Hello.. My wife has a samsung galaxy s vibrant, with a front facing camera, when she opens the dialer, she has the option to click on video call for video. I just bought a motorola atrix and it does not have the same, and they tell me to use tango or another third party app. I am confused, does the atrix not support video calling through the cell phone network ? Whe she tried to video call me it fails...
Can someone clarify please.
You would need to be over wifi on the atrix. T-mobile is the only company that let's you do video calls with out wifi. Also, she uses what's called qik. If you don't have qik on the atrixs then you would need to use a 3rd party app such as tango. I believe through that specific app you both would need to be on wifi. Hope that helps.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Use Tango, QIK is just not as stable and it doesn't work well on the Vibrant FFC
You both should have a tango account (free) then you can open Tango and just call, It will take about 15-30 secs to make video connection after it hooks up in the call (Faster if both of you are on Wi-fi). Then talk away and oogle at your wife, girlfriend, pet Aardvark...etc. (assuming the Aardvark has a tango account too).
I use it quite a bit with my wife it is kinda cool. And, I solely use it over 3G and it works in my area pretty well without lag.
Hope that helped.
Thanks guys, But what does her phone use when she clicks video call instead of call when normally dialing a number in the default dialer? thats what I am trying to use with her, video over 3g, I pay 5$/month for video calling, but i dont think my motorola supports it. im trying to avoid 3rd party so i can use it without wifi, and without running up data..
I returned my atrix already and waiting for another galaxy S, not just because of video, I did not like motoblur, and also, for some odd reason, when i try to voice dial over bluetooth, I have to unlock the phone first.. which i find very stupid, i dont want to touch my phone when im using my headset.
Just to add, I did try tango, and I think its not supported on the atrix because it all worked, but the voice was so choppy it sounded like slow motion, video did work.
I also tried qik, but for some reason, It wont call my wife, says she doesnt have it, and she cant call me, for the same reason, altho we are both signed on..
Thanks guys.

you MAY want to try and check out/ talk in the Atrix section of this forum... We vibrant users may not know as much about the phone as the people who actually have it.
Ask them if there's a rom/app that would let you do video chats.
Hi everyone!
I'm new to this phone so I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but what is the "Video Call" option in the Contacts?
I've successfully had video chats through Google Talk (2.3.4) but when I try to call someone with a Nexus S using the Video Call option in their contacts, it makes a voice call. This friend's Google Talk/Gmail address are added to their contact in my phone.
So...what is this Video Call option supposed to do? It's not only for video calls between Galaxy S II's, is it??
If it matters I'm in the US, with the phone on AT&T's network.
Video call is supposed to make a 'video call' to any device that supports it, I've done it successfully with a different phone, haven't tried with my sgs2 yet, it's hard to find people that have front cameras and support video calls (eg. not iPhones, even though they have a front camera), also it's usually pretty expensive.
AT&T might have it disabled if it didn't work for you.
Hi all,
I have searched all over the net for a specific question but cannot find the answer I am looking for.
I have a Galaxy s3 & believe I have the 'low mic problem' that is documented in many Galaxy phones. I have turned off 'noise reduction' which may have helped but my main question is this: When I go into 'ServiceMode' & attempt to choose 'Audio' (by touching or by selecting input and 5)
nothing happens? All other options allow me to go in further. Can any of you help me? And is there another way to boost mic?
I have just converted from Crapple & am very happy with phone bar this one problem.
Have you tried recording audio with the Voice Recorder and playing it back?T
This will check if the issue is caused by the voice call (which can be anything from ROM over modem to provider) or hardware (microphone)

I have tested voice recorder & playback is perfect (recognises whispers to shouts).
Just got a text from T-Mobile UK telling me that I could now use HD Voice as long as I had a 3G signal and was talking to someone else with an HD Voice enabled phone.
However, as far as I can see, the Galaxy S2 doesn't have AMR-WB enabled by default, so I don't know why they're telling me that I can use it. I went to the special menu and saw that AMR-WB was "OFF" but there's no way to turn it on. I'm using the normal T-Mobile ROM so I'd have thought they would've enabled AMR-WB on their own ROM if they're advertising AMR-WB??
Is there any other way to turn on AMR-WB for HD Voice?
I can't make normal video call on my SHV-E120S.
when I press video call, it says "video call is not supported in international roaming area"...
the same sim used on my s2 was ok before.
any chance to fix this?
