USA wifi calling app - Defy Themes and Apps

Hey all, my wife's moto defy is running Miui now and she loves it, but only problem, the much needed t-mobile wifi calling app is obviously gone, anyone out there interested in pulling it off a stock rom and posting it? I I don't have much experience in it all.
I do know there are a lot of people outside US on a defy and this app is somewhat useless to them but it's a huge deal for us, especially since t-mobile just made any post paid plan to have unlimited wifi calling

I am trying to get a little information on whether it's even possible to switch my Eris to Virgin from Verizon. I know that I can get big v yo unlock it for me so I can take it where I want but I cannot seem to get a hold of people at Virgin to ask them. Is there a different number than the one on the website I can call and talk to a person? Or better yet, has anyone on here done it?

What about Cricket? I have gotten my old Verizon Eris working on their PayGO plan in prep for my mother in law visit here in a month, at that time I will switch it to the Android plan. (Talk text MMS and Mobile web on PayGO, but the Android play is less fickle with dropping the data connection due the proxy)

[Q] AOSP ROM for Vibrant 4G with Wifi Calling... Does it exist????

Hi guys, my poor mom has been sticking it out with the original MyTouch 3G ever since it came out in the summer of 09 and its time for her to upgrade.
I'm strongly considering the vibrant for her as it can be had for around $250, however I have noticed that the Vibrand 4G goes for nearly the same amount. Also every since the stupid ip0wn facetime came out she keeps telling me she want a front camera, not like shes ever gonna use it but hey, it my mum. So the Vibrant 4G makes the most sense. BTW, if your suggesting, neither one of us likes the Mytouch 4G..
Anyways, shes very used to the AOSP Froyo on her original MyTouch 3G and I dont want her to have to relearn crappy ass touchwiz. Is there an AOSP Rom out there, could be either Froyo or Gingerbread, doesnt matter, that includes wifi calling that is ported to the Vibrant 4G?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Im pretty sure there's almost nothing for the vibrant 4g but you can check their forum for sure.

you could try the g2 it comes stock android / aosp.
Edit : didn't read the op about ffc
EDIT2: There's a rom with no touchwiz with a gingerbread launcher.

Aosp + wifi calling + any form of the vibrant = nonexistent. There's no way around it.

A search would have gotten you your answer. It's not possible, and odds are it never will be possible.

I would be on CM7 or MUIU if wifi calling was working. But I have found only the 2.2 roms, and only biwinning 2.2.1, and simply honey and maybe Asgard worked on the 2.3.4 roms.
I used a program called Sipdroid for wifi calling a while back. Not sure if it still works or is free but look into it.
or grooveip
Is anyone working on a wifi calling app for the vibrant on CM7? I would like to get it for my son's phone. He can't pick up anyones cell signal in his dorm room, but has wifi. I have wifi calling on my G2 and it's terrific. I would gladly pay for a working solution.

One of the recent MIUI revamped releases had wifi calling included, but if I remember correctly, it was yanked because the battery drain on it was really bad, not to mention it was really touchy to get it working. You may want to check in that thread to see if anyone still has a link to the release that had it.

Agreed! But I think functionality should trump price.
but there are many big hands for this atrix; like fingerprint scanner, cyanogenmod support, active dev team... but i find the photon has cool camera features, big screen blah blah blah.....awh i need to find a photon user for better review!!!
Atrix is trash compared to the photon. Fact.

It does have wifi hotspot? It was on the stock rom when I purchased my phone. You can use hotspot on rooted as well 3G/4G. It has 816
Edit: I'm sorry no hotspot I was talking about tether *facepalm* lol.
what if we install custom roms like cm7 or miui? will they bring wifi hotspot? does it require any particular hardware of its just a software feature?

Sprint has the best value in wireless considering you'll get 7.5 hours for landline calling included from Mon-Fri 7 am to 7 pm, all mobile to mobile calls while on Sprint's Nationwide Network are free, all calling after 7 pm are free, all domestic text messaging as well as domestic data usage are unlimited and free. All this on the Motorola Photon 4G starts at $87.99 ($79.99 + $8.00 Total Equipment Protection) before any NVP discounts and applicable taxes. Remember, both at&t and Verizon Wireless cap data usage per month and charge per MB over the included GBs and T-Mobile throttles data speed to 2G speed until the next billing cycle once 5 GB of 3/4G usage is exceeded.

Hotspots work for me rooted. I never tried multiple devices I will when I get off and report back.
Gsmarena tells the photon has wifi hotspot, http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_photon_4g_mb855-3987.php

Wi-Fi tether app?

So, just got a nexus 7 and want to to use my Amaze to tether to it for mobile data. I've searched around A LOT and not found a post that answers my question. I've seen several posts about tether hacking APN's and "viewing formats"? to trick T-MO into seeing the downloaded info as being a mobile device, or specifically an Android device. I don't want the hassle or know if it's possible from my tablet to my phone. I am actually looking for an APP that permits tethering. I am willing to pay for it, but I haven't found one that works. I've tried several free versions that permit you to test the app before buying the paid version. And some others that try using the stock tethering but use the aftermarket APP to get to it. Nothing works. Either T-MO blocks it still, or it can never fully connect. Does anyone know an app that works? I have an unlocked bootloader, and am running Eclipzes speed rom. I AM S-ON. Will S-OFF help? Any advice is appreciated.

Wifi tether for root users? It is free.

That was the most disappointing 1. It actually turns my phone off...

I used the APN change and built-in tethering app as found documented in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332627
That works for me and a stock only ever temp rooted Amaze 4g. You said you are willing to pay, then you could just pay T-Mobile if that is the case. No need to pay any 3rd party if that what you decide.

Yeah, I meant pay for an app once and be done. $15 per month for the foreseeable future just to access to my own data plan is stupid. I'll try that method. Does anyone know if I go back to gingerbread if I'll regain the feature? Has anyone tried this? I would be willing to go that route, the Nexus is my play toy now so it won't bother me soo much to be running 2.3 on the Amaze. Although I'll miss speed rom...

Yaataa! Working, for now. I'll update if they cut me off...
