen)
Working fine on my S10 with LOS17.1 and twrp 3.4.0-4 by ianmacd. Flashed the "Black" zip via twrp.
Thank to the Dev. Good work.

I just learned it isn't possible on snapdragon, because these images are in the bootloader itself in which nobody can actually modify, atleast yet.
How easy is it to change the images to anything I like? I've not downloaded and looked yet
