hi guy
i want to know how to share internet from my PC to my vibrant?
because my WiFi sign is too weak for phone.
anyway i can do for it?
No, wifi is the only way. If you can, move your wireless router closer to where you use your phone most of the time. Or just get a better one, it should have a decent reach.
Hi all,
Any significant difference between the wifi only and wifi+3G? Plan to get a wifi version only soon. A bit worried as Samsung likes to do this, just like the old 7 inch tab and Galaxy S2.
Any wifi only user here can give some opinion? Thanks~
Not sure what you mean. Samsung likes to do what exactly?
I like my wifi only 10.1. I have a 6GB data plan on my Galaxy S2 and can tether all I want. It made sense to use the S2 as a wifi hotspot rather than add an additional device to my mobile plan. Your mileage may vary.
I have 10.1 wifi (GT-P7510) and I love it. My bud has the 3G version and it runs pretty much exactly the same. I like the development for the wifi one better. If I NEED internet on it and I'm not in a wifi area (I usually am), I just tether my phone to get interwebz.
We have 3 note 3 phones and instead of going down the broadband line i was wondering if there was a router that could utlilise the tethering on the phones so that we can always have our tv, wireless printer, wireless kettle connected when anyone is home.
I thought the best way would be via bluetooth? Im sure there must be some sort of solution without having to take out the simcard and render the phne useless!!
its not exclusive to note 3's but at £35*3 i am loathe to get a broadband connection as it seems pointless!
Any help appreciated
the 3 dongles are useless as they dont do unlimited data
Any other solution would be great!
I'm stuck in this Tornado shelter living here for a few months and I'm trying to get internet going (the provider here is crap) If i place my Xperia Z3 by the window I get usable service so I got the idea, buy a T-mobile phone on the cheap and add a line to my plan and set the phone up as a permanent hotspot. So i bought a Nexus 4 and the signal is crap like barely usable my Xperia gets very decent reception sitting in the same spot. I figure its because my Xperia can connect to more LTE Bands. So I'm going to change the Nexus over to a different phone but I wanted some opinions: whats the best phone reception wise on TMobile? opinions, facts, specs. throw them at me! preferably a phone that supports a AOSP rom and root and such! Thank you
Hello everyone I'm hoping to get some help I have an LG v30 but I purchased a few months ago it is the unlocked version from B&H Photo I use it on the Verizon network I use the hotspot daily. Here is my question for you all what is the range of the hotspot my phone has to be within 10 feet of my smart TV or any device that I am trying to let them use my Wi-Fi is this the average distance or what am I doing wrong my previous phone was a Samsung Galaxy S5 useing foxfi I could take my phone outside and go about half a block away and the TV would still have the connection now I can barely leave the room with my LG v30 without it spooling can anyone help me if there is a setting to make the signal stronger in the developer settings or something?
So just gave this a try using my V30 (H932) and WiFi Analyzer on a LG G6. Within 5 ft, the signal strength was -45db. At 30ft, unobstructed, it was -70db. Still usable but getting on that edge of dropping connections. I would guess that phone designers have limited the distance for a hot spot more for security and power reasons than prior generations of phones.
One thing you can check is under Settings->Tethering->Configure Mobile HotSpot you can change the broadcast channels. If you going for distance, stick with 2.4GHz only as it will have better range. You should also check to see what channels are being heavily used in your area using a tool like WiFi Analyzer and manually pick a different channel so nobody else is stepping on your signal.
