[Q] Can't sign up on Social Hub website - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got an e-mail from Samsung saying I'd been automatically registered on the Samsung Social Hub website, but when I follow the link and login, it takes me to a Sign Up page. Unfortunately I can't sign up because when I enter my IMEI number it says:
"This IMEI is not available for the social hub service."
Anyone else had or solved this problem? I tried the Q&A function from the SSH website, but it just gave me an error when I tried to send - hopeless!

Same phone, same problem
Hi Allan
I have the exact same problem. I tried filling out their forms too, but they haven't replied.

you don't need to register?
I use my Social Hub app just fine without having formally registered. And I definitely didn't enter any IMEI number anywhere.

[Q] Trouble Entering Passwords

Just opened my viewsonic Gtablet from Tigerdirect. Ran the OTA update and now running 3588, otherwise straight out of the box.
I am unable to log into any account using an app (mail, contacts, skype, tdameritrade, twitter apps). I am able to log in fine when I visit the website and login through the web.
Is there someplace I have to grant apps permissions to use the internet? Why can't I log in?
Thanks.
Just checking if anyone else had this problem. If not other responses, I'll let this thread die. Thanks for reading.

No. There is no special place to grant permissions to use the internet. Do you get any kind of error message? Force Close? Some indication of symptoms might help us diagnose the problem.
Get an app called Superuser. You will need to root the tab, as well. I think there's something like "oneclickroot" out there.
Honestly, grab a custom ROM, they all come with this standard.
Rooting shouldn't be necessary to make any of those apps work so I doubt that will help him.
Google login fails, 2 step verification is culprit
This may not solve your problem, but it knocked me for a loop for a whole evening with my new motorola defy this week.
You get a new android device, and everything looks so nice, but then you try to log in to your google account. Repeatedly. You keep getting an error that says the username or password are wrong, even though you can log in on your pc. OBVIOUSLY the password is fine, but it wont work on your new android device.
Well, if you turned on 2-part authentication then you have a problem. (If you have never heard of 2-part authentication then move on, you would have to have done this on purpose and it is way to painful to forget having done it.)
Android doesnt support 2-part authentication. So you have to generate a special password for your android device.
Start by logging in to gmail, or whatever google service you wish. Go to your account settings (the little gear-looking thing in the upper right.) Under Personal Settings, Security you'll see an entry called "Authorizing applications & sites". Go here and make an entry for your device, and it will generate a special password for that specific google application that doesnt happen to support 2-part authentication. Enter your super-secret password.
Suddenly the world is golden.
Probably not what the OPs problem was, but I wanted to put it SOMEWHERE.
grrrr....

[Q] S/MIME decryption in stock email (Social Hub)

I have installed my S/MIME certificate into Social Hub application, however I cannot decrypt any message. Social Hub asks for more details about S/MIME. After pressing OK, it shows a progress bar, which goes all the way to the end. Then, nothing is shown (white blank screen, no subject, sender, body or error message).
I tried to remove/add certificate, but to no avail. I'm successfully using the same certificate in Outlook. There might be problem that it was issued by cacert.org and to get it working in Windows I had to install cacert's root certificate. However, I can't find this option in my SGS II. Is it even necessary? If so, could it be the problem I have? If so, how can I install root certificate?
Really
Really? I'm the only one who is not interested in showing his underwear (read emails) to whole world?

New Owner, Question regarding Social Hub and Samsung Dive

Hello,
I just got the phone I'm loving it. It's the international one. I can't seem to get Social Hub to work. When I try to make a premium account, or add a Gtalk account, I keep getting an error. Also, When I go to Samsung Dive, I can't seem to input a postal code during the signup page. It keeps reloading, telling me the postal code is wrong.
A solution
I just had this problem today, googled for an answer, and found your post. After a little trial and error, I noticed that when I inputted a 5 digit code the box was red. When you enter any 6th character it no longer flags red. Simple Solution? Type in your 5 digit zip then hit space bar. It will accept the postal code.
Cheers ,

Have you already tried to clear app data?
In Settings menu => applications => manage applications => all => Social Hub.
If that does not help, try to wipe cache partition in recovery mode (Volume UP + Home + Power).
P.S.: Why using the social hub?
You can create and use your GTalk account with Talk app.
And your email account can easily created and synchronized with EMail app.

Samsung Dive doesn't seem to work for me.

I activated it on my phone for the first time, had to create an account and everything. I then visited the samsung dive website, finished filling in all the details, and now it won't allow me to access any of the features of samsung dive. It merely shows me a large blue button labeled "Register your mobile phone now!" upon logging into the dive website. The button does nothing when clicking on it.
Yes, I have the option enabled on my phone to remotely track it and such.
Why isn't it working for me?
And I've done numerous searches, but found no answer.
Did you give your phone number starting with the + (ie +44 for the UK)?

The only time I provided a phone number was during account creation, I didn't realize I had to enter my device specific number for that?
I ended up including a home phone number when registering my samsung account.

I am having problem with WeChat

Hello,good day everyone
This is bloodygood(oh I really don't want to say my name) from Nigeria
Please I am having problems with my phone or should I say WeChat,I probably don't know
I have downloaded and installed WeChat from playstore five times now and also register five times, but anytime I register and scan the WeChat (which is really hard this days) it always blocked my account(I always register new account because it's really hard to unblock it) but my other friends have theirs still working up to 5 months
And they always Suggest it's my phone that's making WeChat to block my account
So guys I really want to know where the problem originate from. my phone is a Tecno camon 11,4gb and 64gb RAM, thank you.
@Bloodygood
There’re three types of WeChat account blocked, One is temporary block and can get unblocked by yourself. The other one just can’t get unblocked by yourself, you need to ask WeChat to help you unblock it. Or you need to wait for one or two weeks to unblock it or it will be unblock automatically. As for the last one is permanently block, there’s no way to unblock it, as you’ve violated the terms of WeChat so much.
Thank you for your reply @jwoegerbauer
But this is the first time I am hearing that temporarily blocked WeChat can automatically get unblocked by itself.
But why do all my 5 separate WeChat account keep getting blocked ?
Is it from my phone
Because it is perfectly working on others but when it comes to mine it is always writing security threat like this account is suspicious.
Have you tried logging in from different IP or using VPN?

The reasons for WeChat account block
1. WeChat you downloaded on your phone is from an unofficial channel.
2. Phone is rooted what put your WeChat account security endanger.
3. Your WeChar account is reported to send or share some content including lewd content, violent materials, scams, inappropriate rumors, annoying ads, etc.
4. The phone number you used to log in or register WeChat is provided by virtual network operators.
5. You are using a phone number for WeChat account that is operating abnormally.
6. You've been reported by other users for multiple times.
7. You are using WeChat account for violating its terms.

I downloaded it from playstore
My phone is not rooted
I actually don't have less than 4 people on my WeChat
Which I have never send inappropriate things
The number is alright I have used it on other sites, they are all working perfectly
Even I was reported,I never did receive a warning
So I'm afraid of registering a new one in my phone to avoid being blocked
Maybe WeChat have got my Mac address,my IP address and my serial number,so that anytime I do register on that device I will surely get blocked
@Bloodygood
Wondering why you don't simply contact WeChat Help Center to get your problem solved?
