Hey guys, having some issues in regards to turning on the gps and it kills my 3g signal. so i cant load gmaps or check-in on fb. searched the forum couldn't find anything. please help
wrong section should be in General.. but just to make it easier for you. reflash it all from start (Sony ericsson update utility) or pc companion from sony's website.. or flashtool with whatever your carrier is on.. browse through here.. thanks
Get a Stock ROM and your problem will be gone.
I have the same issue on TripNMIUI but i just pull down the notification bar and disable and re-enable data then 3G/H will be back online.
and I'm killing this problem

So I'm really fed up with my xperia mini right now, had no problems at all with internet and gps before the update, since updating i cant get either of them working......also my SatNav program has disappeared from my menu since even though when i plug the phone in to my laptop i can see the SatNav software in there.....
anyone got any solutions?
thanks
Is your phone branded or unbranded?
Is your GPS and SatNav problems with app's you installed or built-in app's with the update?
Are your internet settings downloadable from your service provider or do you need to manually set them up?

Phone is unbranded. The GPS was already on the phone, the Satnav i installed. You manually set up the internet. I have put all the correct codes in but it just wont connect anymore. Didnt have any problems before the update.
I've done some reading and it seems im not the only one who cant get internet and gps since the update.
Try the official RomfFor your region/carrier - it sometimes helps.
Hello,
Tried both of them, got problems with both, and they both seem nice
Problem with copilot:
entry problem for destination. When I have to be in city "Deinze" it will enter "Ddedeideindeinzdeinze". Something is wrong with the input, tried disabling dictionary and word suggestions but nothing seems to help, also reinstall didn't help.
Problem with Navigon mobile navigator: Force close when launch without data connection. Turned internet usage off in settings, no traffic jam info, nothing...
Tried to denie permissions for the license check but nothing helps.
Currently running 2.3.3 Wolf V6 stock
Btw; I don't get the picture with Cyanogenmod; i can't find an official release on their forum but I can see FXP is using it in their FXP041, can someone explain the situation to me?
what navigon version are you on?
Latest on both...

Hi there!
So, I have a little problem with my second phone. The problem now is that I can't find any WiFi networks when I search for one. I have always had connection here home, and it works fine on my XS.
I don't want to restore or flash anything because the reason I need WiFi is to back up the bookmarks I got on the Dolphin Browser that is installed on the phone.
I also want to say that I don't have any SIM-card in the phone because I'm using that one in my XS, but that should not affect WiFi as far as I know.
I'm running Android 2.3.3 and baseband 2.1.71.
So what could the problem be?
Thanks in advance!
What rom have you installed, if so, do you have the right kernel and wifi modules? any details of what you have installed?
Are other pc's or mobiles at home able to perform a search for wifi networks and see the SSID of the router?
Upps.. sorry for leak of info.
I'm running stock ROM. Yeah, I have the right kernel and WiFi modules. The phone have worked well before.
Yes. This phone is the only one who can't find any WiFi networks. It sucks! Never had this issue before.
I am having the same issue. Just started the other day. My phone will not find a wifi network unless it is sitting next to the router. If I am over 5 feet away it just says searching and not in range.
Any thoughts?
Okay, just stood 1 meter from the router, still it didn't find any wifi connections!
This sucks!
When you go to wifi settings and activate it, does the tick apply to the box(enabled) or does not do anything?
It doesn't sound nice. if you are sure that you are running Sony ericsson original software (no custom roms, kernel and else) then try to do a factory reset from the menu, if it doesn't do anything then use SEUS and reinstall the software.
This will prove that this is either or not a hardware fault. It is the best way to check. If it still doesn't work after SEUS reinstall, then it is definitely a fault. If it fixes it then congrats..
If it's a custom rom from here then forget seus and flash the rom again.
Screenshots are welcome if you have..(wifi settings, system info..)
Good luck
The tick apply to the box yes.
Okay, so I connected it to my PC and ran Update Service and did a fresh reinstall of the software. Still the same problem. Can't find any WiFi connections
Well you already know the answer..
Yeah I do.. Think I'm going back to the store with it and get it fixed. Also have some reboots problem that may be related to this..
Thanks for answer.
If you only need your bookmarks just put sim from XS in X10 and turn on and backup info and replace sim in XS.
EDIT: do you have unlocked bootloader? If yes u can try relocking it.

hello mister, I have a same issue with you.
my LWW cannot find a network althought I was sitting in front of the router and it says not in range.
but sometimes it can works well, but it often cannot work
still searching for the solutions
Think its the wifi antenna thats failing.
First I couldnt find any WiFi networks. I had it off for a few weeks (got my Xperia S xD) and when I tried it, it worked well.
So its not easy to find the solution for this.. It sounds like a hardware issue

Hi Guys i have a problem with my Lge p500 with GTR rom, when i use foursquare my phone think to stay on Rome but i'm not there, i stay on 300Km.
On The settings i have enabled the position by 3g/wifi but don't work very well.
Somebody know what i must do to resolve that??
Sorry for the bad english
Ok very interesting
I know that locating via Internet is not very exact because u are locatet by the next sending station from your provider but i never was as far away as you xD
What happens if you try to locate yourselve in the maps aplication using 3G?
I have tryed but the result is the same, by using maps, 4square or other ap who use location... it 's incredible ...
okey that could mean that u allow ur phone to use pseudo locations ( i think so because there is no other explanation i could gues)
go to settings-->applications-->development-->and look if there is a tick behind the pseudo locations
I have already try to do this but nothing change....
I want post on the 3d of my rom but it can't because i'm new
Update
Watching in the settings i have find 2 option to the location
1 is called Location and secure and the others was writhed in Italian but opening is the same things with the same options... it's a bug?
Hi,
I have a problem with my Xperia P.
If i'm connected to a wifi network and then go away (lose range), it becomes impossible to turn wifi off. If i click the toggle, it shows it has turned off, but is still on and when i revisit the menu, the toggle appears to be on again.
Any advice on how to put this to a rest? I really don't have the nerves to do a factory reset and resintall/reconfigure everything...
edit: i have the stock ICS firmware and no root access.
Thanks,
M
Have you check it with power recycling?

Do you rebooted your phone?
This solves many problems on Android

Hi,
only a factory reset helped. I remebered that i have been trying out some tasker apps, so that must have messed things up. Even uninstalling these apps did not help, beware
I am having the same issue, but whats more I can't scan for new networks when entering a new area. It just shows the ones from the previous area with the strengths they had there.
Rebooting the phone helps to connect once but when I leave that area it's the same **** all over again.
I already brought my phone back to the shop where they sent it to sony for "an update" but nothing changed.
The phone is running the stock android 4.04 ICS
Any help would be greatly apreciated

usually this is from the wifi router setting ... might need to change the channels(1,6,8)....ICS has showed issues on wifi refreshing and reconnecting.. first change the channel from auto to fixed value and then restart your phone and try it again.. see if this helps.. also do let me know if you are on rooted device with custom rom or stock rom...??
WIFI Problem
I am also having same kind of problem on my xperia SOLA

In a last desperate attempt to fix it I tried fixing the firmware through PC companion again, and I didn't have any problems today so I'm hoping for the best.

Either you have to do factory reset or rebooting the device might help
Or you can delete all used existing Wi-Fi connection for starting a new Wi-Fi connection
On a different area...
