Any way to remotely unlock phone on multimedia dock? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to unlock the phone using bluetooth keyboard or mouse? I mean, every time i plug the phone on multimedia dock i've got to unlock it using fingerprint or sliding the lock widget and enter my code... is it possible to do this unlock procedure been remotely?

You can try widget locker from the market if ur rooted. Has an option to unlock via back button so escape should work. Hope it helps

[Q] Possible to unlock screen without PIN ?

I have exchange policies through company email, which are quite strict. I am happy with that. Only problem I have now, is that I have to put in the PIN to unlock every time my screen wakes up. Formerly in WM6.5 (HD2) I could unlock only with swipe in the first 30minutes, and after 30minutes of inactivity, I had to provide the pin.
Can I do this now as well ? Is there a difference on the S II between unlock screen and PIN unlock ? In the settings I cannot find this option; are there solutions for that (other lockscreen apps e.g.) who do accept that ?
Hi,
I would suggest you download the manual for the phone.
in the mean time:-
Go to settings/location and security/change screen lock
there you can disable screen lock, set a pattern for unlock, set a pin or password.
Then go to settings/display/screen time out and change the time it takes to lock
Hope this helps
Txs, I see now that also exchange policy has greyed out the pattern option. So I cannot disable the pin unlock and cannot put in pattern ... Unfortunately so ...
oh coroparate phones eh?

I use touchdown for exchange app, and the pin is needed only for the app not the phone.

This is what I am using on my Captivate to overcome the same issue, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848564, I know we are not on the same phone but I am pretty sure the "fix" can be done on the email.apk for your phone.
Basically you need to tell the native email app to tell Exchange that it is using a PIN when in actuality it is not. If it is too complicated for you to do yourself, Fenny is pretty cool about doing it for you, just send him a copy of the email.apk you are using.
Looks like there is already an email.apk for you found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13413332&postcount=1533
If i am using the original ROM on Galaxy S2 for United Kingdom, would this email.apk still work or do i need an updated file ? What are the chances of administrator finding it out ?

Vpn password lock?

It is really annoying to use vpn in ics because of the password protection lock so is there a way to use swipe lock while vpn services active??

You don't necessarily need to use a password. I use a vpn with just pattern unlock set.
However, I believe that pattern unlock is the minimum level of security required for vpn access.

Yes i know but i dont want any kind of lock besides the swipe lock.

Fix to remove pattern/pin/password requirement for VPN
Hey,
theres a bit of a ghetto work around that i found for this annoying requirement on the new galaxy s 3.
First set up your VPN and the required pattern lock. Then you log in to samsungdive.com and press unlock my screen. This will trick the phone to not use the pattern unlock.
Just set your pattern lock to be a straight line from left to right (or right to left) on the bottom-most line.
That's very similar to a swipe lock.

[Q] Anti Theft proof Method

I would like to start by saying hi to everyone who helps to contribute on this website
its no surprise that even if we have our phone locked (with pin/pattern/password) anyone can STILL turn the phone OFF,
Making this flaw an advantage for thieves......So ive been searching around and havent beem able to find any solution to this.
Im an xperia P user, so its not possible to remove the battery (thus turn the phone off) and few persons know about reset method (power + volumen)
I would like to know if there is a way to disable/remove/hide power off option until phone is unlocked, or find a workaround to help this issue, (maybe wake up screen with camera key......etc)
I believe this is a obvious bug that Should be fixed......once this issue is resolved it would be a Must have Mod or App.....
thanks in advance.......hope we all make this happen
i think this option is not a bug but necessity, what will we do if we are locked out and don't remember pin/pattern etc? with a non-removable battery this will cause major disassembly.
If u can't remember your pattern or pin u shouldn't be using this feature, on the other side if u forget ur pin u can still reboot with power + volume, and access CWM.

The goal is to block the thief from turning off the phone and be able to call it and find it. If they can turn it off there isn't much u can do..... Hope I make my point clear as English is not my primary language.....

If we can reboot, anybody can. And if we can't nobody can

Stuck on Lock screen in Ultra Power Saving Mode - Keyboard Won't Appear

The keyboard won't appear so I can't enter the password (required after reboot). I think this is due to being in Ultra Power Saving mode but cannot disable it while phone is locked. Tried wiping cache / Dalvik and safe mode, no luck. Rooted with latest XtreStoLite. Any ideas?

If yoi find no other solution, you could plug in a keyboard using a micro USB to USB adapter. This way you should be able to type in your password. Can you enter the phone dial from the locked screen? If so, you could type in your password using the numbers, then copy and paste it maybe?

Thank you for the suggestions. I do not have a microUSB to USB adapter but sounds like I may be buying one. I can only type in numbers on the emergency call screen and the password has letters so that will not work.

Searching for a contact? There you could type in your pw as search. Is adb enabled? Maybe try adb install a keyboard.

Hi, I'm having the same problem.
MicroUSB to USB adapters are disabled and don't work while in ultra power saving mode.
Edit: fixed it. You have to reboot and type your password in quick before the ultra power saving software blocks your USB.
