Hi i have some problems with my folio 100; i have try to install linux into my folio successfuly but at restart, the folio became black with power led red on and freeze.
I can't shut down folio with anything; how can i restart or shutdown the folio?
Now, i find similar guide into this forum to install linux into folio but which is more correct?
because in this way, there are 2/3 types of guide instead one complete.
Thank you very much!
ps. now, if i want to install dexter mod, which type of boot.img i have to use?
best regards

Any ideas or sugestions would be helpfull
Chris
Can you provide a logcat or just install any of roms here. In my opinion, they're all better then Toshiba's crappy stock rom.
My bricked Folio
Hi thanks for the reply .
I cant get a logcat as the Folio will not start up so i can not connect it to the adb server, also when i try to start the machine and press the volume up button after i see the toshiba logo it does nothing ecept for the screen flashes a couple of times and the home and other uttons illuminate when pressed

Newbie , so please be gentle with me if my question seems daft.
have installed detox 4.0.28 and have a few questions. I have tried replying to the actual thread , but it will not let me as im new.
I installed the unofficial SDE , and installed the detox. I have root , but when i actually look at my version , it just says 4.0.28..will there be anything to actually show i have the detox version?
I followed Surd instructions , but did not have the option of " go to recovery SDE and Remove android kernel if you have already installed any official firmware !"
so i carried on and "go to Flash kernel & Initramfs and copy here zImage and initramfs.cpio.lzo from ( Archos_Deodex_4.0.28)
Ok ! ... & wait to boot !"
My other question is about reboot
I hold the power for 10 secs ..see the Archos logo flash very briefy ...if i do not release the power button quick enough ..the screen then goes blank ..and i end up pushing the power button in briefly a few times , and sometime i see the logo screen. Has anyone else experienced this
thanks for any help you can give

Hello again (you already know me as mls over on the archosfans forum LOL).
First off, its "root and deodexed" not "rot and detoxed"...
I assume you mean that you have installed this "deodexed" version 4.0.28. Even though it does have a number of other additional changes, it's still uses the Archos 4.0.28 firmware as a base... and, as such, would show up as 4.0.28 in Settings=>About. Sometimes a ROM developer will change that, or they will change what is listed further down in the Build version section. In all honesty, it is up to YOU to keep track of what you install on YOUR OWN device.

The Remove Android Kernel option will only show up once (or if you later re-install an official Archos firmware .aos again later). If you had already removed the the Android Kernel when you installed some other rooted firmware it would not show up as an option again (until you install official Archos firmware again).

Don't know what you mean because the ONLY time you ever would hold the power button for 10 seconds is if you wanted to force the device to reset and turn off. If the device is up and running, you would only have to hold the power button for about 3 to 5 seconds and an option menu should display giving you a choice to go into deep sleep, reboot, or turn off. Holding the power button for 10 seconds anywhere else could cause any number of other problems because you may be FORCING the system to shut down in the middle of something important that it needs to complete doing.
To get into the Recovery/SDE you have to first make sure the device is totally shut down and turned off. Then keep holding in the + (or -) volume button and just press the power button long enough for it to boot up into the Recovery/SDE menu.
As for the boot logo not showing up... well, unfortunately surdu_petru used an early version of the Archos 4.0.28 firmware for his ROM's (Archos actually released 3 different ones all with the same 4.0.28 version number... see my other posts about that elsewhere). The first release would go into a blank display for a while instead of properly displaying the animated logo.
Hi MLS
A small world (LOL) Thanks again for your reply on here ( and archosfans) LOL .. ) you have been very informative.
Rot and detox ..oops finger trouble there ..and i did not know how to go and amend the title, or the text when i used detox ( perhaps i need to go into detox from beer , to stop my rambling ..then again ....)
Power problem , yes its only when i turn the tablet on ( from off) , i normally hold the power button in , until i see the archos logo..then i let it go. Its no problem , as the screen sometimes goes blank ( making me think ..oh no!! is it broke) , but after about the same time of a normal power on..the archos logo appears , then goes, as the tablet is on, and everything is normal.
But as you have now told me the reason , i will not panic..
Thanks again.

I was trying to install cyanogenmod on it and during that process i guess i made a crucial mistake.
As i already did it once on my old samsung galaxy plus i tried it again and i was doing great.
I´ll save you the details on how i tried to install cyanogen....
Lets get to the problem
Well i have a SGP312 (Wifi 32gb)

All i get now is a black display and a red led.
Tablet reacts when i press vol. up + power button but nothing happens.
Only the led turns off. lights up white then green, while connected to windows the pc informs that it detected some connected device but nothing appears.

Hi,
my Pipo M6 per wifi hangs itself while starting, i.e. he gets stuck with the loading picture. Indeed, with the Reset he restarts, however, gets stuck also again. After he gets stuck, he can be also switched off no more, except by Reset.
And I also do not come to the Recovery mode, I thought, maybe helps a new firmware. However, sometimes he registers if I hold the keys while starting low-spirited, that Android little manes with open belly and warning sign. see below.
If I hang him by USB on my Win7 pc, a wrong driver's file is installed constantly, either Samsung or HTC, so that the Flashtools register that no suitable device is connected. With the USB driver of Pipo the pc says that that is no suitable driver's file.
What can I do?
And over again for stupid ones: I come to the Recovery fashion, nevertheless, dur volume press ESC and power at the same time, or?
Please, can anybody help me?
Nobody can help?
Is the tablet an fall for garantie?
Anybody any idea?
Please help.
Try one of the 2 methodes

A This is the easiest way: Do a HARDRESET
Recovery Mode (for Factory Reset):
-----------------------------------------------------------
1. [Reset] (on the backside)
2. [Power] + [Vol-]
3. green Android shows up
4. press [Vol-] + [Vol+] + [ESC] together till Menu shows up (if it's not showing up try to press it a few once more)
OR
B For advanced users: Flash the original Firmware (download from here it is a very slow download )
and use the howto which is delivered within the downoad.
Maybe you can find some usefull information here
Hope i could help u. For me it was working fine.....
Hi ,
So I got a pendopad 7 from dodo car insurance promotion and while I was trying to remove kingroot and replace with supersu , I think something went wrong and now tablet is in a weird state. It boots up to show nothing but if press and hold power button I can see option to turn off the tablet. I am assuming its something to do with systemui.apk , I was wondering if there is a way to fix it without rom install as I dont have any backup or the image to restore this tablet.
Its A-33 Quadcore Pendopad 7 PNDP51M7BLK
Ram 1 gb
Android 5.1.1
1024 x 600 px
http://www.pendo.com.au/pendopad-7-q...k-pndp51m7blk/
If anyone has this tablet or rom or any method to bring it back to life. Any help is appreciated.
I can acces the normal recovery on the tablet and have tried resetting it but doesnt help .I cant find the factory image for this device
Thanks

You may need more knowledge about this but here is what you can do
DON'T PLUG IN THE DEVICE INTO THE PC YET
Install Phoenix Suit and click the firmware button
Find a firmware image for your tablet. (most likely at chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot.com )
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds and let the tablet sit for 10-20 seconds to insure it is completely off.
ON THE DEVICE:
1: Hold ANY button that is not the power button
2: while still holding the other button, plug in the device to the computer
KEEP HOLDING IT DOWN
3: RIGHT after you plugged the microusb press the power button really quickly around 4 or 8 times and on the computer Phoenix Suite will ask you this:
Tip: Does Mandatory Format?
Click Yes
Click Yes again
It will install the new firmware, if it shows no progress for more than 6 minutes you don't have the right firmware image.
HOPE THIS HELPS
Oh yeah, you will need to re-root the device with KingoRoot PC, and Wifi, or Bluetooth may not work anymore. Sorry about that.
